Landscapes weren’t so much his thing as drawing people was. People moved and provided a challenge to draw. You could learn so much about them just by the stance they took or they way they walked or where their gaze was directed. He had thought there might have been more people at the beach that day, but perhaps he’d picked the wrong time or place.
Along with a cloth hairband to keep the sea breeze from blowing his stray stands in his face, he also had on a hoodie, sandals, and swimming trunks. Despite his trunks, however, he had no intention of swimming. Removing the sandals from his feet, he set them aside and ran his toes through the fine grains under them.
