Kit hummed a tune to himself as he strolled along the sidewalk under the light-polluted night sky of the city. It was a little chilly out, so he’d brought a jacket which his hands were nestled warmly in the pockets of. As he enjoyed his walk, the young man admired the unique atmosphere of his urban setting at such a late hour. It reminded him of those superhero action comics in which vigilantes kept watch for the criminal activities of their enemies in order to thwart them.
With this idealized image in mind, Kit decided that the sinister backdrop was perfect for sketching. He ceased his stroll at the entrance to a narrow alleyway with only one or two lamps to illuminate the back street of the buildings. Would there be enough light to draw by? Perhaps if he went under one of those lamps, he could make it work.
Withdrawing his right hand from its safe haven of a pocket first, he sent it into another pocket on the leg of his pants to pull out his small sketch pad. The pencil he used to draw was secured through the spiral binding of the pad. He snatched it from the metal coils and flipped open to a blank page to start marking lines.

Remarque enjoyed the privacy the alleyways offered; these days, it was hard to keep a mirror in one place for too long ,but if you picked the grimiest, dingiest alleyway, even the rats seemed to keep away. It was the perfect place to plant a mirror, and he'd had this one for over seven months now. He had been in Mirrorspace for an hour or so earlier, but there was only so much he could take of the drab white backdrop before he had to step back. Moving from the blinding walls of Mirrorspace to the darkness of Destiny City was something he'd grown accustomed to, but his eyes always burned for a good minute after he walked from one place to the next. Though he was only in his eternal form, he was still a sight to behold—even without massive wings on his back, his outfit was strange and fantastical. And totally inconvenient and practical for everyday business. He was still rubbing at his eyes when he stepped out of the alleyway; there were no energy signatures around (and even if there were, he already knew he had nothing to fear). No energy signatures meant he figured he was alone; had he known there was a civilian just a few yards ahead of him he might have made more of a conscious effort to be discreet. But then, probably not.Kitomyx I AM SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG

The young man blinked a couple of times as the dazzling being came into view. Was that a costume? It wasn’t halloween yet, was it? Maybe there was some sort of convention around, though the outfit wasn’t from any sort of series Kit recognized. Regardless, it was still pretty amazing. The teen grinned and greeted the long-haired stranger with a wolf-whistle of admiration.
“Nice getup,” he called, setting down his pencil and cupping a hand over his mouth to allow the sound to carry. Not that he really needed to in such a narrow alley. “But should you really be dressed like that this late at night? And all alone out here, for that matter?”
This person didn’t appear to be the sort that took frequent evening walks in neighborhoods like these. Those garments may have been pretty, but they were likely to attract too much unwanted attention from muggers or potential thieves and they didn’t look like they were made for running in. What would they have done if they’d been jumped right then and there?
Kit was caught between wanting to draw this fantastical vision from right where he was and wanting to get up close and personal to regard them more closely. He didn’t want them thinking he had any intention of attacking them or otherwise causing them harm, however, so he ultimately decided to seat himself on the wooden crate under one of the lamps. That was where he had been headed even before seeing the newcomer, after all, hoping he could draw better under the lamplight.Kyuseisha no Hikari ((You're fine. <3 I know you're busy.))

Remarque immediately glanced down at his clothes—instinctively—and then back up at the man across from him. A smirk flickered across his face; he was amused.
This town, for all it's trouble, wasn't dangerous.
Not for him, at least.
"My business is my own, thank you. But I wouldn't recommend worrying too much about me."
He reached to smooth down the fabric of his outfit, as if it weren't already in impeccable condition. Remarque walked with such pride that his step was an undeniable little saunter. "I am fully capable of handling any and all issues that should arise in my presence. Being out here, alone, is quite peaceful. Why?"
He seemed interested, suddenly, and cocked his head to the side just slightly. "What do you think I should be afraid of?"

"That so?" the tall teen laughed. "Well, I'm glad to hear that, then." Seeing that the stranger wouldn't be easily spooked, Kit got up and walked over, circling him once to fully admire his garments.
"I just thought that something this flashy might get the attention of less savory people. I mean, this is a back alleyway in the middle of the night. You could be robbed or abducted or beaten or any number of other things. Didn't look like those clothes would be very easy to escape in, either." He shrugged. "I mean, you might be fully capable of defending yourself and know five kinds of martial arts, but if someone catches you off-guard and knocks you out, sometimes that doesn't even matter."
He looked up at the sky. "I agree, though; it is peaceful. That's why I like to take walks out here sometimes." Kit grinned as he looked back at the other man. "There's also this feeling in the air like anything could happen. Like seeing someone appear out of a random mirror as if it were some inter-dimensional portal, for instance."

"Well," Remarque said smoothly, "It is."
He held his head high—amused, and smug. He didn't seem bothered by the fact that the guy circled him and took in details, but he couldn't help but comment, "Appearances can be deceiving, never forget that. A mirror might look like a fancy tool to see your reflection, but they're a lot more if you know how to use them. This outfit might be flashy and attention-grabbing, but I prefer to think of it as a warning. Most people aren't stupid enough to bother me. And if they are?"
He shrugged and rolled his shoulders.
"I haven't had a good fight in a long time. I'd welcome a challenge, if I was sure there even was such a thing in this town. Though," his attention returned to Kit. "You probably shouldn't go running your mouth about mirrors with people coming out of them—or the people that come out of said mirrors. Could get you in a lot of trouble if you said the wrong thing to the wrong person."

"Of course," Kit answered in response to the comment that appearances could be deceiving. "Hence my mention of the possibility that you might know five kinds of martial arts." He gave a lop-sided grin at the notion that the outfit might have been a warning. "Right...that's an interesting perspective. I like it."
His brows rose and he rocked back on his heels at the mention of a fight. "A fight, huh? Like an actual, physical altercation?" He chuckled lightly. "You sure seem confident, sweetheart. I guess it was pointless for me to worry, then."
The tattooed teen smirked when he was advised about running his mouth. "Oh? Well being a senior at Hillworth, I can't say I'm unfamiliar with trouble. But I get the feeling you're talking about a different kind than the sort that might get me locked up in a psych ward." He leaned closer. "Care to elaborate?"

Remarque clucked his tongue at the nickname and refrained from snapping back. He bristled, but contained it. Barely.
"I'm confident because I don't lose. Ever. Don't mind the colors," he said, instinctively smoothing out the colors. "I didn't pick them, but I'm not going to skulk around. It is what it is. And if you run your mouth to someone, it is what it is. But there are people out there who might not like me or my kind so much."
He'd done his best to keep as many bridges as possible, but Remarque had enemies.
The Dark Mirror Court had enemies.
"I might be inclined to humor you and answer a few questions, but all the same, someone else might be inclined to, I don't know," he shrugged dramatically, "Shut you up, for good. So really, it's best to be safe. There's a lot that goes on in this town. Most people don't notice. Or, I suppose it would be fair to say, most people aren't invited."

Kit's grin widened just the slightest bit at the stranger's clicking of his tongue. "'It is what it is' tells me absolutely nothing at all, but okay. You seem to enjoy being enigmatic."
He chuckled lightly at the suggestion that someone might want to shut him up for good. "Oh, I see. Kind of you to worry about my safety, He-Who-Doesn't-Ever-Lose-Ever. I'll keep that in mind."
Kit cocked his head. "'Invited' you say? That mean I crashed the party?" He reached out to gingerly stroke the sheer fabric of Remarque's outfit. "Or since I, in my quest for something interesting to draw, ended up noticing something I 'shouldn't have'," he continued, using air quotes to emphasize those two words, "does that mean I have a chance at getting my own invite? Because I'd love to attend whatever party you just seem to have left."

Remarque raised a brow and looked like he was going to pull away when the stranger started touching the fabric on his outfit. He remained still, though didn't bother to hide the disapproving expression he wore. "Perhaps we could arrange something," he said slowly, figuring there was an easy solution to all of this.
Take him into Mirrorspace.
Either he winds up drained of energy and Remarque would get a little boost to his collection before the mirror spat this kid back out, or, if there was some shred of destiny working with him, he'd find another Dark Mirror Senshi.
"I'll make you a deal. I'm a very busy man and plans don't permit me to dawdle this very moment, but if you're interested, meet me back here in an hour. I'll take you to Mirrorspace—on the condition that you not let this little meeting slip out to anyone. Deal?"

"Mirror space?" Kit raised a brow, the very name of this strange place increasing his curiosity. "An hour, huh? Sounds good." He wondered what other things this costumed man had to do that made him so busy. Due to his outfit, medieval lords and other nobles holding meetings came to mind, but he highly doubted that was the case. He supposed he might find out for himself what this was all about if he waited around an hour.
There was always the chance this guy was being shading and luring him into some kind of trap, maybe planning to come back with goons or weapons to destroy him or at the very least keep his mouth shut about what he'd seen. The fact that he was given an hour also would have given Kit enough time to prepare for whatever sort of ambush that might have been planned so that didn't really make sense. If this guy intended to have him murdered, he wouldn't likely have let Kit go and do whatever for an hour. For all he knew, even if he asked him not to tell anyone, the teen could have made it so that if he didn't come back from their little meeting, the world would know about this 'mirror space' place and how the man had been seen emerging from this mirror.
"Alright, I'll keep my mouth shut," the high schooler assured him. "I originally came out here to draw, so I guess I'll be sitting around and sketching until you return, Your Grace." He really probably shouldn't have added that little nickname to the end, but Kit just couldn't seem to help himself. This was all just sounding a bit too other-worldly for him make himself take much of it seriously.

Once more, Remarque made a face—this time torn between amusement and exasperation. The laugh he offered in response sounded suspiciously like a scoff. "You do whatever you like. Just stay out of trouble and I'll be back soon. And maybe you'll take things a little more seriously once you get into Mirrorspace. Anyway."
He raised a hand in a lazy goodbye and turned. "See you in a bit," he said—and then stalked off into the darkness.Kitomyx I am gonna tag the other one soon!
