Name: Lycoris Milia (Irish-Gaelic/Greek/African-Swahili)

Nickname: Lyco

Age: 16 (as of June 15th, 2016, the end of his sophomore year at Meadowview)

Birthday: October 9th

Sign: Libra

Gemstone: Opal

Blood Type: A

Fav. Food: Grapes (with favorite drink being grape juice)

Hated Food: Meat (He's a vegetarian.)

School: Meadowview High School (My plan was for him to spend his junior year of high school attending Meadowview at the age of 17 and then earn a scholarship allowing him to transfer and spend his senior year attending Azure Valley Academy at the age of 18.)

Hobbies:
Knitting - Lycoris took up knitting because when he was little, a nice lady gave him a knitted scarf she had made and it meant a great deal to him. He wanted to learn how to knit as well so that he could give gifts to others the same way she gave the scarf to him. Sentimental as he is, he still cherishes the scarf to this day and would like to think that the things he knits for others might be cherished in the same way. This is a hobby he dare not let his peers know about, however, for fear of being teased due to it being considered a stereotypical hobby of old women.

Childcare - This young man actually very much enjoys babysitting as well as volunteering at preschools and daycare centers. He likes feeling like a figure that children can look to and rely on for support and it makes him feel very responsible and capable. It doesn't hurt to be thought of as an adult and authority figure by said children, either. As someone who believes himself to be very cowardly and paranoid, feeling like others look up to him or believe in him is very important to his self-esteem. He wants to be a protector, not the protected, and this pastime of his helps him affirm that he at least has to potential to ultimately become all he wants to be.

Horses - While he certainly doesn't own a horse of his own, Lyco is very passionate about the animals. He volunteers regularly at a horse-back riding school for kids just to be near them and watch them. He enjoys taking care of horses and it calms him to do so; grooming them, saddling them, and taking care of their tack in general. What he loves most of all, however, is watching them run and to ride with them as they run because he feels free and powerful when he's on the back of a galloping horse. Since he's on the track team at school, he likes to run for the feel of the wind in his face, but it's not the same feeling of power and freedom that he can partake in when horse-back riding even if it's the closest he can get to it on his own.

Virtues:
Protective - As cowardly and weak-willed/minded/bodied as he is, Lycoris will do all he can to avoid conflict if at all possible. However, he will make an exception if he sees someone smaller or younger being bullied and feels like he might be able to do something about it. Sometimes he doesn't even think about whether or not he could win against an opponent before attempting to take them on when it's for the sake of defending someone else. Lyco is especially protective of those younger, smaller, or otherwise perceived by him as weaker than him because he has a deep sense of justice. However, he also knows when to stand back and support someone else while allowing them to fight their own battles because he himself didn't feel he was given that opportunity enough when he was younger. Sometimes he can tend to be a bit over-protective when he forgets that he needs to let others learn to defend themselves, though.

Gentle - As shy and timid as an introvert as he is, Lyco feels as though he can empathize with those who feel small and weak such as children. For this reason, he tries to be caring and considerate towards them. He's very gentle with kids and doesn't try to rush them or make them do anything they're not comfortable with doing until they themselves are ready. He is always willing to support and encourage, however, and be there when others need him (especially because he very much likes to feel needed). Lyco does his best to come up with ways to help children get over their fears of things without making them feel uncomfortable because he knew that as a child, he himself was afraid of so much. He also feels that, as an individual who is older, stronger, and more experienced than those he cares for, it is his responsibility to be gentle with them. After all, when he had been their age, he had known what it was like to feel utterly helpless and will never forget what it was like to feel weak no matter how much stronger he gets.

Profound - Lycoris will agree that he is many things, but if there's one thing he refuses to be called, it's shallow. He despises shallow and superficial people. The tattoos he has were given to him at a young age as a tribute to his heritage be he found that, growing up, there were many who became attracted to him because of those tattoos and the person they assumed he was because he had them. That judgement based off his appearance is one of many reasons Lyco came to loathe his appearance and people who become attracted to appearances so much. As a result, he says he would have loved to have been born plain so as to avoid people who would have flocked to him simply for his looks. However, he has a rich heritage with an exotic mix of blood and genes which, in addition to his tattoos that are a tribute to that heritage, attract a good deal of attention. Growing up in the environment that he did, Lyco quickly came to despise that attention. But, like many things he dislikes, he learned a lot from it. Though he dislikes women, for example, he doesn't doubt that they're just as strong and capable as men if not more so.

Flaws:
Cowardly - When Lycoris was young, he was simply timid and shy. This gradually grew into cowardice and paranoia as he got older and began to meet more people he didn't like. He is now very mistrusting and somewhat paranoid about people in general. However, he has a particular dislike and distrust of women to the point of misogyny. Gynophobia The women he's known in his life have objectified men and based their ideals of men on appearance so he has come to the conclusion that women are generally shallow and after men's bodies. He also can't stand strong girls - whether strong-minded or strong-bodied - because he feels emasculated by them. That combined with his insecurity about himself and feeling weak makes him feel weaker in comparison to them. Since he grew up in a society and culture comprised of many strong women, his problems were often handled for him and he never learned to face his fears on his own. It also made him grow to resent women because he felt they thought him weak for not trusting or teaching him to fight his own battles.

Dismissive - Once Lycoris makes up his mind about a person, he doesn't often change his opinion afterward. This becomes a problem because if he thinks he doesn't like someone for even the smallest reason, it's hard to convince him to see them any other way. He ends up seeing them only as the flaw he doesn't like them for. This causes him to shut people out very quickly and to ignore or avoid them as much as possible once he's decided he wants nothing more to do with them. He will immediately turn his back on someone if he thinks they like him for shallow reasons such as appearances because he hates people who are attracted to appearances alone or are otherwise superficial. His misogynist nature also makes him particularly prejudiced against women and he is a lot more likely to find something he dislikes about them and dismiss them a lot faster than he is to dismiss men.

Insecure - This young man's insecurity is very obvious and it makes him bitter and sensitive to have it pointed out to him, let alone be teased about it. He gets defensive very easily because he's unhappy with himself and it ends up manifesting as angst. Lyco often wishes he was more physically strong, but beyond the small changes he makes to his looks like getting tattoos or trying to keep in shape, yearns to be different as a person. He wishes he was more confident as a person but as untrusting and cynical as he is about other people (not including children), it's hard for him to act or feel anything but suspicious, paranoid, and insecure. The grass is always greener on the other side, though, and because he's so focused on what he isn't and what he doesn't have, he doesn't think to look at what he is and what he does have.

Knight Title: Courage, Page of Neptune
(Courage is the name of the faintest ring arc of the Adams ring of Neptune)

Challenge: "I may be scared(afraid?), but I'll still fight to protect!"
(Fear is not supposed to be banished; it should be overcome.
Courage is not lack of fear; it is the acceptance of it)

Uniform: Dark colors should not dominate the uniform so even if the color palette is naturally dark, please keep this in mind! Your Knight should have their planetary symbol presented as a major motif in their outfit, so please consider where these symbols might best appear on their uniform!

PLEASE THINK OF YOUR PLANET THEME(S) BEFORE GOING INSANE~!
Neptune -- Music, grace, generosity.
Neptune -- Mythical sea and music. Think Atlantis, with a hint of ballroom dancer.

COLORS SHOULD BE DRAWN FROM YOUR PLANET'S PALETTE OR GRADIENT. DARK COLORS MAY BE INCLUDED BUT CANNOT DOMINATE!

Maybe based off of him somehow? User Image

Top -- Thigh-length traditional side-fastened coat? Shorter? Longer? Exposed undershirt?  Cropped?  Buttons? Toggles?  Shoulderpads?  Long sleeves, or short sleeves?  Sleeves at all? What's the collar like? Could even be a dress? You are generally as basic as it gets here and should be something you can be very active in.
Bottoms -- Skirt? Pants? Shorts? Culottes?
Gloves -- Got any?
Belt -- Belt? No belt?
Shoes -- What kind?
Shoulders -- Epaulettes? Fuzzy wuzzy shoulderpads? Bells? Whistles?
Accessories -- What kind? Pages and Squires cannot have capes, so please keep this in mind!

Weapon & Magic
Page Weapon: Plain (rusty?) old horseshoe
Squire: Shiny new horseshoe? Magic has something to do with making people feel unsteady/seasick, rocking back and forth constantly
Knight Weapon: Crystal horseshoe...?

Summons -- What Summons does your Knight have? You must describe its appearance and the magical ability you'd like for it to have. Filling out summons information is NOT mandatory; you may leave this part blank and apply for a Summons later! This is only for players who know what they want their Summons to be, so there is no pressure to come up with something now if you aren't ready!

(A horse! Horse would be themed off of Neptune because Neptune/Poseidon was the one who gifted humans with horses in Greek mythology. If this is not allowed because it's too much of a stretch to fit the theme, then a Hippocampus will do.)

Hello Kit!

I have a few crits to get Lycoris up to stampable --

On the civilian side, right now, his "Profound" virtue isn't reading so much as a virtue as just reasons why he hates being judged shallowly? I think focusing more on the trait itself and less on all the backstory behind it will make it stronger. A lot of his other traits are also very backstory-heavy, but I don't think it's to a degree that distracts from the trait in those cases!

On the powered side, unfortunately, planetary rings are not valid Wonders for a number of reasons. Also, I'll need to see his Squire and Knight magic so I can crit and approve that! If you need help picking a new Wonder or coming up with magic, I can offer some suggestions, just let me know!

Quote me and I'll be back!
