M'kay. So I noticed that some of us play KoL.

I'm "Angry Villager." If you tell me your username I'll buff you or something if you ask. I'm playing as a Seal Clubber at the moment; I've previously been an Accordion Thief, Sauceror, and Pastamancer. I also have a side account, which I was going to abandon but didn't; I just took it out of my clan...she's a Sauceror, so if anyone needs a Saucesphere I can cast that.

Oh, and I can do Advanced Weaponsmithing; make weapons out of ores and furs/skins. If you need anything smithed, send me all the items required, maybe some booze to cover smithery costs if it's a lot of things you want smithed, and I'll make the stuff.

I collect ghuol eggs and grave-robbing shovels. Gimme. P:

I don't get KoL. Numerous people've showed it to me, and I'm all "Ooo! Kingdom of Loathing! That sounds neat!" And then I glance at it and I'm all..."pfft, no thanks."

I used to be a disco bandit

It's an online RPG, with lots of content paired with amusingly simple graphics. Like, stick figures and cartoony doodles. And the game is, more ofteh than not, very funny.
You can interact with other players to trade items, and there's an optional (and very unusual) PvP system, which I haven't tried yet so I don't know how that goes. But other than that, the game doesn't really require interaction with other people; it can be played as a single-person game...and there's even an Ascension mode that requires you to do this.
Ascension is when after you beat the hardest boss monster, instead of staying in the Kingdom and leveling up your character for who knows what, you can choose to restart the game (keeping all your items and equipment, which are sent to a special storage area), usually choosing a new character class and then picking which new area you want to be able to access. That's one of the really fun things about KoL; you can play through the game as many times as you can, but there's plenty of ways to make it different each time.
