Issaly sighed as he watched Abysio and Saalin run ahead. The two were acting like children since Issaly took off their packs. He was just going to let them roam, knowing they'd be back within a hour or so. Ullyee laid under a nearby tree sleeping. Therus was sleeping on top of her. Issaly hummed softly as he made sure the packs were secure next to his two sleeping companions. Taking a few steps back he heard it...a crunch of a twig. He glanced to Ullyee nervously. She was well hidden under the tree. He took a few steps back then heard a growl.
His head snapping to see a creature he hadn't seen before. "Uh oh..." it lunged and he took off. Hoping to circle back and hiding with Ullyee till it passed. He turn and spun getting all of ten strides before feeling something wrap around his leg. Yelping in pain he tumbled. Slamming into a tree, clutching his leg he knew he was bleeding.
"HELP!"

The sun would be setting soon, something that meant that Jacin was on his way back to Yera. It had been a decent enough day, one that allowed him to get some aldabuk that one of his hunting students had brough back on a travois leaving Jacin to do some patroling. Likely a good thing as a scream for 'help' suddenly cut through the air. Whirling around toward the sound the Leaf Tribe hunter went racing toward the sound as quickly as his feet would carry him. Who was it? What was going on? Not a voice that he recogized so it might be a traveller? Hurrying along he found a Shifter, still in his dark color phase due to the time of day, was being teased by witu. Giving a hissing sound under his breath he muttered, "Always has to be witu." He muttered to himself as he drew some arrows from his quiver, one was notched quickly and fired, shooting one of the witu in the neck, dropping it quickly. The next arrow was prepared and again Jacin shot down another witu. After cutting down a pair of them it caused the others to back off, though not completely, and set to circling around Jacinthus and the little Shifter that they had been hunting.

Issaly slowly pulled himself to stand as he watched the male come to his aid. He blinked a few times before smiling. "Th-thanks..." He saw that the rest didn't run away. Looking around he picked up the acute sound of Abysio growling at Saalin. That was his 'keep up with me' growl, Issaly remembered it from Abysio's earlier days. He never got that growl, only Saalin did. Issaly pulled out a small reed. There were small little notches in it that he used for signals. One slender finger covered the right hole and a quick burst of three tweets. Issaly heard the two before he saw them. Abysio leaped out taking out two, while Saalin slid in front of the pair. One loud 'SNAP' and the rest took off. The two beasts relaxed only when Therus appeared giving the all clear. Issaly leaned into the tree sighing. "Thankfully you two were close." He smiled at the Ranger. "My thanks...my name's Issaly." He tilted his head with his smile.

Jacinthus's eyes turned to look toward the beasts that went racing off after the other witu, taking in the looks of them. More various beasts following around some that didn't quite look the part he thought to himself, "Hmph... I think my nephew would like you." He said before he squatted down to get a look at the young man's bloody ankle, giving it an inspection before he dug into his pack to get out his water skin and some bandages. After rinsing out the wounds he then wrapped it tightly to slow the bleeding, "That should help to slow the bleeding, I know witu bites can be quite a bother." To say the very least.
Everything was tucked away into the pack once more before he withdrew a pair of knives from his pack and asked, "Are you afraid of either knives or blood, Issaly?" He asked as he turned to face the pair of witu that he'd taken down with his arrows. He had no interest in the one that had been killed by the boy's pets, not sure where the beast might have been.
Heading over to the witu he motioned to Issaly, "My name is Jacinthus. Now come along, Issaly, you can help out here. No reason to waste any of this." He'd had to kill the creatures and given that he had they would need to make use of the beasts.

Issaly blinked, tilting his head. "Nephew? What's his name?" the youth blinked at how quick the elder had taken care of him. He then paled slowly at the male's words sank in. What...? "Th-thank you for helping." Abysio had his kill in his jaws, looking at his master the Janarim dragged it away to eat. Dropping the kill Abysio made a series of noises that Saalin slithered over to join in. Abysio would go hunting for a real meal after they made sure their master were fine. Issaly shook his head. "N-no sir...but..." he let out a squeak. "I'm not sure on how to do this. I was taken hunting...my elder brother said he didn't want me to see that type of Death."

"His name is Aysun, he's often seen roaming around with a following of various beasts." How he'd collected such an odd group was beyond him, "I thought my sister might have a fit when her son showed up with that damn serpent of his..." Jacinthus was a touch envious, he'd gone against a similar beast but had been unable to catch and eat it. A shame, it could have been a good meal. A thought he'd kept to himself though, not wanting to upset his nephew who was far too attached to his pets.
Jacinthus turned to look the boy over as he spoke of an elder brother that didn't want him to 'see that type of death'. It was an ignorant comment that tempted Jacin to call the elder brother an idiot... but he refrained. Instead he said, "If you're traveling alone then it's something you will need to learn about. Surely you'd rather learn to deal with this sort of thing then starve? Tale isn't so kind a land that it will let you off just because you don't want to do something." With that he set to work on the first of the witu, wanting to see to field dressing them quickly so as not to let the meet get tainted.

Issaly paused. "Oh! I met Aysun! He was extremely pleasant to be around." He nodded before hobbling over to watch the other male. He knew how to hold a knife from his herb gathering. So, the basics weren't lost on him. He tilted his head. "How do you store the meat to take home? Is there a special cloth?" He was paying close attention to the elder's process. Trying to remember what to do exactly. He hoped that the male didn't think he was a burden with how little he knew.

Jacinthus turned to look at Issaly, lifting an eyebrow, as the boy mentioned that he'd met Aysun before. He supposed that he really shouldn't be in anyway surprised about a declaration like that one. It seemed as though such types flocked together he thought to himself, "Recently?" He found himself asking, knowing that his nephew had been spending more and more time alone in the wilds of Jauhar and Tale, seeming as though he'd been through something but didn't want to talk about it. Instead he was trying to deal with it in his own way, something that Jacinthus was certain Keilana was worried about. He would need to catch up with her soon and see if she learned anything new other then that Aysun had gotten himself a new pet he thought idly to himself.
"Normally I would use a travois I built, a few sticks lashed together with a thick cloth in the middle that the beasts rest on until I get them home to finish the butchering job. I left it with my student though who dragged it and some aldabuk home after a hunt we were on earlier." He explained, handing one knife over to Issaly, "I will go easy on you, to a degree, I need you to either cut the throats on both beasts to help drain them or dig a hole so we can bury the innards. It will keep other beasts from finding them. The last thing we want are for the witu and other scavengers to think we are feeding them." A thought that made Jacin's nose wrinkle a bit just thinking about it. He detested witu and would never do something so kind as to feed them.

Issaly nodded. "Mhm! I treated him to tea...and we napped together." the youth said offhandedly. Not realizing that the implications were pretty staggering there. He tilted his head as he thought back to that meeting. Aysun was distracted. Issaly knew better than to press the matter and instead sought to help the male relax even a little. He figured that he did sorta well...Aysun slept at least. Issaly sighed softly. He hoped to see the other male soon. He wanted to make sure that Aysun was alright... He blinked at the males instructions. "Simple enough...the hole..." he looked over at his two beasts currently sitting there watching. "Saalin." The snapptrotter's tail flickered like a pups showing he was listening. Issaly pointed to a nearby flat surface. "Dig." He had taught both that command mostly to help find herb roots. Saalin lumbered over and dug, Issaly watched for a few moments before he shifted over to cut the throat of one fallen creature. Mindful of the teeth in case there were any death throws. Then he did the same to the other. Glancing back up as Saalin let out a chirp. He smiled, seeing that Saalin had dug deep enough to bury and wide enough that half of one leg was inside. "Good boy. Go sit by Abysio." Saalin did as he was told. "Now then...anything else?"

Jacinthus thought that one over for a moment, wondering what it might mean, but given that he'd seen his nephew sleeping in a pile of beasts like he wa sone of them it might be something akin to that? He gave a humming sound before he returned to what he was doing. He was working on preparing the two witu for travel before he heard Issaly declare that the digging the whole was 'simple enough' which had Jacinthus turning to look over at him. A moment later the boy was ordering one of his beasts to dig the hole for him and the look on Jacinthus's face wasn't one of amusement, not in the least bit. "I didn't tell you to hand the tasks to your beasts Issaly." Jacinthus said, not very amused in the least bit that he would skip out on work, "They won't always be there, something you should know full well with that ankle of yours. No taking short cuts." At least the boy didn't shirk out of the ther duty and saw to it that the two were bleed them. It would cool the bodies more rapidly, keeping the meat from spoiling in that manner as well. As the boy asked if there was anything else Jacinthus nodded, "Yes, you will get a stick and use it to toss the guts into the hole that was dug, then bury them. Once that is done we will see about moving the bodies closer to Yera so we can butcher them out. My student is likely already there working on the aldabuk, I can't leave them alone forever though as they are a newbie as well." Seems he ran into a lot of those out in the wilds around Yera oddly enough. Nyiim, Meri, and now Issaly... it seemed to be trend for him to run across people when he was hunting.

Issaly doubted that Abysio or Saalin would leave him alone, but he wasn't going to voice that. He glanced down at his leg, wondering how he was going to get around now. After hearing the older male continue to speak. Issaly tilted his head listening. "True. Though, did you want them to help transport the kills?"

Jacinthus gave a thoughtful sound in his throat. Did he want them to help transport the witu? He wasn't like his nephew, he had no affinity for working with beasts, preferring instead to do everything with his own two hands. Then again it would get them backto the village more quickly and allow them to get to work butchering the witu and the aldabuk both. The quicker they got that work done the quicker the meat could be handed off to those who needed it. After some thought he said, "Alright, best that they carry both the meat and you given that you are injured." With the boy's ankle like that they wouldn't be able to transport the witu themselves.
"Once we get back, and we are done butchering out the beasts, the beasts can get some of the scraps as payment. The meat will be handed out to those that need it and you can go and see a healer so your ankle can be tackle care of."
Giving the beasts a glance he asked, "Which of them will be carrying you and which of them will be carrying the witu?" He asked of him, wanting to get moving. The sun was starting to sink lower and lower and the last thing he wanted was to be stuck butchering meat by torch light. It was going to be quite the pain having to deal with that, as such it was best that they got moving sooner then later. The only problem being he has zero idea how to deal with beasts, save for cooking and eating them, so he'd differ to the boy since he was the one that owned them.

Issaly blinked. Then looked at the two beasts. Saalin could handle more weight...but...the temptation of the meat would most likely be too much. He nodded. "Abysio can carry the kills. He has more resistance to disobeying me than the big guy. Saalin will carry me...Therus!" The sprite fluttered down landing on the back of the outstretched hand. "Go back to where the packs are. Tell Ullyee that we'll be back by nightfall. Guard the packs. I'll send Abysio back...we'll be back soon." Therus gave a chatter and then took off for Ullyee. Issaly hobbled to his feet looking at the other two large beasts. "Abysio. You'll be carrying the meat. You already ate, I'll let you hunt later. Saalin. You're going to be carrying me. Don't drop me." he gave the large reptile a pointed look. Looking back to Jacin he smiled. "Ready to get these two packed when you are."

Jacinthus gave the beast named 'Abysio' a long look. He didn't much care for that sort of beast, though he knew his opinion of them were colored by the fact that they were from Oba. It was hard to like something when one had to battle it out against warriors riding their cousins he supposed. After a moment he finally said, "Alright." That one would carry the meat and if it stole from Jacinthus then he'd just eat the janarim he thought to himself idly. Not likely something that he'd actually do, but still, it was a nice threat he decided as he walked over to the now field dressed and bled witu, scooping them up one at a time, tossing them onto the janarim's back one by one as if they weighed nothing.
"Do not eat the witu." He told the creature sternly, "If you behave then you and your snaptrotter friend will get the scraps." After making sure to clean his hands off using some dirt he walked over to Issaly next, picking him up as easily as he did the witu, and put him on the back of the beast. After fetching all of his things Jacin nodded, "Let's get going then." He told him, turning on his heel, and moved to lead the way back to Yera. The pace that Jacinthus set was a fast one, for an earthling, but he was eager to get home and back to work again.

Abysio gave the earthling a single pointed look that seemed to say 'I was already told this. Duh!' But didn't vocalize it. The Janarim did follow the leaf male only after Issaly patted Saalin to follow. Issaly was impressed that the male easily picked him up but he figured that was going to be a common thing since he was so small to begin with. As they followed the other male Issaly attempted small talk. "Jacin...is Aysun the only nephew you have? What's the rest of your family like?" He questioned curious.
