Speed Dating Party! 1. Colored by Ember 2. Colored by Ember Opens: February 8th Closes: February 29th, 11:59 PM PST
Hunter's Jubilee is a time to celebrate love and connections. Whether it be platonic or romantic, all relationships are celebrated during this affectionate time. This year's Jubilee is unusually cold, so the celebrations have been brought indoors! The Academy faculty have set up all sorts of games to play and events to go to. Some of the cheekier staff have decided to set up a speed dating area where students of the academy, university students, and graduated adults can come and mingle. The teachers figured it'd be a good way to get some of the younger kids out of their comfort zone, and if nothing else, maybe people would make new friends! Due to the potential romantic nature of the event, Freshlings are not allowed in this area.
University students and graduated adults are invited to attend!
**THOSE WHO DID NOT ENTER THE EVENT CAN STILL RP HERE FOR THE TRINKETS!**
How to play:
Every day you are allowed to roll for each of your Nightmares/Daydreams to receive a trinket or plushie! However, you must RP your character receiving their prize, or doing something in the festival when you roll. It's suggested that while you can roll for every Nightmare you have, you only roll for the amount of responses you can handle! You can keep rolls in one post, or in individual posts. Roll a 20-sided die per Nightmare you're including in the ORP! If you roll an even number, you may grab a trinket! If you roll an uneven number you can grab a plushie instead. At the end of the event, those who signed up in the Speed Dating Sign-Ups will be eligible to win one of the two major prizes. Only one major prize per customer -- you cannot win both. You must label in your posts how many points you have. If you don't you will not be counted for the grand prize. Do not delete posts. We will disqualify you from the chance to win the Nightmares if you do! You may RP quests! If you lack a Nightmare/Daydream you are allowed to RP an approved quest within this game! If you have more then one quest, you are permitted three quests to play in this game. You are encouraged to create creative situations of your character receiving a prize! Characters may trade prizes without losing points! Only take one prize per each roll!
Trinkets:
Plushies:
More items may be added at a later date! And for those who were unsure for scoring: rolling a 1 equals 1 point -- rolling a 20 equals 20. Whatever you roll will be your score for that post!

Dressed in his very best dress, a sleeker black number that more tightly hugged his slender frame, and his long hair bound up in a 9-strand braid to keep it from dragging on the floor, Galan stepped in. The posters that had advertised the event had said 'no Freshlings', and Galan ruefully concluded that meant that the vast majority of his companions would not be here.
He supposed this was good, because he was meant to be "speed-dating". He'd never done anything of the kind. He was only now getting to the point where dating had drifted out of the sappy songs he liked and into the realm of possibility he ought to pursue.
No sooner had he made his way in, looking around at the booths and tables set up that he realized that aside from a few organizers at the back of the room, there didn't seem to be anyone else there. He approached one of the teachers and after consulting their lists they added him to the roster.
"For now, take a seat at table 8," she said with a kindly smile.
Swallowing hard, Galan nodded, moving off to take his place at one of the tables and pulled his tail into his lap.
What if no one showed up? Or if they didn't want to talk to him? Or if even by the end of the night, he still hadn't made any friends nearer his own age?
He closed his eyes and took deep breaths. When he felt a bit steadier, he rose again to look around while he was waiting for others to arrive. He found the tables laid out with sweets and gifts. Deciding to remain hopeful at this early stage, he selected a plushie and brought it back to his table. If he was successful in hitting it off with a potential beau, he'd have something to express his affections. Yes, that was a good plan, something to distract focus from just little ol' him.

Caramel looked around for the first person he was paired with on the speed dating event. He held a plushie in his hands to give them. He wore a name tag and looking around to someone wearing a name tag with the name Rose on it, pretty name. He wondered what she liked and if she would be interested in him, what race would she be?? Would she like nixies?? So many questions ran through Caramels head, as he walked through the crowd looking for Rose.

When Raleka had heard there were speed dating sign ups, she had been surprised at her own interest in it. Something about the way couples were so lovey-dovey around this time of year made her feel like she was missing something. And anyway, now she was an adult, so who was stopping her from reaching out and being truthful about her intentions? Nobody. That's who. And anyway, her subtle approach of never speaking to the person of interest at all had never worked, so perhaps it was time to start a new one.
It was embarrassing to admit, but Raleka had never dated anyone. Not even when she was in Academy. She wondered if whoever she was partnered up with would be able to tell. Chances are, if they were a younger kid, they wouldn't care. After all, it was really heavily insinuated that the event had lots of platonic potential, too! The hybrid felt like she was about to go tightrope walking, and if she wasn't careful enough, she'd fall into the abyss.
But she still had to take that first wobbly step. When she approached the sign-in table, the event coordinator cheerily looked her name up on the list and handed her a name tag. You'll start with someone named... Riamheid! they announced, as she scribbled her name in her loopy script. Raleka wondered how that was spelled. We just ask you to start by sitting at table number two, the coordinator said with a final flashing smile. She felt her scaly cheeks grow pink as she turned away, eyes searching for the number.
Oh, and wait! Just for participating, you get one of these plushies, that sickly cheerful voice continued, shoving a furry ball of red and white at her. Raleka's mouth shifted upwards just a bit as she thanked the coordinator and hugged the plush kitty to her chest. This would go perfectly with the collection she was trying to build back up.
Without further ado, she reached table two and waited impatiently, bouncing her leg. Her hands were clasped on the table as her lilac eyes searched the small gathering that was already there, and looked at the door, wondering if this Riamheid could walk in at any moment. Should she pretend like she wouldn't notice them until the last minute, or be cheerfully attentive? Raleka didn't even realize she was holding her breath until she forced herself to relax, and release it. Claiming 9 points for today. This makes a total of 9 points this week.

Seray had found his way over to the speed dating area. It was a little strange of him to do since it went against his nature, however he realized that he was getting older and there was nothing wrong with finding a prospective partner. Though he very much doubted there would be anyone of interest. He had received some candy at the door and popped one into his mouth. He inspected the name tags of the people passing but didn't see one that matched the little name on the card he had been given. Perhaps his partner had decided not to show? Points:8

Now why Aren had left the safety and comfort of his room was puzzliing. He hated social situations such as these. However Aren was a softy and loved the idea of love very much. To shake him out of his usual social anxiety he decided to see this as a performance, to let only his stage persona out. After all his stage persona was loved by many, he was smooth and charming and a whole side of Aren that only came out when preforming. Perhaps he thought it would be best to be himself. He quickly wrote that off and decided to be someone he was not, because that always works right? He had stuck the lolipop in his backpack we wore slung over his shoulder now was not the time for candy. He didn't see his partner yet so he waited leaning up against the wall trying to look natural and not so out of place. Points: 12

Coralie didn't expect to find love here at this speed dating thing. Oh no! Why would she ever expect that?! Anyhow, it was time to meet up with her speed dating buddy... Aren was it? Hmmm, she couldn't recall that name off the top of her head, but surely they weren't that bad. At worst, the two could be friends right? After making a quick detour to grab herself a plush toy, she finally made it to her meeting spot with Aren. So Aren was a chimera? This should be interesting at the very least. Making sure the plushie wouldn't fall, she reached out her hand for them to shake ", Are you Aren? I'm Coralie." Points: 5

Aren was approached by a lovely Nixie, he was not nearly as xenophobic as some others of his race, sure he was raised in the culture but to him as a performer he would love all races equally. At first his shyness closed his throat but then he remembered to turn on the charm and gave a smile to the nixie. When she offered her hand he took it and placed a small peck on the back of it. "I wasn't expecting my partner to be so lovely." he instantly blushed since the whole smooth and charming thing didn't come natural to him at all. He was quite the awkward clutz. "I am Aren" he pointed to his name tag. He felt he had already made a fool of himself and had nothing to really add.

Kara couldn't help but let out a deep breath. She wasn't quite into the whole Speed Dating thing. Quite frankly, if she had her way she wouldn't be here. She wasn't into dating, at all. Perhaps it was strange for someone her age to have absolutely no attraction to her peers, but she didn't. Her family kept telling her it was a phase and that she'd eventually find someone she was attracted to, but she wasn't quite so convinced. Despite that, it was her older sister who had signed her up on behalf of their parents. She told Kara that even if she didn't find someone she liked, she could at least tell them that she tried and it might satisfy them for a little while. Kara wasn't sure, her parents had a way of sticking their noses into things, but she figured she'd go along with it just in case, even if it was only a month or two of silence.
Letting out a breath, she tried her best to not look bored or annoyed. It wasn't, of course, the fault of the junior she had been paired with and she didn't need to take it out on them. And hey, who knew, maybe she'd make a friend? She just hoped she didn't disappoint the other person too much because it certainly wasn't her intention to derail the night they had planned for themself.

Briena couldn't help but nibble her lip, she always did when she was nervous, it was an entirely bad habit that she had picked up from freshlinghood. She remembered her parents always yelling at her about it, telling her it was gross and that it'd tear up her lips, but she couldn't help it. She smoothed out the wrinkles of her dress as she was guided to a table. To her surprise no one was there yet and she slipped in to the chair, trying to look as little self-conscious as she could, which, honestly, only made her all the more transparent.
She wondered what the other nightmare was like, rather they'd be tall or short, what color hair they'd have, but mostly rather they'd like her or not. It wasn't that she was necessarily looking for a partner after all this time, but her work took her far away and she didn't have an ability to socialize much. She was honestly looking for a friend, a night out for a change, she had been locked in her hotel room for so long she was beginning to forget what the sun was like. Even though she loved her job, there were nights she couldn't help but feel a little lonely, and someone to talk to for a change would hopefully help to relieve a lot of her tension.Briena Points: 8 Ember-babe Sorry for the double-quote! I had a question... do we add the points of our Junior and Senior together, or are they separate points?

Laviticus stepped in to the room and glanced shyly around. He wasn't exactly interested in seeing if he could hit it off with anyone, as his heart was rather set on a particular, flirtatious and pink Fallen boy he had met in his youth. The reason why he had come was because he had hoped he would find Charming here, and the two could have some more time to talk, seeing as they didn't seem to have any classes together.
The bags under Lavi's eyes were quite noticeable, though he had done what he could to cover them up. The boy was quite worn down, unfortunate for such a young person to be spread so thin, but his second hope for the event was to meet some people he got along with at least relatively well. Lavi wanted to build himself a network. His family had fallen apart, and the boy now felt alone and lost.
"Instead of Speed Dating ... maybe Speed Friend Acquiring? That ... does sound a bit silly. Heh ... " Laviticus frowned a little at himself, but resolved to sign up, stepping forward to one of the tables where the supervisors sat, and quietly leaned in and gave his name.
"Please take a seat at table 8!" was what the teacher had told him, and the boy glanced over his shoulder, looking for the number on the table that would match the one he was given.
Nobody was there ... perhaps he would be unlucky and not be paired with anyone? The room had filled with older nightmares, and a few of his own age, but like his father, he was uninterested in girls, and had a rather difficult time connecting with them. He silently hoped the other side of the table would not be filled by a female, slowly sliding in to his seat, holding one of his arms nervously, occasionally rubbing it as he stared around the room, wondering who is his first 'pairing' might be.
From across the room he eyeballed a plushie he saw that rather reminded him of his Charmstar. He'd have to nab it for him later ...

On his way back to the table with his plushie, Galan saw a pink Junior slide into his booth and felt a mild panic curl his tail under. Just keep calm, this is why you came. He tried to reassure himself, but with each step he took forward, the more nervous he became. The youth had a languishing sort of melancholy around him, despite his beauty and elegance. Galan's heart went out to him, and his own nerves settled as concern for the other took over.
He slid into the booth and sat the plushie up on the table. "Hello," he offered simply, holding his tail beneath the table for support. "I'm Galan," he added, as that seemed the safest way to start things off.

The boy lifted his head as he heard the voice of another, unsure of what to expect. His eyes scanned over the face of the Goblin standing over him, and the hybrid found himself smiling gently in response to the daydream's greeting. "Hello." he spoke softly. "My name is Laviticus ... but I also go by Lavi and Pip ... " the boy lifted his hand in greeting to this new acquaintance, making sure his litch claws were visible to the boy so he wouldn't cut himself as he gripped his hand, his tendrils ghostly like vapors on a cold night.
"It's nice to meet you." Again, that same soft tone. "My baby sister is a goblin hybrid, or so I hear ... though. I admit, I have never met a Goblin myself. So this is a pleasant turn of events. Perhaps you can help me to best understand that side of her ... if ... if that's ... alright, and not too forward of me?" Perhaps bringing up his partner's race so soon wasn't the best choice he could have made, but Lavi couldn't deny his curiosity.

"Pip?" he couldn't help but ask, wondering if there was a story that went along with that moniker. He reached out to take the dainty little hand, feeling the dry chilled fingers and thinking better of kissing it in greeting, despite the song playing in the back of his mind.
He settled into his seat rather speechlessly as the other began asking about being a Goblin. "I..." He rubbed at his ear self-consciously. "Well, I'm sure I don't know. Have you not asked your sister? Or...or the Goblin that imbued her Stone?" He fretted his tone might be coming across more rudely than intended. He made an effort to soften his already soft voice "It's just that I was born Above, so I'm not sure if the same mores hold down here..." He paused, peering into the dark, soulful eyes and offered a gentle smile.
"What's it like being a Litch-Geist?" he asked instead. Fair was fair, after all.
