Cat's Name: Broderick
Nicknames: Brody, Fluffball, Mop, Fuzzball
Breed: Maine Coon
Attached to: Sailor Alsafi (his Myammy, in his own words)
Alignment: Order Senshi
Blood Type: B
Fav. Food: Watermelon. If you've ever seen those videos of a cat eating a square of watermelon, put those out of your mind immediately. Brody does not devour it neatly, bite by bite - he is a little fiend who will shove his entire face into a piece and devour it without stopping until his face is stained with juice.
Hated Food: Tuna and cat food. Why do people keep shoving that at him? There's more metal in tuna than fish! And cat food? That garbage is definitely neither for cats, nor actually food.
Hobbies: Napping: It's easy to take for granted that cats like to sleep, but Brody takes napping and makes an art form of it. This kitten enjoys finding the most unusual - and often, most inconvenient for others! - spots to nap in, and proceed to doze off for hours. He loves sleeping, and especially loves sleeping in places that make people wonder how in the world he even managed to get into that spot, let alone how he could be comfortable enough to sleep! Now, getting back out? That's another story, but hey, he can take care of that after his nap is over.
Singing: Can a cat carry a tune? Well, the answer to that question is... surprisingly, yes! At least to his own ears, and Brody's never bothered trying to sing where anyone else can hear him. Karaoke nights aren't something he's interested in - the stars are Brody's audience and a rooftop is his stage. Once night falls, this kitten likes to make his way to the nearest roof and find a comfy perch, and then belts out whatever tune comes to his mind. Often these are old rock songs, and are accompanied by his own sound effects during what would be guitar solos. The end result is... somewhat interesting, should anyone be close enough to hear it!
Virtues: Affectionate - To the people he likes, Broderick is a very lovey kitten. If he likes you, he will find a way onto your lap, or wind himself around your legs, or find some way to express his fondness for you. If you're sitting down, you can expect a kitty-hug and a nose kiss from a kitten who wants literally nothing more than to sit and spend time with you, to take part in whatever you're doing and simply shot to the world that 'this is my person and my person is great'. This isn't limited to his attached senshi in any way - if he likes you, he likes you, and that's all there is to it.
Compassionate - Broderick is always willing to lend an ear or a cuddle if a person is feeling down. If he's near somebody who's upset, Broderick will find it very hard to pass by without trying to help in whatever way he can. Usually this is simply accomplished by lending an ear and providing a warm kitten to snuggle, but it can extend to playing cute in order to offer a distraction and, on the rare occasion (usually involving a senshi or other powered, offering whatever advice he can. Granted, his advice isn't always that great, but he means well and knowing that someone cares, even if that person is a small, fluffy kitten, can make all the difference in someone's life. Broderick is well aware of that fact, and it's because of this that he simply cannot walk away from someone who's suffering.
Clever - There's many different kinds of intelligence, and Broderick is an excellent example of someone whose smarts fall outside of the more traditionally-acknowledged 'book smarts'. He's not particularly well-read or knowledgeable in the general sense, but his mind lends itself well to on-the-spot plans, or solutions that someone more mainline-intelligent might not notice. It's a bit like the phrase 'thinking outside the box', but in Broderick's case it's more like the box isn't even there, and so he comes up with ideas that may appear to come out of nowhere - but that have a knack for working out anyway, barring outside interference (or plain old bad luck).
Flaws: Lazy - Not entirely unexpected given that one of his hobbies is napping, but Broderick is a very lazy little cat. Motivating him to actually go out and do something instead of lie around and soak in the sun comes down to a battle of wills - or a human willing to pick him up and carry him away from his chosen spot! His laziness isn't just physical, however. Brody is, to put it simply, slothful. He isn't often willing to put in a lot of effort on much of anything, more likely to choose the quick and easy path or take shortcuts so that he can go back to his napping all the sooner. Needless to say, this can end up causing more trouble than simply putting forth the effort in the first place ever would have.
Taciturn - Sometimes, you really need to open your mouth and talk to someone. Unfortunately for Brody, he tends to be unaware of this fact and will keep his own council to the point that he actively withholds information that he really should share. For example, if a particular type of food makes him nauseated, he's more likely to simply refuse to eat it than to explain why he doesn't want to 'just try a bite'. This extends from the mundane to the dangerous, however, as he can and will avoid cautioning someone or speaking out about people or situations he doesn't trust, despite any possibility of a real danger being presented. If he doesn't think his senshi should go into that creepy storage building alone and should wait for backup... well, he won't like that they want to do just that, but will he say as much? No. This reluctance to draw attention to himself or uncomfortable topics is a very pronounced flaw of Broderick's, and one that he needs to work on before it gets someone (possibly himself) hurt.
Anxious - Brody is a worrier. If there's something that might be mildly concerning, Brody's worrying about it. Where his senshi is, what's happening to them, are they safe, is his next meal going to come tonight and oh no what if it's tuna?!? It's no wonder this kitten sleeps as much as he does, because he can very easily exhaust himself coming up with new things to worry over. This anxiety is generalized rather than linked to a specific situation or environment, and so it can be very difficult for Brody to escape his anxiety without outside reassurance. He's also prone to panic attacks, and needs to find a safe place or person to hide in and recuperate. He isn't anxious 100% of the time, but anxiety can and does hit him out of nowhere, so one moment he could be perfectly fine and the next minute he will have shot up the nearest tree to cling to a branch and yowl.
Challenge: Meow myah! Am I doing it right?
