 "I cannot wait to tell Aether." Yuki beamed with glee at the news she carried. As agreed, she had returned to her family to tell them of her good fortune. There had been some trepidation at telling them since it had only ever been her and them. Now Aether had entered her life and she would be leaving them to stay with his herd. Yuki was uncertain of how they would react. Thankfully, everyone had been excited for her. There would still need to be a meeting of the family, of course, but the largest hurtle had been overcome in her mind. After spending a few days with her family, Yuki decided that it was time to get back to Aether so they could plan. She had been flying for some time when thirst grasped her. Fortunately, a large river snaked its way off to her left, winding its way to the ocean. Tucking her wings against her body, Yuki gracefully descended to the river's edge. Her wings fluttered briefly before finally settling against her sides as she bent her head to drink. A new chapter has begun. The future looks bright!

Jökull grimaced as he emerged from a large lake near the mouth of a river. He'd been told by a Seathi that there was a rumor of a sunken treasure in that lake. Of course there was nothing there at all... He snapped his sharp teeth together at the idea of tearing that lying little creature apart, he walked down the river the water splashing around his ankles as he strode back to his oceanic home. Halfway there he saw something, a blue blob in the distance and turned his head so his one good eye could get a look at it. The blob slowly became a mare. A very beautiful mare... With wings similar to his own. 'Angeni blooded... Like me?' He thought. His mind began to race. What a treasure! He had to have her...
Walking forward with a cocky stride he put a smile on his face and spoke aloud, "Ho there stranger! You friendly?" He was initially trying to lure her into a false sense of security by acting the kind traveler. His back tail fin flipped side to side almost like it was wagging. Conscious of what it was doing he stopped it and let it drag in the water. Needed to keep his fins wet after all.

Aether had been out watching the skies around his herd. His little Thalatte had had her babies just the night before. Two babies! They were healthy and in their baskets and she was resting and getting back to her self now. She had been so huge he was sure that the babies would be large in body like his line was more often then not, traits from his amazing father that had passed on to his son and his grandson who was the father. He was never more proud of his family then to see how strong she had been bringing them into this world the other night. And he couldn't wait to show them to Yuki and let his adopted daughter Thal meet his new mate. Soon Shvara would be home and would meet her too. He hoped that she would accept this new female he was growing so much, every day, to love deeply.
He watched the skies for the five days it should have taken her to get there see them and be back. It was mid afternoon and he watched the skies, wings settling around his body, the tips resting on the grass as he looked around hoping she would show up soon. He had missed her and he longed to see her again. Oden settled on his back and played with his hair a little, working out a knot that the wind had made in his long hair. "I hope she is safe out there Oden...I smell some trouble in the wind and i can hope only that it passes by my new love. I could not deal with losing another loved one." he said softly.
Oden fluttered his wings and settled them around himself again. "She will be ok. And you will not lose her. She will come back or you will save her. There is not in between." he said knowingly as he went back to the knot in Aethers mane.

Yuki closed her eyes as the cool water ran down her parched throat. It was every bit as refreshing as she thought it to be. She stayed like that for a moment, enjoying what nature had to offer, until a voice called out to her. Lifting her head, Yuki searched for the owner of the voice till her gaze fell upon a Soquili further down stream. "That is a rather unusual question to ask." Her tone held a mixture of curiosity and friendliness in it. She had met only a few others on her travels, all of whom had been kind with no ulterior motives. There had been on reason to think otherwise of this stallion either. "But, in answer to it, I am indeed a friend. Do you live here? I apologize if I've bothered your home..."

Jökull smiled as she answered him, oblivious to his true intentions and nature. He was elated that she was so... Naive. 'Such an easy catch...' He thought. "Not a strange question considering where I've been. There are some seedy folk around that could look as innocent as you." He was playing with her like a cat would a mouse. "Oh no, you are not intruding m'dear. My home lies down on the beach in a two-legged ship." He paused, baiting the trap, "Would you care to visit? You look like you could do with a rest..." And that was it. The trap was set... Would she fall for it?

Yuki tilted her head to one side, curious about the stallion's words. "I have never heard of such places." She stated simply though hesitantly. A place where untrustworthy individuals lived did not sound like a good place. The stallion's words made her wonder exactly how much she knew of the world. "Oh?" Her voice held a hint of curiosity when he told of his home. Yuki had never seen the great ships of the two-leggeds. Only the land-based carts and other instruments. However, the day was growing late and Aether would be awaiting her arrival. "While it is a lovely invitation, I'm afraid that I must decline. I merely stopped for some water. My destination is not much further..."
