She didn't know why exactly but walking here was nearly prompting her to tears. But Altair was fighting to keep herself from crying and instead was taking breathes as deeply as she could manage with what calmness she could muster, shakily yet softly inhaling and exhaling to some degree. Despite endeavoring to breath, she still was finding it difficult. And yet, she pressed on, continued to walk but kept at the center as she stayed on a path between the cells and took small glances toward the confining spaces at both sides as she proceeded. Perhaps it was not only the sights around her now but also recalling what she has been hearing and what she has been experiencing as a senshi thus far that had her debating allowance of any tears. And then her gaze paused upon landing on one individual among those being held captive. It was Amphitrite. But they had not exchanged names the last time their paths had clashed, no, Altair knew her only by looks. And before she was aware of it, her voice left her throat as she stopped and stood in front of Amphitrite's cell. Altair faced towards Amphitrite as she spoke but did not leave the center path between the cells, acknowledging the distrust and fear that kept her guarded for the most part. "U-um, we have met, haven't we?" Her voice was coarse and she cleared it quietly before attempting to speak again, "W-we have fought before but would you be willing to talk with me now trying for no fighting between us this time around? I'm Altair. I-I have questions I would like to ask you. Among them is: What is your take about all this fighting we are a part of?" And then she halted her words there to listen if who she has addressed would choose to respond to her.

Amphitrite, bound to the fold-out bed by her pulled-tight bonds of raw silk (not by her captors, but by herself, struggling violently whenever no one was there to see it - she did not want to give the satisfaction), did not endeavor to look away from the ceiling above her head. Her jaw was set, her expression unreadable, although her chest rose and fell with breaths more labored than they should have been. Her skin all but shone with a sheen of sweat, her hair sticking about her face in an unruly mess.
We have fought before. Really, without looking it could have been any number of people - but she could recall that soft, plaintive voice, coupled jarringly with her stinging little needles. The one from the carnival, then.
"Trying. You speak as though I've got a choice in the matter you silly, stupid girl, " she hissed lowly, her voice hoarse from a dry throat. So typical of the white moon though, wasn't it? "But by all means. Ask what you please, darling. I can't promise you'll much enjoy what I've got to say."
She talked big. But this - how had she worked so hard to be rendered a victim again, how dare they do this, how could she still be so damn weak the room was tight her wrists ached let her go let her go -
"My take on this war is I'm going to see all of you rot in hell for this."
Then, she gave a charming smile, aimed nowhere but at the ceiling. "Not that you know why. You're probably just as ignorant as I was, aren't you darling? You're probably new, right? - was that battle with me your first big one, hm?"

Against her own skin below her choker, Altair lifted a partially clenched hand and applied a bit of pressure. She has been slow to learn, slow to capably find and even catch puzzle pieces to examine thus far as a senshi. However, she was recognizing that she was gathering more of those puzzle pieces now and little by little she was learning more and more but painfully, this was a painful process as well in more than one sense. Other questions ran through her mind. One of them that crossed her thoughts after finding words to express what she was trying to put together were with regards to why Amphitrite had chosen to change. However, this was a question she next thought of various possibilities behind with regards to experiences and such. Because what Amphitrite said implied that she had switched sides. And if that was the case, Altair realized that this was perhaps also an option for her. But upon further thought, Altair found that she was not drawn to such an option since from what she was comprehending, it seemed that upon switching sides such a change may be for the worse while the state of matters would be no closer to ending this war. "T-that was the second occasion I had fought with magic. I am presently still new and ignorant, yes, a-and I honestly don't know if that will ever change. H-however, from what you have told me, I think it is possible that though I feel a difference between the kind of magical existence we are, the types of beings we both fall under in whatever category are capable of dangerous actions. A-also, I'd like to ask: how do you find working with your comrades? F-for example, do you feel that your well-being, your life is threatened by those you fight alongside with if you make decisions that are not well received? A-and does your faction operate towards achieving goals regardless of harming others?"

Too many words all at once. Amphitrite shut her eyes and swallowed hard, trying to process them - but the darkness of her lids did not linger long. There were just as many nightmares there as there were here, and there was no escape from them now, was there?
Slowly, she tilted her head, sparing the senshi a proper glance. Bits and pieces had gone over her head, her usual precision somewhat dampened given the circumstances - but - "You almost make it sound as though you're interested, darling." Her tone was not exactly warm. But nor was it hostile. Even given the circumstances, she was no fool.
A wry smile pulled at her lips.
"As for how I'm treated. You're asking the one the order left to rot and die a year back - and now they think they're clever holding me hostage - isn't life funny that way?" Her laughter was humorless. "I'd say anything's an improvement over that, wouldn't you?" She dragged her tongue over too-dry lips, tasting the salt of her own sweat. "Even if not for that, darling, the Negaverse has been kinder to me than the order ever was. You'd be wise to get out now. We take care of our own. And we do not actively seek to harm anyone, no - "
She sighed out a breath, frustrated at how it shook. "We protect the Earth. It's senshi like us that are invading, darling, but we're able to fix it - we're able to make it right and truly become a part of something. That's why the senshi are so divided, you know, why so many fall between the cracks. They have rulers who squabble amongst each other, people who once ruled their own domain and desperately crave that power over others again - the Earth already had a Queen, and she's the one that rules over us, unites us."

"I-I'm so sorry to hear that you've suffered," Altair took a breath after her words and it was shaky as well. "A-and thank you for sharing with me all that you have about your thoughts on all that is happening and encompassing magical forces at odds." Altair swallowed and went on to share some of her own thoughts further. "Admittedly, I-I feel that I would feel more at ease forming more thoughts and making large decisions with more experiences and lessons learned. At this time, I find it hard to know left from right even when it comes to this magical reality I have entered not so long ago. However, right now I feel that I do w-want to keep trying not to strike first and to defend against any harm towards those seemingly defenseless. I will continue to endeavor and improve at not being quick to clutch any misunderstandings and acting with little consideration of factors involved. From my present experiences as a senshi so far, I feel that I have been going about much of my days with attempts at learning what I may from encounters along the way as I search for answers that fall under my questions. Yet, despite the challenges of endeavors of comprehension and to be a better survivor on far reaching battlegrounds, I do not feel oppressed by those I feel similar to magically in being the senshi I currently am."

I'm sorry. Old and tired words, very rarely with anything to bolster it. Amphitrite could forgive it more coming from someone who knew nothing, though.
There were entirely too many words there, fancy words that felt much akin to a young girl trying on her mother's dress and shoes; it just didn't quite fit. The corrupt shut her eyes again halfway through the girl's speech, drawing slow breaths in and out between her teeth.
One thing she felt safe taking from it: "Your call, darling. But bear in mind, I was once young and naive too. My mistake cost me more than a month tied to a chair and a lifetime of memories gone. You'd do better to protect yourself before you're left with no other option."
It was not flat out hostility, but more her own barely quelled fears and rage that had her murmuring out, "If you've got your mind made up and no other questions to ask though, then can we continue this conversation another time?" She was in no place mentally for a moral debate, and she had enough of her wits about her to know that. "Unless you can tell me who all is caught up in all this with me, or you're feeling inclined to release my bonds, I'm feeling rather tired, darling."

"T-thank you for advising me," and finally tears did begin slipping down her cheeks silently. "Still in, in my ignorance, I admit that I feel my hands are tied on both accounts. I-I shall take my leave now until we meet again. I-I'll be keeping you in my thoughts," and with those parting words she took one step to the side and paused for a moment then at last she turned and continued on the center path now making her exit. frayedflower Hana, eep thank you very much for teh RP of wonders crying
