Aedre ran through the streets near the university, dashing to catch up with his Academy mates. He had gotten distracted by the architecture around him that he had gotten separated from his peers.

Him and his age group had gone to tour the universities so it could help them decide what path they wanted to embark on in their adult life. Aedre was one of the many who was entirely unsure, but he had a feeling that perhaps his appreciation and love of fine buildings might be a hint for his future career endeavors.

With his notebooks and binders stacked and tucked under his arm and rather full bag banging against his thigh painfully, and there simple fact he was literally booking it to try and find his classmates made him look like a rushing, late university student as the imp ran up the steps two at a time.

"I can't believe I'm late!" the boy cursed to himself. This didn't feel like him at all. At least, not to Aedre. To his peers, he had always seemed a bit aloof and stuck in his head -- shy and retiring. But in truth, Aedre had passions simply waiting to unfurl and grow under the right conditions. He just had to ... learn to explore himself.

Panting and heaving as he reached the top of the tall steps, Aedre leaned over and tried desperately to catch his breath, and in the process dropped all of his books everywhere, and with a gasp, the imp tried desperately to pick them all up again.

Evan frowned the slightest, pulling her coat over her shoulders as she walked through the halls of the university. While some days going back to school sounded more exciting than the headaches of trying to establish her business, the Imp was still positive it was not the life for her. With a short sigh, she combed her claws through the ends of her short hair. She still came by often, simply for the fact their library was open to the public and while not all of the documents were very old, they did help in researching the items she had passing through her store.

While Caper was never a headache, she only had a few hours before he came home through the portal from the Academy, and she had a few things she wanted to sort before then. Evan made a soft sound as she kicked something, the book going flying and down of the step. She stumbled the slightest, catching herself on the railing for the first step. "W-what," escaped her, eyes drifting down. Immediately she dropped into a half crouch on the step, grabbing the nearest book. How dignified of her, she completely missed the scene on the staircase.

"Apologies," she offered, pursing her dark lips as she tried to collect as much as possible. Evan dropped down a few steps, reaching for the book she had all but punted down to the bottom. She climbed back up, holding up her skirt the slightest so she wouldn't trip over the bottom. Evan held it out to the boy, expression otherwise blank. "I am sorry if I helped make you late."

Aedre's tail draped over a few of the steps below him as he stacked on book on top of another. He had hardly noticed one of his books go skittering across the pavement, thanks to someone's foot, barely looking up to see where it went as he tried to focus on collecting the ones nearby.

Just as the boy had been about to hop up to fetch the rest of his books, a pair of hands were the first thing he saw as the handed him back his things. "Oh!" Aedre blinked lucidly, taking the book back gently from the woman's hands, offering a polite smile. "Thank you for the help," he squeaked slightly, a little embarrassed as his cheeks flushed. "No, it's not your fault at all. I probably spilled my books everywhere long before you came along. I appreciate the thoughtfulness and the help all the same. Just call me the White Rabbit. I always seem to be running late. Entirely my fault ..."

The imp placed the last of his books on top of his stack and scooped the armful unsteadily in his thin arms. "Again, thank you so much ... much obliged."

She shifted her head to the side just the slightest, her ears lifting the slightest at the comment. What a title to be claiming. Evan didn't care for being late, for it made some bad impressions. And yet, here the Imp was. Maybe he really wasn't in that much of a hurry. "You are welcome," she returned in an even tone. Her eyes dropped to what was in Aedre's arms, slightly curious to what he was possibly blowing off.

"Quite the collection you're carrying," Evan commented, trying to piece together what kind of major this boy could be. It was simple curiosity for it was not like Evan even came to the University regularly enough to even have a chance to cross paths again. "Undecided?" the Imp asked in the way of his major, her tail sweeping behind her as she adjusted the strap of her bag.

Aedre blinked at her comment, not sure of how to answer as he peered down at his books. This was the standard workload for the advanced classes at the Academy, and Aedre had never really thought twice about how extensive of a collection it might truly be.

The boy gave a short laugh before shrugging his shoulders easily and gently. "I suppose you could say that! I have quite the thirst for knowledge. There's just so much beauty in the world. It's kind of hard to pick a favourite subject. Though I do find myself leaning towards architecture, but from an artistic standpoint. I love when people get in to the really fine details and embellishments on a structure and how it ties in with its surroundings. The fine lines and subtle swirls in the molding. I especially love turrets ... one day I wish to own a home that has a turret with a deck so I can paint out in the sun. I'd probably keep a small study with a library crawling up the walls. I find cylindrical libraries very aesthetically pleasing ... ah, but I suppose I'm talking your ear off, aren't I? Again, I apologize. I'm sure you have far better things to be doing with your time than staying here crouched up with me discussing what one is interested in." His true colours were shining through a little. Among his own peer group he was rather reticent, and Aedre had always felt more comfortable speaking with those who were older than him. It was why most of his friends were teachers, likely.

Well, that wasn't exactly what she had anticipated coming off of the other Imp's lips. The subject was sort of refreshing though, and she tilted her head the other way as she looked down the slightest at Aedre. "So I take it older architecture and the doodles of old primers and legends excite you," was what Evan decided on, her golden eyes sparked with a slight curiosity. Evan could appreciate old architecture. The building her tiny corner of shop sat in was apart of the older district - it all had a charm, though that was basically Below in a nutshell.

"It's alright. I was only on my way to tidy and finish an errand before my son came home," Evan admitted honestly, seeing no reason to hide that detail. Some acted rather odd at the mention of children, but she was very fond of Caper. He was a model child. "I have my own collection of artistic baubles, but I like them more for not being apart of the present. It makes them more unique," she explained, dragging a claw over the fabric of her bag idly. She couldn't remember the last time she had a proper chat with someone that wasn't her son or bartering.

Aedre could feel his enthusiasm bubbling up inside of him, and he could hardly hold back. "Oh, yes!" the imp gushed, suddenly rising to his feet as he clutched all his books tightly to his chest, nearly spilling them everywhere again. Luckily, the boy caught himself, looking a touch embarrassed again. "Ah, pardon me." Aedre excused his behaviour with a soft chuckle. "It is true, though. Whenever I get to see the old designs even on a screen or a piece of paper my heart and soul simply sing! I think it may very well be my life's calling, but I'm not sure if it will be one of those passions you adore and love ... so long as you don't have to do it for a living. I'm a little fearful of that. I see so many people go in to university and come out completely soul-sucked and drained and hating their lives. I very much want to avoid that. I feel, though, that architecture may not be that way for me. I think I could see myself doing it for a living. Designing buildings ... I can only imagine the feeling of pride swell through me if one of my designs was ever made into something tangible! That would be the ultimate dream!"

Aedre had to keep himself from spinning, and again the boy's cheeks flushed. "Aah, I get so carried away." he explained, shifting the weight of his books and binders in to one fluffy arm as he pushed his bangs from out of his eyes so he could see better.

"My name is Aedre, by the way. And I'm sure you make a lovely mother. It sounds as though you have rather fine tastes, and anyone with such an appetite would most assuredly make a most impressive mother."

Evan reached out a hand, a bit fearful that the shorter Imp would indeed spill his books everywhere again. She remained quiet though, observing with her bright golden eyes. She shifted her weight the slightest, dragging her claws through the fluff at her neck so that it laid perfectly flat again. "I suppose those were some of my fears too," the Imp admitted, her long ears bouncing briefly, a soft twitch as she thought. "I skipped University so that I could immediately be invested in my work. Much easier to learn by experience than twice over." She pursed her dark lips, watching as Aedre floundered. "I only come here now to check out materials from the library. They seem not to know any better."

She brushed away his apology by not acknowledging it at all. It did not matter to. Having passion for something wasn't exactly unsightly, even if she did prefer to remain composed herself. "It's nice to meet you," she returned, committing the name of the chocolate-colored Imp to memory. "I am Evan," the older Imp informed, something of a faint smile on her lips. She didn't often take compliments, but his enthusiasm at least seemed genuine. Caper was her perfect babe after all. "I don't believe parenting skills translate all that directly, but I appreciate the sentiment."
