Arian hadn't thought much about it initially when he'd come home to find that Orah was still out, because it wasn't the first time that one or the other of them had come in late from patrolling as their powered counterparts.
Instead he had left a note on the kitchen counter to let her know that there were sugar cookies if she wanted them and had slipped into his room to wrap up the clutch bag that he'd picked up a few days ago as a Christmas present for her.
And then he'd gone to work a bit more on the necklace that he was making for Saffy's birthday present.
He'd awoken groggily to find the greyness of the December light at the window and had gone to feed Lola.
The sugar cookies were still on their plate and the note on the counter. Neither of them had been touched.

Arian felt a tinge of unease when he came back from an impulse trip to the grocery shop only to find out that Orah was still out, slipping out from the apartment after setting down the bags so that he could find somewhere to power up.
As Athene he summoned his senshi phone and checked his messages but there was nothing there from the Orchid senshi that was his team mate and friend.
And so he tapped out a message of his own, hitting send when he was done.
Ida, it's Athene. Are you on Ida again? I didn't see a note so I was a little worried. If you're not and you need a hand with something then feel free to call. You know I won't mind.
The message went off but no response came back.

Perhaps there was a reason for her sudden disappearance - perhaps she really was on Ida and had just forgotten to tell him... Perhaps he was just overreacting.
After Ida was an eternal senshi and strong with it.
But it had been two days...
Two days with nothing and it wasn't like Ida to not leave a message.
He spent the day as Athene walking the city and checking for auras and in particular the distinctively clear aura that he associated with Ida and then met up with Liryn and did the same at night.
In between he periodically checked his senshi phone for messages and sent messages of his own:
Ida are you on Ida?
Ida is everything okay?
Ida please call when you get this. Or leave a message.
But as before there was no response.

On the third day, after checking his messages, Athene pinged a message to the other members of the PSSG. To Chaonis, Navi and even to Tsui who seemed to be on her asteroid more often than not these days.
The message was a short but simple one:
Have any of you heard from Ida?
Liryn and I haven't seen her in three days. The two of are looking, please let me know if any of you have heard something.

Then he sent another message to Ida:
I told the team and Liryn and I are going to keep looking until we find you.

He ended up getting into an argument with his cousin, because she rang the apartment phone unexpectedly to ask about meeting up. Arian had picked it up and a part of him had hoped...
And then felt disappointed when he had realised that it was Saffy and not Orah.
His cousin had been unhappy when he cancelled their planned afternoon tea meet up and even unhappier when she had pushed him about whether he was going to go to the family Christmas meet up and he had admitted that he was planning to cancel.
He stared at the phone for a long moment and then set down the handset as her final words echoed in his ears.
