Rules

Please only post when the title states a class is open.
You may enter only two students per class!
Do not claim growth points for your student until the class is over and Rain has quoted you stating you have passed.
Should you do the assignment incorrectly I will quote you to correct it, and if it is not corrected before the class ends your character will get a failing grade.
Please do not post in this thread beyond turning in your activity, homework, or rping turning in said activity or homework. If you have questions please PM me, and if you want to rp between students please create a separate thread in the roleplay subforum for that.

Class Activity

Dessert Rush!

She had her back to the classroom, writing on the board while the students took their seats. Time limit projects like this could both be accelerating and stressful, which was a good taste of how some days in a kitchen go. Finishing the list of the hypothetical dinner and the ingredients for each course, she turned around and put her fists on her hips, giving her class a smirk.

"Alright everyone, here's the deal. Imagine you're hosting a rather large party, and the guests are already here. The dessert you made has taken a tumble and is all over the floor. but everyone will be sitting down for dinner shortly."

Here she pointed to the board to show what the dinner's courses looked like, with the line for dessert now scratched out.

"This activity is two-fold. You have twenty minutes to decide what dessert to make to replace the one that was ruined, as well as gather the supplies you need from the pantry here. Then you'll have an hour at your stations to actually try to create the dessert you chose. The goal is to have the dessert done and ready for your guests by the time they get to that course, but you have to use an ingredient that's already found in one of the other courses. Such as raspberries from the appetizer, since the idea is using what you have on hand to make something in a limited time frame. Everyone ready?"

The Dinner
Appetizer: Raspberry Basil Canapes
First Course: Waldorf Salad
Main Course (meat option): Ham steak with cranberry/mustard glaze
Main Course (vegetarian option): Black bean and mango tostadas
Dessert: ????

What your student needs to do

Decide on a dessert that takes less than an hour to prepare.
Make sure it requires an ingredient that's found in one of the other courses.
Roll a d4 with your post, the higher the number, the better the dessert came out.
The dice roll does -not- affect your chance at passing, so much as giving you something to work with in terms of rp.
It's not always the student's fault either if something turns out badly, keep in mind.
Your rp response should be at least a paragraph.
They are welcome to share their creation with the class, or with their friends after class (just take it to a private rp thread).

Link to the Recipe they'll be using: Mushroom and Beef Saute
Why this recipe: After leafing through her old worn cookbook, she came across her tried-and-true favorite comfort food dish: Mushroom and Beef Saute. It didn't include any dairy or dairy products, was relatively healthy, and was sure to please any mushroom-lover. (no substitutions needed)
Homework response: After doing a bit of research, Lydia sat down to write her homework response. One precaution I would take to ensure no one has an allergic reaction would be to wash my hands between each step in creating the dish. This ensures that there is no cross-contamination, even if the recipe didn't call for an allergen. I would also sanitize the work space, especially if I had been working with foods that might set off reactions.

Lydia thought she would just be taking a simple cooking class. Boy, was she wrong. She was almost bowled over by the complexity of the assignment, but like always, when faced with a challenge she rolled up her sleeves and showed it who was the boss. The fashion-forward Chimera diligently did her research, completed her write up, and turned in her assignment with a smile.

You Passed!

Sokeri bit her bottom lip. Attendance had been a bit sparse, maybe she'd been a bit overwhelming? They really needed more teachers to cover all the aspects of culinary art; she'd be much happier in charge of just pastries herself. Still, those that did show put in good effort, and she was proud of them

"Alright, thank you for attending, and good job guys. Hopefully I'll see you back here next semester."
