Alright, I'm caught in a deliemma at the moment with my Pokemon Leaf Green. I have two Pikachus, both at level 42, which I want to use in my team. However, I'm at a lose for which one to use, and evolve into a Raichu.

This whole problem started when I noticed my male Pikachu, Sparks, which I had raised from level 3, had a speed stat that was through the roof. Upon looking some info up on personalities online, I realised Sparks' Hasty nature made him gain alot of Speed, for the loss of his Defence.

Now, in my mind, since Pikachu's have natural low defence and high speed, I felt like this was a particulary negative nature for my Pika. So, I decided to see what would happen if I raised my female pika, Hikari (also caught at level 3) and see if she'd be better. Hikari has a Sassy nature, which takes away from speed and adds to special defence, so I decided see if there's anything difference between the two, and choose accordingly.

So, I got both of them to level 42, and I have noooo idea which one to pick! so, I decided to ask you, my fellow guild members, to help me. Here below are the stats to the two Pikachus, so please vote for which one you think I should use, and post why. Thank you ^^

Sparks (Male)
Hasty Nature
Level: 42
HP:89
Attack: 65
Defence: 33
Sp. ATK: 60
Sp. DEF: 49
Speed: 123

Hikari (Female)
Sassy Nature
Level: 42
HP: 89
Attack: 76
Defence: 36
Sp. ATK: 60
Sp. DEF: 52
Speed: 82

Hikari would be my choice, all it's stats are higher or same except for speed...and you could boost that by more training and maybe some things to help... 3nodding

Yeah, I agree, Hikari seems to be the best choice between the two. Sparks seems like he'd be better left as a Pikachu.

*nodnod* Hikari's the best choice, it seems. Its stats are more well-balanced, and it has better Defense. 3nodding

Hikari seems like the best choice. Sparkis may have better speed by training and 10 carbos may help change that to be closer, and you don't need a huge speed as Raichu is allready fast. I reccomend sticking with Hikari for the Raichu physical sweeper potential. Raichu, oddly enough, makes a surprisingly good physical sweeper. This is a nice example moveset:

Raichu@Brightpowder
Thunder Wave
Focus Punch
Iron Tail
Thunderbolt

With this set focus on attack and speed EVs, you want speed to paralyze opponents, your hope should be to trick them into switching thanks to paralisis. Flyers and waters might get hurt by your stabed thunderbolt as well, this set revolves around focus punching on a swich, for instace, if you bring in Raichu against a water or flying type it might provoke a swich, and if you can predict that swich you can safely use focus punch. Iron tail is a move that actually hurts ghosts and takes advantage of this Raichu's hgh attack, and has a chance to lower defense of opponents, making it usefull against opponents who don't swich such as those immune to paralisis or ground types.

no. sparks is the best choice. all of his stats would grow when he became a raichu - and speed would go drastically up. if you need to send out a pokémon and have it attack first, he'd be the perfect choice, and he could get you out of tight situations. i've a scyther, and when i was battling koga, all of my pokémon had fainted except for him, and i sent him out, hoping for a quick K.O. it worked, and i was able to beat koga. (or, for another solution, you could buy two thunderstones and alternate.)

Take Hikari, Pikachus don't have incredible special defense anyways. Pikachu is one of my favorite Pokemon, so in my opinion make it have the best defensive stats possible (even if sassy is one of my least favorite natures).

My opinion is that if you have to evolve a pika now then go with Hikari, but if you have some time, keep leveling up you make pika until hes like level 70 or something and then evolve him.
