First casino hell, then fleeing into the fog, then getting lost in the creepy hospital, then the earthquake... only to wake up in a bush in the middle of nowhere. How did she even get there, anyway? The highway was in sight, though, so there was that. A rustling noise in the nearby brush alerted her to the presence of an undying nearby. Oh boy.

She whipped out her fishing rod in time to shake the scrabbling creature off her legs. Why did she pick Ellen Reid, of all people, to dress up as? Goddamn sexy character designs...
Not that her chosen costume was extra-sexy or anything. It was one of the less-sexy costumes, in fact. It just had exposed leg flesh and this thing really wanted a taste.

She lashed at it relentlessly, trying to ward it off as she backed toward the road. There weren't any functional cars around, anyway, if the massive pileup in the distance had anything to do with it. She just wanted the thing to get off her case.

She readied her weapon as the creature leapt out at her, twisting her body to put as much force as she could into an upswing into its torso. There was a faint screeching sound, and it disintegrated into a cloud of black dust. Dissipated. Megan shook her rod, trying to flick off as much of the residue as possible. It wasn't so bad anymore, somehow. Maybe she was numb to the tension that permeated the city at this late stage. A lot had changed in the past few days, after all, and the experience in the casino especially drove home the fact that everyone here, all the survivors, were very, very mortal. Once you worked through that realization, though, things weren’t so bad anymore. This was their life now, what little remained of it. To survive as long as they could until they succumbed. If they were all infected, there wasn't much left to fear, except the really big undying.
She poked around the area, hoping to find any kind of supplies or food that might have survived out here.

There wasn't really much of anything on the roadside, but it was a long shot anyway. She did, however, find a card caught under a nearby rock, which went into her bag. Back to her travels. Hopefully there wouldn't be too many other undying milling about. But if there were, they’d have to eat her fishing pole before they got to her.
