"I didn't pick the sportscar, I just happened to see one with the keys still in the ignition," Jack argued with a little smirk. "It was my duty not to leave it behind, alright? Besides, it--"
Something shrieked closer than he liked, though it was deeper than the crawler's. Making a small face (rude, he wasn't finished), Jack summoned his weapon.

"F'it was somewhere else I'd make you drive me around in it." And probably do other unmentionable things in it too. Then again, knowing Jack he would probably be one of those assholes that kept the interior spotless.
She pulled her bow into existence as the creature roared in their face. She really wished she was still spooked by roaring; it was so lackluster now. If only she had her phone- she could take a snapchat for Chris to make fun of him.
"Look alive gorgeous," she said with a grin. Getting to beat things up was definitely making her feel better.

"Who says I can't still?" he shot back. This was the same guy who had made out with her while they had been in golems in Halloween. The apocalypse wasn't quite as romantic as that, but there was still an aesthetic quality to it that, well hell, if they were going to be stranded there they might as well take advantage of it.
Giving the undying a flat look for merely existing, Jack dug his sword in and jaggedly cut off one of its extraneous limbs.

Chel snickered; he was right, they could still sneak off. Buuut- "Gettin' eaten by a zombie in the middle of bonin' don't sound real hot Jack."
She fired an arrow into it's side, and while it left a burning, glowing gash, it didn't really seem to slow the big guy down. Note to self: big guys took a bit more to fight.

Jack thrust the sword into the wound her arrow created and hammered the gap just deep enough to finish it. With dual howls the undying dropped to the ground and began to ooze.
"You could always give me road head while I heroically keep us and the sleeping beauties away from the bad guys," he offered with a small wiggle of the brows. Her habits were starting to rub off on him.

Chel let out a real laugh at that; mostly because of the term road head. She thought it probably safer if Jack didn't crash his car because of that. She was into kink, not dying.
"In yer dreams princey," she told him, desummoning the bow again. Somewhere in the back of her mind she knew they should have been reporting in to the larger majority of the group, getting their civilians to safety, anything, but all she could manage at the moment was small fights, little moments with Jack.
She reached up to pull his face down to hers (damn giant). Her head hurt and it hadn't gone away, but he still found ways to weasel his way in. Picking up habits indeed.
"Not everythin' 'bout bein' a hunter's bad."

Given they were already close enough, he broached what little distance remained to give her a quick kiss, bloodied face and all. "It's pretty shitty," he agreed, "but not completely shitty."
A beat. "You ready to talk about it some more while we check on my midget?"

Not completely shitty was a good way to describe her whole life, really. She'd take the kiss though, even if it had to be short and compressed for the sake of mission professional atmosphere.
"Midget? Like a real one all tiny and s**t?" The idea actually intrigued Chel; she thought midgets were hilarious as ********, "Or you just sayin' midget 'cause everyone's short t'you." Valid question.

"I mean a midget as in she's ******** short, not a dwarf. I always get the incredibly short ones somehow." Maybe one day Jack would actually meet a little person, and then all hell would probably break loose or something.
Scanning around, he tried to pick out his Ferrari from the dump that was their surroundings. After a little bit, he recognized one that looked like it had about the same damage and the right color. Bringing out the keys, he drew near and hit the unlock button and was rewarded with a flash of lights and a little beep.
"Silver linings," he sighed.

"S'gorgeous," she said honestly, running a hand over the hood. A little beat up, clearly not shining the way it should have been, but gorgeous nonetheless. With a little work it could have been decent.
While Jack opened it up and looked for danger, Chel kept her eyes on the horizon, scanning for the first sign of trouble. "Not really a car person, but I like trucks. All big up high- feels like you can crush all the baby cars." Not exactly a sane mentality, but for a hunter maybe a good one. "She good?" Chel asked, referring to the civilian so they could return to talking.

He smiled a little to himself, rounding back to the same conclusion they had both touched upon: appropriate rides for the appropriate people. It really was a damn shame they wouldn't be able to bring these back, even if it would have meant runic-ing every last damn part and blowing his future paychecks to kingdom come--or at the very least he'd be broke for an entire year.
"Kind of want to see that now," he commented as he opened the door and ducked in, checking Fantasia for a pulse. Other than the bruise on her chest, she still seemed alright. "She's good."
