Temporarily released of her duties of looking after her human charge, Bopha sets off in search of any potential portals or ways to get herself back home and accomplish her duties of ensuring the humans are relocated somewhere safe. But all she sees is fog, endless fog, as she flies over the city in her true form at a much faster rate than she had been flying at with a fully grown adult human in tow.

Bopha is a thin and short Khmer girl wearing a plain white top and a green sampot around her waist. The neckline of her top is stained with blood. She has dark brown skin, jet black hair tied up in a loose ponytail, and brown eyes. A white moonflower is tucked into her hair above her left ear. When she opens her mouth, pointed fangs and a long tongue can be seen. Humans will see her as only a floating head with trailing organs; she is a creature from Cambodian and Thai folklore known as a Krasue or Arp. Her entrails are illuminated by a flickering glow that corresponds with her heartbeat.

Finding nothing, not even another human or that stupid horse thing, Bopha doubles back and starts heading back towards the parking lot where she'd left her human to go check on him, when suddenly the fog parts and a shadowy form emerges behind her. She doesn't even have to see it -- she can feel its presence, and the remnants of skin on the back of her neck p***k up. Its simplistic and hollow appearance did not make her feel terribly welcome at all, in fact she felt like she was about to get preyed on by this thing.
She'd been carrying her human's radio with her like some sort of baby monitor, and fumbles with it in a panic. "UUUUUUUUUUY!"

He basically sprinted over to what looked more comical than anything else, a ghostly representation of something that was flying around. It looked like it was chasing itself, except one--the one that hollered over the radio--was holding a radio while the other was just floating along like everything was hunky-dory. Clearly, everything was not hunky-dory.
Rhys waved just as he summoned Zephira. "Get it down here so I can actually reach it!" he called up, the tip of his sword actually resting lightly on the ground. He crouched slightly and waited for a good chance to strike...and hopefully he'd hit the right one. Nothing worse than a misunderstanding when you were trying to actually be nice for a change.

Bopha had no time to apologize for her ghastly appearance, and upon closer inspection, the thing that had risen from the mists had taken her form. Well, ain't that just great? The Ahp weaves around her doppelganger and starts to make a rapid descent towards the human Hunter, sprouting her student body the closer she gets to the ground (not that he can see that).
She reaches into her stomach and takes out the fishing rod that a length of intestine was wrapped around, flailing it in the general direction of the shadow. To other students, this might look reasonable. To the Hunter, on the other hand, it probably just looks really gross with floating intestines holding and using a fishing pole.
It was a puke-worthy sight indeed. So much so that he couldn't bring himself to look away, it was so...out of the ordinary. Thankfully he managed to snap back to it and re-focus on the shadowy, non-intestine-holding version of the Halloweener and he jumped and met it mid-air. He felt Zephira make contact, but not enough to do any serious damage.
He also felt the thing make a hit...somehow. With intestines of its own?
Rhys made a face as he landed, clutching the arm that got hit for a second before turning back around to get a proper look at his opponent.

Rhys lunged and slashed at the shadow, and it returned his attack blow for blow it seemed. It was lucky he was still learning how to properly wield a sword else he probably would have been more efficient with his attacks. As it was, he only managed to graze it slightly.

Vashti had been listening in on the radio when Bopha began yelling into it. At the mention of flying and no arms, she'd begun looking up for shadows, until she found the krasue floating in circles being chased by an undying shadow clone. She approached to help, rod in hand, but she noticed movement on the side of the road as she went. A large, lumbering mutant undying burst through the underbrush as she approached, and she was forced to turn and face it instead of helping as she originally intended.
The krasue had someone helping her, she'd be fine. The snake did not, she might not be. Not after the fight she'd just finished not too long ago at the casino with a shadow clone of her own, anyway. She winced a little at the bandaged wounds she'd sustained in that fight. That clone cheated, it pushed her buttons, played mind games with her the whole time. But this one looked to be holding her own.

Another slash to the monster, and he hacked off its arm this time! Still, it got another hit on him (to his back again, his jacket was getting torn up...) before he could get out of its way. And it still didn't want to die...

After her previous encounters with these shadow creatures, Vashti went for a faster strategy this time. This one was large, cumbersome, and slow. It also had two heads too many arms, but that was beside the point. It was a larger, slower target that would be easier to hit, and presumably easier to dodge.
So she whirled suddenly and advanced on it aggressively. One of the arms managed to smack her in the ribs before she raised her tail spiny tail around her to ward it off. She feinted with the spear tip, driving it into the ground and using her tail like a slingshot to throw herself up to swing. She was back several feet away again before she realized she'd struck out an eye on one of the heads with her rod.
With the shadow-thing dead he turned his sword against the big ugly thing nearby. Rhys jumped and swung his sword down again, making contact but only just grazing the thing. It dodged and socked him in the face.
