July's sense of paranoia had increased rapidly. He'd gone from hearing voices, to seeing things now. Fidgeting uncomfortably he swore his skin was crawling. No matter how much he rubbed or scratched at the locations. His eyes darted around uneasily, trying to make sense of what was real and what was his own minds invention. "I think we should try inside, maybe it'll be safer.." July's voice came in a soft whisper.
The hospital decor and musty old smell made him pull his shirt up over his nose to try and block out the scent. Making a face he shuddered in fear as he shied behind Jay just a bit. He felt off. In his peripheral vision seeing things in the darkness beyond. Or at least it seemed like it.
He wasn't really sure. "We'll just take it slow.." He added hesitantly.
OOC: Prompt 3 - Loss
Scenario requirements: Your character turns the corner and is suddenly greeted by an apparition of character of your choice, from either this meta OR from before it in their lives that was important to them. That character begins to talk to them, as if they were that person (just rp it out yourself for that part, as this is what your character THINKS is that character). Your character is CONVINCED that this is this person, and they are alive.
The apparition begins to accuse your character of things. They could be anywhere from "why are you making these choices" to "you did __ wrong". You feel paranoia and regret. If you are rping with multiple characters, for this part, you CANNOT see anything other than the apparition. The more they talk, the more the apparition's face, and body begins to rot, as if rapidly going through the stages of the infection. At the very end, you are left talking to an Infected version of the apparition, before it dissolves away. Their accusations never leave you

Jay nodded to his lover, letting him shy behind him. Normally, he was brave and adventurous but... His madness was rising and he could still feel himself fading slowly. He looked around the hospital the best he could without a light. "Good idea... take it slow.." He agreed, leading July in deeper. The voices that he had been hearing switched back and forth from sounding like him, his ex-wife, kids and Xia. They were never pleasant. 'It's your fault we died!' His kids voices would scream at him, followed by his ex-wife's voice, 'You never loved us!" Jay shook his head, trying to ignore the voices... they hurt him so much..
As they turned a corner, Jay jumped in fear. There.... was something.. no someone there! He took a step closer, looking to see who this other person was. They were talking to him. "X-Xia....? Y-You're alive?" He asked as he started at her in shock. What was she doing here?... How did she... His thoughts halted as she looked at him with hurt eyes. 'Why didn't you save me?... You left us for dead... weren't we family?' She said to him, stepping closer. Jay took a step back, his eyes misting. "I-I... I was scared! I'm s-so sorry Xia! P-Please! Please forgive me!" He shouted, reaching out to her.
He pulled his hand back as he noticed her face and body starting to slowly rot. Fear covered his features, his eyes wide... unsure what to do. 'You left us... after all we did for you.. everything... You let us die!' She yelled as she pulled a dead rotted fetus from her stomach. Jay screamed, stumbling back and frantically trying to get away from her. He sobbed, feeling vomit rising up. He watched as Xia became completely infected, repeating her words to him before dissolving completely. Jay felt dizzy, leaning to the side and vomiting several times before moving to cradle himself as he sobbed.

July froze in place, watching his husbands descending into madness. He wasn't sure what he was seeing at first, but he looked as if he'd seen a ghost. Following Jay's green gaze he frowned sadly as he saw nothing. Yet his words made his heart jump into his throat. He was screaming about Xia, she had been one of his dearest friends...and his brother’s wife. Tears flowed freely down his cheeks as he reached for Jay.
Things got worse very quickly. Soon he was screaming, and frantically pulling back. July's eyes widened, blinking in dismay as he stated at Jay, watching as he vomited the first few times. The smaller male was quick to join the others side, rubbing his back and whispering soothingly to him. "Shhh...it wasn't real.." He murmured, and for once it was July who held the other while he sobbed. July's fingers gently smoothed the others hair back as he looked around him. Panic and terror rose in him, what had all of that had meant just now...
Regret, guilt and sorrow swirled gnawed at him like a maddening hymn.
"Jay...talk to me.." He whispered, trying to coax the other back from whatever hell he'd just been forced to watch. July did his best to comfort his lover, pulling him close as he rocked the both of them in the confines of the little corner of the hospital they'd put themselves beside.

Jay snapped out of it, clinging to his lover as he sobbed. He was unable to explain anything for the time being... With July's comfort, he slowly slipped back to whatever sanity he had left. He wiped his tears from his face then his snot. He looked to July, his eyes broken. "I-I... Should have told you sooner... I'm so sorry..." He told him, pulling him into his chest. "Remember... how you really wanted a kid?...how you begged me to adopt but we couldn't get approved because.." He trailed off, not wanting to mention July's past being a factor. "... Xia's baby she was carrying... was ours." He explained, squeezing July tightly into him. "S-She did so much for us and we left her... I left her for dead... It's all my fault she is gone.. or that we will never have children... I-I don't deserve to live.." He mumbled, discouraged and hurting internally.

July's eyes went wide with surprise as he stared at his lover as he made his confession. He knew...Xia had been pregnat but what Jayson was telling him made him sob. At first from a moment of fleeting joy, remembering how far along she was...until the crashing reality of the last month and few nights since then.
His body sagged as he leaned into the other for comfort, his eyes staring blankly at the wall infront of him. "Jayson Slider...you are one of the most generous people I know. W..we both are too blame..we were scared and wanted to stay safe. It's not just you're fault..." He growled softly pulling the other up gripping his shoulders.
"Do..do you hear me?" Even past the tears, and the rising madness in his small frame, there was a fire in his mismatched eyes. He hurt so badly..his mind and body felt like they were breaking down. "I lo---" His words were cut short. There was a noise from somewhere inside the hospital. "We have to move..it's not safe here." He added in a somber tone, pulling the other up.
July wouldn't let him talk like that. If he wasn't able, neither was the blonde. "We've come this far...we have to keep trying to survive." He whispered to him, his eyes a reflection of the sorrow he felt. "No m..matter what.." He finally stated numbly, squeezing the others hand.
