With a sigh he pressed on. He wanted to make sure no one else was inside and the touch of cold he was starting to feel against his skin wasn't helping. The hospital had long since been abandoned, it was broken and crumbling around him but it still offered some sort of protection against the elements.
"Hitsu?" He tried not to call out as loudly now, he knew there were infected and probably undying nearby. Even inside he couldn't hope that this place would offer him that much security. "Rook?....Charlie?" He had still seen no one from his faction. Where were they all? Hopefully not in the forest, he hadn't stayed long enough to check all the bodies. Seeing the one was enough.
Shaking his head of those thoughts he pressed on. It couldn't be real. He was imagining things.
"Are you though?"
The voice was almost startling to hear. A flood of memories came with it, a painful nostalgia that gripped his heart reminding him of better days and things that were. "Y-Yu-" He couldn't get the name out, it was too painful to say but as he rounded the corner he found him there standing just as he remembered him looking well and more importantly alive.
"Hey big guy." There was a smile to greet him and Cecil felt like his heart was in his throat.
"Oh my god....you're," Cecil couldn't help the rush of emotion that filled him and he took the last few steps that were needed to close the distance and wrap his arms around his boyfriend. "You're alive." He choked his words out between a happy sob. "I was so worried I thought-"
"You gave up on me." The words were cold and unfeeling and it made Cecil's heart beat painfully in his chest.
"W-what?" He pulled back wanting to deny it but he couldn't. "Yu-, I'm....I'm sorry. I just-"
"You gave up on me." The apparition repeated, his face suddenly showing the signs of decay. "And worse you left my sister alone in this place. HOW COULD YOU?"
"I...I didn't mean. We got separated..." Cecil took a step back now, fear gripping him as he watched the decay spread across his boyfriend's face eating away at flesh until there was nothing but rot. "W-we need to get you help." God would there be time? Was there anything they could do? He still knew of no cure for the infection but maybe there was a way to slow it. Maybe if he found Corey or Caroline or Charlie they would be able to help. "P-please just come with me." He turned to his radio and immediately started to yelled into it. "Charlie are you there? Can you hear me? Charlie I need help!" But again only static.
"It's already too late." Cecil turned back and the apparition's face fell away. He nearly dropped his radio and only managed to keep hold of it in a vice like grip.
"No. Stop. Please." He shook his head, fear gripping him as the man he had loved fell victim to the virus right before his eyes. It was so rapid and vicious as it tore its way over his body. Long chunks of hair fell to the ground in his wake as he made his way toward Cecil, muscle and sinew clearly visible as he spoke barely keeping the jaw in place.
"You gave up on her just like you did me! This is what happened to me! This is what you did by leaving me behind and forgetting!" He accused.
"No," Cecil shook his head. "I didn-" The wall was at his back now, there was no where to go. "It's not too late!" But it was, it so clearly was. There was nothing left of him to save.
"The same thing is going to happen to all of them you know." His boyfriend's voice was still clear even as his body began to break apart and fell away into dust. "This will happen to all of them. There is nothing you can do now. You should have warned them. You should have told everyone about the hospital. You knew and yet you still came here!" A tattered and rot riddled hand reached up to grab hold of Cecil's jersey holding it tight. "In the end you'll be alone. You'll see." That hand fell away just as the rest of the apparition dissolved into dust leaving nothing behind.
"W-wait! PLEASE!" Cecil looked around but he was gone, his boyfriend was no longer in sight. It hurt more than he imagined, his chest heaving as he tried to get air. Tears were gathering and he brushed them away with the back of his hand. If only the words he had just heard could so easily be wiped away.
He had to keep going.
OOC: SCENARIO *PLACE NUMBER HERE*
Scenario requirements:Your character turns the corner and is suddenly greeted by an apparition of character of your choice, from either this meta OR from before it in their lives that was important to them. That character begins to talk to them, as if they were that person (just rp it out yourself for that part, as this is what your character THINKS is that character). Your character is CONVINCED that this is this person, and they are alive.
The apparition begins to accuse your character of things. They could be anywhere from "why are you making these choices" to "you did __ wrong". You feel paranoia and regret. If you are rping with multiple characters, for this part, you CANNOT see anything other than the apparition. The more they talk, the more the apparition's face, and body begins to rot, as if rapidly going through the stages of the infection. At the very end, you are left talking to an Infected version of the apparition, before it dissolves away. Their accusations never leave you
When the event is over, add +10 infection to your character's infection meter.
