Kelly finally approached the poker tables, having resisted actually betting for awhile. However, the day was getting old, and she had a feeling she wouldn't be able to get the coins any other way. She had to play the game to get out of the casino.
There were a few tables open, but she found one with only a single other person. Moving to settle in next to the man, she noted he did not have a jersey, and therefore was from a different faction. The question was, which one?
Nibbling her lip for a second, she finally acted to introduce herself.
"I'm Kelly..." she simply stated, eyeing the dealer a moment before turning back toward Shaun, and noticing he didn't have a collar on.

“Hi!” he said cheerfully, noticing her jersey. What was that all about, the jerseys? He could see others wearing them, and that meant that it was probably a faction thing, like the Mall and the costumes or the prison and their shackles. He noticed she had a collar, and a pang of guilt shivered through him – he was free and she wasn't... well, he could change that, couldn't he? Maybe? A little? “Well, it's nice to meet you, Kelly! I'm Shaun! What's your faction?” he asked, looking down at the Jersey, “I'm from Apple Prison.” he tapped his shackle. He looked at the dealer, but apparently they couldn't play yet – at least one more had to join. “How are you doing?” he asked, just to pass the time a little.

Raising a brow slowly at this enthusiasm, Kelly flashed a smile before she watched his eyes dart toward her neck. Swallowing, she rubbed her neck slowly and looked back down at the table, wondering when more people might join their party.
"Oh, nice to meet you too...I'm University." She said with a nod, before listening to his comment. As she looked at the shackle, she tried to not immediately judge him based on his location, but it was quite hard. So she kept her lips tightly sealed shut.
"I'm close, I figured maybe a few rounds of poker might get me over the limit and buy my freedom..." She nodded to him again, "Easy time getting out?"

With her freedom won, Juliette contemplated playing a few more games to help those that would need it. How dreadful it would be for anyone to be stuck here - especially what she was hearing on the radio about this place.
What she could manage on such a short supply of coins left, she wondered. There was at least one game she hadn't tried, though, as she rounded upon the collection of poker tables. A few of them were full, a few of them emptied out. But there seemed to be one with only two occupants, awaiting a third. "Oh, hello dears, room for one more?"
She noticed the collar still around the young girl's neck and frowned. The girl might not be one of her own but that device needed to come off all the same.

Kelly nodded as the girl walked up, gesturing for her to join them at the table. As she looked back toward the conversation, "Well, if you ever need to find us, we are a bit hard to miss..." She tried to joke, and lifted the sleeve of her jersey. Then she turned back to the older lady and took a breath.
"The name's Kelly, but the way...and that is Shaun."
There was no time to talk as the cards were dealt out, and Kelly looked over her numbers. A pair? Maybe she could make something out of it.

With the welcoming gestures, Juliette took her own seat at the table finally and raised two fingers for the dealer to give her her hand. Idly she went to arranging her cards as the two conversed.
"My name is Juliette, it is lovely to meet you two." She greeted, her warm smile returning once again. "So, you're form the university?" The jersey made it a little obvious, as she had seen it before now thanks to a small little meet and greet, "I met a young lovely boy named Rook and Fluffles' brother from there. Are they alright?" It was hard enough to keep tabs on her own, least those she met from other factions.
"Where are you from?" They probably had already done this, but she hadn't.

Kelly nodded at the question, seeing no use to fight it considering she was branded. When asked about the two in her group, she rubbed her face and thought for a second, "Most of us seem to have gotten rid of the collars, but I'm not sure how the others are doing. It's possible they are both free..."
When Shaun spoke about his powers, Kelly let out a laugh, maybe from nerves. Well, his charges weren't terrible.
"I study Communication...well...studied."
She carefully traded in her 4...for a 5. Still no second pair, but she had one more exchange. Kelly wondered what the others had drawn.

Juliette was very well aware of how one played poker and clearly she had a pretty decent hand. A life was on the life here and with not knowing what Kelly had herself, the older woman decided to play it say and discarded it. Hopefully it would help and she wordlessly passed the two tens back to the dealer.
Her new cards made things a little better.
Hearing of Shaun's base location was a little... surprising. Mostly just the reputation really, a prison actually seemed like amazing fortification against what they had been previous dealing with. "Well, imagine that," she chuckled, "though your skills would probably prove useful here, I must say. If the rumors about the restaurant are true, I think they could use a good man like you to get a few people inside." Oh she hoped it wasn't, it seemed like there was trouble there.
"And don't give up hope, dear. Who knows, the educational system might go right on track once this all blows over."

As for the restaurant... “I feel like... maybe they'll want to get out, not in... not that that isn't also one of my talents, but...” He waved to the dealer that he was not going to draw this round, “But... yes. So what are the Apartments like? Is it nice there?”

Kelly listened as she focused on the cards, dropping her 9 and pulling a ten. She was going into the final hand with a pair of twos, and all she could do was hope that the others didn't have anything.
Considering Shaun didn't even bother to grab a second card, she had a feeling that he must have had something with the confidence he was showing.

Feeling satisfied with her cards, Juliette also waved the dealer off and that she was settling with what she was with. There were no winning combinations, but that was what she wanted anyways.
"I do hope its resolved." How though, was the question. Every so often she would hear blips of a conversation and none of it ever sounded good. It was tempting to turn the thing off but then she would probably fret about it even more. News would come.
"Oh, goodness, Clearview is just lovely." A nice change of subject while she placed her cards out for all of them to see. "And the people couldn't be nicer, so helpful and a rather positive bunch," well, most of them. She could think of a few that were gruff... like Baron von Hisslepuss. "I just wish we had cleaner water."
She then frowned, almost about that statement but it was more of something else crossing her mind. Because suddenly she got worried about her cat. "I do hope Duchess Dirtypaws is alright."
