He'd been seeing her everywhere, embarrassingly enough. The first 'Diana' had been that girl from the back room, the one he had managed to spare, but she'd been right there out of the corner of his eye at least six times after that, in every flash of purple or girl in glasses he'd seen since. When he finally found her in the flesh, Max was simultaneously relieved and annoyed. Clingy, much? Obviously she could take care of herself.

His irritation didn't stop him from jogging over and squeezing her (uninjured) shoulder once he had established it really was her and not some trick of the light. Though if he could see again, maybe she was healed as well? No one around here seemed hurt, and from what he understood the Harbingers had barely left anyone without an injury in that first encounter.

"Hey," he said, brows furrowing at her number when he saw it was higher than his. "This is... something, right?"

"Max!" she exclaimed hugging him for a moment before realizing what she was doing and pulling away. "Sorry. I'm just....well I can't really say I'm happy to see you because it means your stuck here with a price to." She motioned towards his own collar and was relieved that it was less than hers was at least. She'd buy him right now if she could, but she didn't even have enough coins to buy herself yet. Then again, she'd probably buy him first even if she had the coin to purchase her own life.

"I am happy that you're okay though, and since you spotted me I'm going to guess and say that your sight is back. This probably isn't the best place to gain it back though, huh? With all the bright lights and all." She was glad she could stop worrying at least a little bit now that she'd found him. She assumed he would've wandered in either by choice or because he was forced, and she really hoped he didn't have to go through what she had.

He gave her a squeeze back, brushing off her sorry with a soundless laugh. "That's true, I guess. But we're going to get out of here. The Boss is looking out for us. If there's any way to spring our whole faction, he will. And we're definitely getting out. Even if I do hate to gamble."

Max squinted up at the ceiling, blinking at the intermittent neon strobes. "But no. This place hasn't been good for my eyes at all. Being blind was relaxing sometimes, when I wasn't running from undying. This isn't relaxing." He shook his head and smirked. "So, what have you been doing since you were collared? I... they had a room full of people and I guess I managed to save one, but..." He wasn't willing to admit that the one who had been dragged away had died because of him. That was all on these casino assholes.

"I uh...." she lowered her head, hating that she hadn't been able to save the boy she'd been trying to. It was one of the reasons she was working so hard now. She couldn't let that happen to anyone again. It just wasn't allowed. Seeing it had traumatized her and she wanted everyone to get out even more. "I'm getting a good amount of coins. Your total is lower than mine so I can buy you. That way you'll be safe and able to leave," she smiled, grabbing his hands. She was sure he had someone to go out and find unlike her. She didn't have anyone waiting on her.

"Besides, you've got to make it out so you can find those important to you!"

It was a bit of a shock to hear her refer to his kids and ex, even if she had no idea that's who she was speaking of. It wasn't a shock because he was worried about them or longed to see them again, but because he hadn't thought of them at all in nearly two days. The happy life he'd once led, the life that had already slowly turned miserable and ended, seemed so far removed from what was going on at the moment that it didn't even enter the equation. He wanted to get out for himself, to continue the life he'd had for the past month. The one that actually meant something.

"What about the people who are important to you? And if there aren't any of those, then think of the ones at the prison who would want you to be there after all of this." He closed his hands around her fingers. "It'll be fine. Just hold onto your coins until I get my own if it'll make you feel better about things."

"Well I don't really think anyone cares too much about me," she chuckled, nodding at him as he suggested she keep her coins until he got his. She could do that. If he got his then they'd both get out, and if he didn't manage to get them then she could use hers in order to help him out. Either way he'd be safe and she'd be happy with it. They'd survive this ordeal together. One way or another.

"When we both get out of this we'll have to go out to coffee or something. Do you like coffee? You seem like the sort to like coffee," she grinned, nudging him with her elbow. She hated the situation they were in at the moment, but as a whole this last month had been good for her. She really hadn't thought about her time that much before everything else had happened, but thinking about it now she really didn't have anything important. She had no one she was searching for and nothing to return to. The only thing she was invested in now was taking care of her prison family.

Max wasn't much of a talker, especially when he knew there were others around who liked to hear themselves speak, but he could usually always find something to say when he had to. This time though... all the ways in which he thought to reassure her were either too trite or too personal. He barely knew the woman. He had no right to say more than he had, so he reluctantly let it go and moved on.

"You're right. I do like coffee," he said, his smile sad for only a second before he pushed that feeling away too. "And I'd be happy to grab some with you. We can even go to one of those fancy places that charges nine dollars a cup." It would be worth it if they made it out of here, not just the casino, but the whole mess outside as well.

"There are places like that? They must be fore really rich people. Not normal people like us." Though were they really normal at this point? They'd survived day zero, fought tons of undying, ended up in a casino and were gambling for their lives. It really didn't seem like they were that normal anymore. Normal people wouldn't have done all the s**t they did. "I've never really had anything besides really cheap coffee, so fancy coffee will be great. We can get cleaned up for it and everything. If there is ever a chance to." Chances were slim that they were going to make it out of this, but she was trying to stay hopeful about it. Thinking about fancy coffee and hanging out with Max after all of this helped.

Well over my 450, but Idk if I'd count it as 20 coins or 10 since it's been going on today too. <.<

"There are. Usually French. Or at least that's what I've heard." He was chuckling now, latching onto their silly, unbelievable future because it was preferable to giving in and playing this game. But they had to play if they wanted to win, and it would only hurt them if they stalled any longer.

"We will get there. But first we've got to get rid of these things. I'm gonna try the slots, but I'll find you when I've made some progress, okay?"
