The best thing was that Dazs' ribs no longer ached like the very rat/hell-hounds in Satan's employ were gnawing on them. When he entered the casino, he as momentarily blinded by the utter normality of it all.

"Giuseppe, come on, they giving out free drinks!"

A smart-looking man in a neatly pressed suit approached Dazs and suddenly he felt very small and very grimy. When he handed over the coins, Dazs bolted, forgetting about the drink in the other man's hand.

Soon, he found himself among the slot machines. The loud whirr and ching of each pull was mesmerizing, in a way. He pulled the lever.

Dazs really, really didn't feel well. Was it the light? The smoke, the constant chatter, the stark contrast to the outside world? He obediently pulled the lever. As soon as he stuffed his winnings into one grimy pocket, the lights went out.

It was not the lights that went out, but Haagendazs.

When he awake, he woke to ropes and chairs and nothing that made sense anymore. There was a boy, and a girl and he asked no questions, merely blinked heavily, trying to comprehend. Patron? Buying?

Dazs swayed woozily, bright lights flashing behind his eyes as someone spoke. They touched him, took his bag. He heard someone exclaim over how much stuff he had. Normally, he'd say something, find his sarcastic bent. But he just want to sleep for a really, really long time.

The collar clicked around his neck and he snapped awake fully, shivering.
