When she woke up and blinked, it took Autumn a moment to figure out just why it was so odd. Light. She could see light. She could see. "Ah! Haha! I can see!" She didn't even bother to get off of her small bed, she just lay there grinning and laughing, and all by crying with happiness. When she finally did get up to move, she was practically bouncing about her cell. Yes! She could see! The world was right again.
Or well. As right as it could be.
Autumn's good mood was something not even the sounds of the undying could diminish. She could see. Sight. She had it again. The day was amazing.
Which was possibly part of why when she heard about this new place, with all of it's lights and sounds, she didn't think too much of it. When the words scavenge and supplies came to her ears she was more than willing to go and see what could be seen. Anything to help.
Since she could help now, to her full extent. No longer handicapped by her injury (though she had to admit her head did still ache a little) she could do so much. She could go and search and scavenge and help make their group stronger.
She was happy to go. She wanted nothing more in the world to be useful.
So, Autumn Flint didn't even think twice about running off towards the fancy lights of the casino.

Autumn had never seen anything like it before. It was like walking into a dream. Maybe that's what had happened. Maybe she was still blind, and simply dreaming. That could explain it, couldn't it?
It had to be a dream. The people, the lights, the sounds, it was almost overwhelming. Like nothing bad was even happening outside. Autumn smiled, a strange, dreamy smile for a strange, dreamy world.
"Oh!" She said when the person gave her the coins. "Why, thank you!" Yes. This must clearly be some sort of dream.
She was sure it wasn't, of course. At least not any more than zombies were. But it still felt a bit otherworldly. Heck, they'd even given her FREE coins to play with.
Well. If they wanted her to play.... Grinning, Autumn sat down at one of the blackjack tables. Why not, right? She had nothing to lose.
She grinned a little more as the dealer dealt the cards. "I used to love this game," she said. She checked her cards. Hm. Too low. "Hit me." The dealer obliged, as they were the dealer and that was what dealer's did.
"Bust!" Autumn had to laugh. Of course. It was always a bust.
Autumn looked at the table, then around. "I...think I'll take a look and see what else there is!" She slid off the stool and into the mayhem again.
So much to see. So bright, so colorful. Autumn was so grateful she could see it all. It was magical.

She tried to take it all in. She wanted to soak it all up. So lovely, so dream like. She actually laughed the first time she got a little dizzy. "Too happy, I guess."
But by the third time she had to wonder. What a weird dream it was... and what a weird place. But wait... it wasn't a dream...
Panic was the first thing Autumn felt when she woke up. It was dark enough that for a moment she thought it had been a dream and her sight was still lost. No. No. There was light, and pain. Just what... Confusion and terror flooded her.
What? WHAT? None of this made sense. Nothing in her life made sense any more. They had to be joking. This was all a sick, horrible joke. (Or a nightmare.)
Autumn wanted to ask a question.
She immediately wondered if that was a good idea, since they dragged her off and away.
And she found herself in a room with two others and a choice. An impossible choice. The ability to buy one of them? Be a patron for just one? This seriously had to be some sort of sick dream. What would happen to the one she didn't buy? What would happen to them all if she failed? What the hell was going on? Autumn would much rather be hunting zombies.
She looked from one to the other for what seemed an impossible length of time. A decision. She had to make a choice. In the end, it was a selfish choice. Autumn chose the young lady. The young lady was like her. It could be her. Autumn could see herself sitting in that chair, wishing someone would save her.
(In some part of her mind she hoped and prayed this wasn't real.)
Autumn had to cringe when they began to drag the boy out. Was it too late? Could she save him too? Did she regret her decision? Maybe? Would she have regretted it either way? Yes. She knew that even as she watched the young lady sob. And then she saw the blood on the boy. Autumn understood, but she didn't want to.
(It's a nightmare.)
Her eyes followed him out of the room, and she saw something of what lay beyond.
"What's in there?" Autumn isn't sure if she wants to know, but she does, deep down. She wants to know what this is, she wants to know just what kind of nightmare they are in. She wants to know where she sent that boy.
She sees the terror in the woman's eyes. Those could be her own eyes. What is in there that she is so afraid of? What did she just send that boy to? She did want to know. She persisted. She HAD to know what fate held in store for them, what it held for that poor boy. She had condemned him to something horrible, she knew, she could tell from the way the woman was screaming--
The sound made her jump, the blood made her flinch. As her mind worked out what was happening, Autumn found herself swallowing bile. She shook as she watched, shook as she realized what fate she'd condemned both people to.
The fate she was likely to be condemned to.
(It was a nightmare. It had to be. There was no other explanation.)
As they dragged her away, Autumn realized she was crying.

It was on shaky legs that Autumn walked down that hallway. She felt sick and dizzy and tired and so scared she didn't' know what to do. Her hands wouldn't stop shaking, either.
As she walked through the doors and into the casino, she flinched again. Too bright. Too loud.
She suddenly wished she'd remained blind. It would have been better that way, wouldn't it?
