Vera walked with uncomfortable slowness. She didn't like being this slow, it meant she was more vulnerable to, well...anything. "My kingdom for a working hospital," she muttered unhappily under her breath.
She stopped when she heard shuffling nearby. Was that..? She held her breath, as if breathing would attract whatever it was to her, and looked around as much as she could while moving as little as possible. She remained this way for a good five minutes before finally allowing herself to continue along. Nothing yet. Good...

"For the zombie apocalypse, there sure is a shortage on zombies. Did everyone kill them all already?" She wheezed, managing a slight chuckle for all of a second before the bounce of her chest made her wince and stop all movement. Ugh. How was she going to take out an undying in this state?

Finally she heard a groaning. Theeeere it was. Nearly sighing with relief, she caught herself in time to not do it, Vera looked over her shoulder to see what was up. ...Of course she would get the biggest zombie she could find. Carefully reaching into her bag, Vera found the knife she had stored away in it. That would get rid of it, right? It couldn't die, though maybe if she had a car or a shotgun or something. That'd be fantastic. It came shuffling at her and she held the knife out in front of her, letting it walk right into it. Well, that was easy..until it swiped at her arm. Right. Okay. Well. Vera brought her arm back to slash at the arm that had come her way. She winced, her free hand pressing to her ribs as if doing so would help ease the pain. It still hurt, but somehow it wasn't so bad when she touched it. Whatever. It swiped at her again, slapping her in the face. Rude. Vera HP: 46/50 Weapon: KnifeDamage done: 3 Undying HP: 12/20

That last stab was pathetic, she barely broke the skin. Vera forced herself to stumble back from the undying, wheezing painfully as she struggled not to pant but at the same time just couldn't breathe. It hurt so bad. Vera HP: 42/50 Weapon: KnifeDamage done: 2 Undying HP: 7/20

Finally she reached up with her other hand, pushing down on the knife blade and pulling on the arm at the same time to just rip the whole thing right off. And then it just..vanished. Vera blinked, staring at the arm in her hand and then at the, well, lack of zombie before her. What just happened? Zombies don't just...did they? The movies and television made more sense but they were all fictional. Maybe just..real life zombies..did this...? Still, it was strange. At least she had her arm.
