Why had she agreed to switch to a later shift this one time at work today?

Well, Elysha knew why, but she needed to keep reminding herself as she had been throughout the whole of this day as another part of her braced herself for heading home now.

She took a deep breath. Then, she exhaled said breath. She could do this. She decided on this when she decided to accept doing her colleague a favor. Going home in her new transformation was probably safer than if she was in her normal state, her usual civilian self, right?

After her work, she had been opting to go straight home. With the fact that her discovery that she was a sailor scout was not so many days ago, today would be the the first time she was not already at home at this hour.

What if she had another encounter like she had the day she awakened? She will just cross that road upon coming to it, she thought before she shook her head to clear her mind for now to focus on transforming, powering up to her identity as Sailor Altair, senshi of scalpels. And after another deep breath, she raised her magical pen and did just that before going on to endeavor both rushing home and avoiding being seen.

And so far so good, she reached the park she usually crossed to get to her apartment complex. It was were she was awakened. There typically were not as many people around in the park at this time. Her fists clenched beside her as she told herself she needed not to be afraid. A life full of fear was not her cup of tea. She could face her fears. And at this thought, she went forward, her steps starting to take her as quietly as she could manage across the park that felt both familiar and new all at once.

Ubasti stretched atop the building she’d just climbed, she was still a little sore from today’s lesson but she was hoping a night out of taking it easy would ease the aches and pain. She’d done well today, practicing at home at really helped with her focus and getting all the moves down. She’d be going up in ranks in no time and be able to dish out a good butt kicking soon as well. It was progress, small but still some. She had an exam in two weeks and was hoping to pass with flying colors. All that remained was staying in one piece on her daily rounds.

The dark mirror senshi of aridity felt an aura and turned in its direction. Didn’t feel familiar and didn’t feel like negaverse which meant it was white moon. It certainly would help making things a lot more interesting if she had company and white moon company was better than no company. Ubasti mulled things over for a bit before heading towards the park before the aura left. She spotted the senshi easily enough, wondered briefly if the other had caught her own aura before realising she didn’t care and advanced on the girl.

“Kind of getting cold out at night isn’t it?” She called out to the girl when she was within distance. She stopped a couple of meters away though, you never knew how one would react to a sudden new presence.

She may or may not have succeeded in opting to proceed this evening in a less vulnerable state by taking on her senshi form as opposed to if she had chosen to brave the commute as her civilian self. However, still, if not more so, Altair was feeling like a glaring target. Had she perhaps made herself a possible magnet somehow? Because she was sure feeling like one, but she also really hoped this notion of hers was mistaken. Perhaps she should ask more illuminating questions at a future chance she would have to seek out. And these feelings seemed to be growing. It was new, odd, puzzling to Altair and it was distracting her endeavor to sneak unnoticed while hopefully more adequately equipped to defend herself from danger she hoped, too, that was a fear of hers she was highly over exaggerating rather than accurately fortune telling. On this count, she would rather be wrong than right. Should she get a check up? Is there a clinic for magical transformers? She could sense the blood coursing through her body, pumping with her heartbeats.

What is this feeling?? It's like something is coming closer. She paused in her mission to be a stealthy costumed magical existence traversing through the area to begin looking around.

And then she shivered abruptly while she jumped at the sound of a voice. Her head had whipped at the direction of said voice with her body working to catch up. After staggering a handful of steps, she stilled like a deer caught in headlights and stared in surprise at the figure before her, meters away. "Y-yes," was the only word she could utter with a nod of her head in reply as a slew of thoughts took to swirling madly in her head at seemingly hundreds of thousands of miles per minute.

Good thing Ubasti had decided to keep away, she smiled at the girl and threw her hands up.

“No need to be scared. Just a plain old dark mirror senshi over here.” The girl seemed extra nervous, was she maybe new? Maybe she’d never even met a dark mirror senshi. Perhaps someone she could convert? And if not well… Allies were always a nice thing to have and she’d rather senshi than negaverse agents.

“Are you new? Ever met a dark mirror senshi?” She may as well just ask her out right if she had. “I’m not going to hurt you, promise.”

Ubasti wanted to add that they were almost on the same team but decided to stay quiet for now. Let the girl process all the information and then she’d offer her name, she didn’t want to overwhelm a new senshi. It did make her wonder if new senshi were mentored, if not… Ubasti saw another opportunity to bring the girl over to her side. Again she felt she ws getting ahead of herself and decided to keep these question for later when they were on friendly terms and she wasn’t scaring the poor girl

"Y-yes," Altair was relieved this was not a situation that was suddenly escalating to a hostile encounter, at least so far was the added on part to the thought courtesy of her insecurities. Slowly she was regaining her ability to think and read between the lines by working with context clues and the like, and she should say more that just that one word as well, "Y-yes, I am new." Sailor and senshi meant the same thing, right?

Oof, Altair was really not a fan of her bouts of insecurities but she has yet to figure out a way to get rid of them. "I, I, um, I don't think I've met another senshi." Dark mirror, the two words as adjectives in combination were not ringing any bells for her but then again a lot of what she heard or read such as from the news were like foreign or alien sorts of information to her when it came to such magical matters in relation to times like these that she reckoned she may gather more and more of one way or another. But being that she had somehow accessed an identity of what she had thought a seemingly foreign, alien world, she should probably get searching for more knowledge to gradually familiarize herself on what exactly she had gotten herself into in the first place, regardless of how, as questionable as everything about all this is, even the start of these mysterious happenings was a muddle in her brain.

Altair couldn't help but wonder why she was undergoing this challenge of attempting to wrap her head around these magical things occupying her considerations. Why and how had she gotten involved in all this? She fought the frizzly sort of feeling in her head and reminded herself not to full out panic. Altair adjusted her stance to standing in place, one of her hands fiddling with the red band of her glove around her other wrist. And then she gave a nod in comprehended understanding and as indication that the latest words of the other senshi did reached her. The other senshi, despite Altair not understanding clearly about the allusion to categories, had not attacked her, and thus Altair resolved to hear her out and run if it turned out hostility might at some point be near breaking out between them. But of course, much her thoughts and actions were not set in stone. However, for now Altair was managing not to lose hold of her sanity despite being pretty much a nervous wreck more often than not lately.
