Another part of due diligence as a resident of Clearview, THE MIGHTY MOOSE had learned, was security screening. This was fine, and, quite frankly, right up his alley. He was good at hitting things.
He did however sometimes need a reminder to ask questions first as opposed to later.
"KEYCARD, PLEASE."
The young man who'd entered the lobby stared for a moment before searching his person somewhat frantically. It was odd, the effect a towering moose-headed figure had on someone. After a few minutes, he came up empty handed.
"I-I- well, I, uh," the man stuttered as THE MIGHTY MOOSE began lurching toward him. "I REMEMBER YOUR DOG!" he finally blurted.
The MOOSE paused. This man might have valuable information. When the others weren't looking, he grabbed him by the arm and dragged him closer.

It wasn't a question - it was a statement, cool and steely and all the more intimidating for issuing from someone who thought a speedo and boots were adequate gear during the apocalypse.
"What? Uh, I don't know, he's YOUR dog-" Fortunately, the man was cut off by another, more diligent member of the security team.
"Hey, YOU! Umbrella!"
The man's eyes grew wider, and he frantically struggled to escape his grip.
THE MOOSE smiled coldly under the mask. Then he hoisted the flailing figure over a shoulder and dumped him on the pavement outside.
"SORRY, CITIZEN. NO UMBRELLA, NO ENTRY."

The next person in line was a young lady, school aged and looking mildly terrified.
"KEYCARD, PLEASE." He tried to say it kindly, but she just stared up at him in stark terror, frantically searching her pockets. After a long, awkward silence, she finally produced the requested item.

"OKAY, GREAT," THE MOOSE managed, unsure of how to continue. Usually by now, he got to throw someone, or punch them, or dispose of them in some other violent manner.
"UMBRELLA?" he tried.
She handed him, well. Something. It was hard to see in the mask, but it appeared to be a metal rod with some kind of plastic attached in an umbrella like fashion.

The next part was easier.
"SALUTE, CITIZEN." Startled, she dropped the umbrella - and it clattered to the floor. It wasn't so much an umbrella, he observed, as a crowbar wrapped in a trash bag.
"I AM SORRY MISS, BUT YOU HAVE TO LEAVE," he stated, not unkindly, and ushered her to the door.
"Please, sir, you have to let me stay, it's not SAFE, I'm just a kid -"
THE MIGHTY MOOSE cut her off, grasping her firmly by the elbow and half pulling, half dragging her to their doorstep.
"HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY."

THE MOOSE spent the rest of his shift fairly uneventfully. A few unwise fellows attempted to gain entry without a keycard, begging and pleading and threatening, and he showed them the door.
Firmly. With his fists.
He had to keep the safety of his Fellow Citizens first.
