SwordOfTheDarkOnes

Aiolos looked over at Isonet, then ahead again, his expression seeming as though it was the same as always. He seemed to be the serious sort of person, but that was mostly due to the way that he had grown up, him being serious. As far as the trip with the young man went he was just as serious, not wanting to see Isonet come to harm. He had to look after him, of that he was certain. It was as though Seren herself had led Isonet to his door to protect the boy from.. well, himself. The boy had wandered a good distance on his own, likely under the protect of Seren, and he was delivered to Aiolos. From here it was up to him to make sure that the boy was at least prepared as far as a weapon went for what lay ahead of him. The world was too dangerous for him to be alone and unarmed.

"The two blacksmiths, their brothers, named Maddox and Mason, their good men, they helped me when I was younger, just as I want to help you now." He told Isonet as they walked along, "The town is a bit of a distance from where I live, my house is a way out because... well, it's what I could afford. If you need a break let me know. I also have a water skin in my pack, so I can share water with you as well if you're in need."

He looked around the area for a moment, his green tipped wings giving a little twitch, "There may or may not be some Ysali around, so keep your guard up. Well, even if there weren't dragons around you still need to keep yourself on guard at all times. Dragons aren't the only danger out there."

Isonet kept close to the stoic male's side. His small mind going over all the information. He pulled his hat a little lower on his head wondering if his Mother was sending servants after him. She most likely would. So, the child made sure he was close to his new friend. Best not to be spotted, there's that chance that if a servant spots him...he'll be taken back.

He didn't want that. The child looked to Aiolos' free hand, slowly reaching up he slipped his smaller one to grip it loosely. He wasn't going to admit he was scared, he was just really really worried. The child looked back up to Aiolos. "That sounds like fun, having a brother. Aio. Do you have any siblings?"

He would of liked to know. Maybe Aio had a little brother he could play with to get stronger. He smiled. "Thank you for the offer of water. I'll keep that in mind." He told himself not to take too much...Aio was bigger and needed more.

Turning to glance over at Isonet he gave a slow shake of his head, "There was never a chance for me to have a sibling, sadly enough." He murmured, wondering what that might have been like. It might have been nice, some younger brothers and sisters to play with when he was younger... though if he'd had any siblings, little ones, would he have had to try to raise them in the same manner that he'd raised himself? Would he have been able to do it? He'd of at least tried his hand at it.

Shaking his head he looked ahead again, "Do you have any siblings?" He asked of Isonet, wondering if he would have any brothers or sisters coming to look for him now that he'd run away from home. Should he worry about that? Would they come after him thinking that Aiolos had kidnapped the boy? He sured hoped not, that was the last thing that he wanted to deal with at the moment. Aiolos was certain that he'd end up in trouble if people thought someone like him had kidnapped someone like Isonet. Not as though he was the sort that would look for ransom, but given the state of his affairs it would appear as a possibility to outsiders.

"If you need anything just let me know." He was looking after him so he might as well do so to the best of his ability. He paused, looked around, then shook his head and continued. He was always careful when he traveled but he was certain that he'd be even more so now that he had a charge.

Isonet liked this, being near the older male. He looked around as they walked on. "Ah...no, not that I know of. One of the older servants told me once that my Father, who's an adventurer, may have had several children outside the city. I haven't met him, but I want to find him. All I have is a name. Isonet..."

He smiled brightly. "I was named in honor of him. Mother didn't get a choice in that. Its family tradition if the Father leaves two days after the child is born. I hope to find him. Maybe if I have siblings I'd get to meet them and we can be a proper family..." he lowered his head. "If they want me..."

He was nervous about all the rumors. What if his Father didn't even want him because he was his Mother's son? That was a thought the child didn't want to dwell on.

Aiolos glanced toward Isonet for a moment, giving him a long look, before looking ahead once more, "I see, that must be tough not knowing your father." He murmured, wondering what it must be like not to even know your own father. It seemed as though the only think that he had of his father was the man's name, something that he shared with him. A weak little bond between the two of them, but it wasn't as though Aiolos could say anything. The only thing that he had left of his mother was the feather he wore in his hair after all. He lifted a hand up to stroke the blue feather in his hair before he pushed that thought aside, not wanting to think on it.

"I will keep my ears open, and if I hear about him I will let you know." He said to Isonet. He didn't travel far, between where he lived and town, then around the area for hunts. The only time he travel was when he was given a job that included travel. He supposed that he could keep his ears open when he was going out for work, right?

Giving a little motion with his hand he said, "Alright, I can see the smoke from the blacksmith's place, that is where we are heading. The brothers are quite in the know, if your father passes through the area they might know about him." He couldn't say that they knew everyone, not wanting to talk for them, but given their business they might. They were the sort that were good to ask about all manner of things when he went to visit. He learned about good jobs, where the sales were going on, where dragons had been seen that needed hunted, and a lot of useful things. As such they might be able to help Isonet with more then just the weapon that Aiolos was going to get him.

Isonet looked up at the older male. "I hope they know something..." he noticed the other touch a really pretty thing in his hair. Curious like any child would be he chirped out. "Those are pretty feathers. Did your Mama make them for you?"

He had seen similar things in a few servants hair. Objects their mothers crafted for them. He wondered if one day his hair would be long enough for that. His mother always had him cut it short. He got excited and sorta bounced in place. "Ooooh!!! Aiolos guess what?!? Without Mother around to order it short, I can grow out my hair!!!" He giggled. "I always wanted to know what I'd look like with long hair..."

Aiolos gave the boy a long look before giving a slight nod, "I suppose you can say that. This is a feather that came from my mother's wings." He said, touching the feather again, "I recall she had the most beautiful blue wings, this was one she gave me before..." He trailed off, blinked, and realizing he was letting too much slip he closed his mouth. No reason to share too much when this boy was likely to leave sooner then later. They'd get him information on his father and he'd be on his way. No reason to get too close even there was that part of Aiolos that enjoyed having someone to chat with.

Turning to look at the boy as he seemed to suddenly get excited over something he listened as the boy started to chat about his hair and how he would be able to grow it out. He always wanted to have long hair? An interesting and easily obtained desire, which was a good thing for someone Isonet's age to set his eyes on, "I would suggest that if you do grow it out that you keep it tied back when you go into battle. You don't want anyone taking advantage by grabbing it." It was why he kept his hair short, so that nothing could try to grab hold of him by it. Of course he tended to do everything that seemed the safest to protect himself.

After a quick back and forth Aiolos headed forward, around the blacksmith, to the back door where he gave a knock, "Mason, Maddox, are either of you here?" He called out before he stepped inside, motioning for Isonet to follow.

Within the blacksmith's workshop was a rather massive Orderite man, a big, muscular sort who was in the process of working on a sword blade from the looks of it. The big man turned to look toward the pair that were standing there, lifting the hand holding his blacksmith's hammer to wave at them, "Maddox is inside, working the counter. You can go chat with him for now. I will be in after I am finished here." He told the pair, giving Isonet a long, curious glance, before returning to his work.

The child stuck close to Aiolos, hearing the older males drifting of words. He felt his heart sink a little...something bad must of happened and he brought it up. Aiolos would hear a rather small. "Sorry..." from the child before they entered through the back door.

The small orderite went wide eyed and hid himself partially behind the taller orderite. It wasn't he was afraid of the big male...well partly. It was he was scared to be recognized...he didn't know if this was a blacksmith Ottis and his father used or not. Usually if it was a weapon errand, Ottis would of taken Isonet to a different part of the street. Right now...he was out of his comfort zone. He looked up at Aiolos...

Within the shop, talking with a customer was Maddox, a man that seemed to looked almost exactly like Mason, though had a few extra lines here and there on his face suggesting that he was a bit older. The man turned when he heard approaching footsteps, and upon spotting Aiolos he said, "Feel free to look around, we will be closing up after I am done helping this customer." Words that caused the green haired Aiolos to nod before he motioned to Isonet to follow after him.

Leading the younger boy along to some of the 'beginner' weapons Aiolos said, "We should see about finding something that suits your style and your size. Something that isn't too heavy and won't wear you out after a short time wielding it. You need something that is useful when it comes to defending yourself against... well, everything these days." There were a lot of dangers out there, too many to count, though the main ones were dragons... though in Aiolos's mind the real threat was and always would be the Mara. Such souless, hateful, and dangerous creatures they were. It was a though he shook off though since even thinking about them made him shiver.

"Ah, anything catching your eye?" He asked of Isonet, wanting to get his mind off his own nightmares and onto Isonet and his needs.

Isonet was at the elder male's side. Curious about the blacksmiths but at the same time, content to remain where he was. He looked over the racks...pausing at something that resembled a parasol. He reached out for it finding that the handle popped off and a wooden baton was hidden within. Oh...he looked to Aiolos.

"Look! Its one of those hidden weapons. Think I can learn to use it?" he squeaked excitedly.

Giving the weapon over that Isonet was inspecting, giving a thoughtful sound, before he nodded his head, "That might be a good weapon for you. If the weapon is hidden and looks like something inoxuous then maybe you won't be bothered about it?" The boy had run away after all, wanting to be on his own, and if he ended up back with his mother at least the weapon Aiolos was helping him to get would be masked as something other then a weapon, right? He wanted the boy to be able to protect himself no matter what happened once they parted ways.

Reaching out to take the weapon from Isonet he checked the weight of it, as well as how smoothly the weapon came out of it's sheath, and finally how well hidden the weapon was. After a moment he nodded his head, "This one feels like it would be a good starter weapon for you. It's light enough that it won't tire you out. We will talk with the blacksmiths about it." He didn't want the boy to worry about the cost, feeling that he could help him to pay for it by working the bill off. It wouldn't be the first time that he'd done chores for the brothers to pay something off.

Giving a smile he handed the weapon back and said, "They will be done with work soon, we can chat with them then."

Nodding as the elder spoke Isonet bounced in place. Excited for the prospect of gaining this new interesting weapon. The fact that it was a parasol meant it had dual uses. He could shield himself from the elements to some degree while deciding on how to fell his foe. The idea of future battles had him giddy, oh the tricks he could pull. The youth waited alongside Aiolos.

"I could help you for a while to assist in paying for it." he offered. After all something like this wasn't going to be cheap. He wanted to stay with the older male for a bit longer anyways. Wishing to perhaps learn more.

SwordOfTheDarkOnes

After a short wait Maddox finished up with the last customer of the day, tucking away the plans for a new weapon that he'd be making the man under the counter. He walked the man out, asking him to come back in three days, and locked the door behind him. Once that had been done the muscular man stretch out all over, his massive wings appearing to stretch out and flap as well. Turning to look toward the boys, wings vanishing once more, he said, "Alright, now that the shop is close, how about we talk about your new friend and the weapon that he seems to be interested in."

Walking over to stand in front of the pair, looking the weapon over, "The parasol sword, hm? It's a good weapon for those who prefer to keep their business hidden. Not all warriors want to advertise who and what they are after all." Especially when it came to certain people in certain castes. It made him wonder who the boy was, especially since something about him seemed familiar to him. Why was that? He knew that the kid had never stepped into the place, meaning that he might have met his parents?

Aiolos gave Isonet a smile, then looked back to Maddox, "It will suit him well. If we can discuss the payments?" He asked. Maddox knew Aiolos's situation and always seemed to help him out when it came to this sort of thing.

The big man looked at Aiolos, to Isonet, then back again. Lifting a big hand he patted Aiolos on the head, "No. At least I cannot in all good conscious allow you to take on a work load to get a sword for a boy who is obviously of a higher class then you, Aiolos. Now, if he helps you, does work, gets his hands dirty, then I might allow it." He looked to Isonet and said, "I have nothing against you kid, Aiolos wouldn't have brought you were if you were a spoiled sort. As such I merely want to make sure that you don't take advantage of his good nature."

"I will allow him to borrow the sword for a day, he can try it out, and I will see about making the two of you a work list. I am sure my brother and I can find you some work easy enough."

Isonet was only a tad intimidated by the older male, perhaps a bit put out that the male didn't really trust him. Though that was quickly squashed by reminding himself he was only a child and that was a going to be a thing from now on...all these emotions were displayed clearly as the child had yet to get that poker face. Nodding quietly he didn't say anything..standing there feeling really small.
