Gender: Androgynous

Starting Stage: Freshling

Body Type Base: A

Description:

Quote:
Description:
  • Body: Red. As in, the primary color. Literally. (please see colored ref pic) If a gradation at seal points is required (the guide said almost always, though I wasn't sure if the only other exception was different markings as opposed to none) the gradation would be from red to black at the tips.
  • Eyes: Style 5, please. Their sclera are white, but their pupils and irises are black and shining as tar pitch. (please see colored ref pic)
  • Hair: Straw-blonde; thick and wild. They tie it back in a ponytail to keep it from covering their face. It reaches to their lower back when in a ponytail. (please see colored ref pic)
  • Clothes: - Fashion: Casual, comfortable, gender-neutral clothing; usually clothing to be worn in hot weather like shorts and short-sleeved or sleeveless tops.

    - Clothing: Can be as simple as the clothes they have on in their colored reference picture or anything else. This can be left up to the artist, though the same or similar color scheme of the clothing in the ref (black, white, red, yellow, light denim blue, etc.) would be very much appreciated.

    - Accessories: Freedom for the artist here. Feel free to go with the reference picture's (like the wrist bands) and/or make up your own.
  • Horns: Black and longer as they get older (please see colored ref pic for style reference)

Note: Hirzael is based on a character of mine from another shop, Hirzael the Demon (Imp). The shop owner, Chi Sohma, and the original artist, GeekPower, have both granted me permission (under two spoiler tags below) to use Hirzael's design here at Nightmare Academy.

Hi, Chi! I don't know if you remember me, but I owned a pet at the Horror High shop that you owned a while back. I had a couple questions regarding that.

1. Out of curiosity, do you know if you had any plans to continue that shop in the future?

2. I've also made sure to ask Geekpower, the original artist of the student/pet I had at Horror High, but I wanted to be sure it was okay with you too - would you mind if I adapted that character in both design and personality to this shop here called Nightmare Academy?

Im going to redo the shop, and get a team up but its not gunna happen right now. It will be later down the road because I just had a baby and im full of art work owed D;
But i will be makin it again.

and yes you can adapt the character to the other shop :] Have fun! thank you for asking permissions !

oh! someone ask me this before, not sure if it was you and I didn't reply xD
anyway I intended to be a girl from the start but since is so ambiguous on that stage it can be a boy too, and yes it has a ponytail but the hair is all wild since its just a kid she don't mind his hair, as the type of creature I was trying to do like a lava demon that can control fire later, I actually sketched a few more steps to that character.

hope it helps. biggrin
Yeah, sorry, that was me. ^_^; I have a bunch of different accounts and this account's inbox is usually full, so I try to use others' instead. Sorry about the confusion.

Ooh, nice stages! Yes, they help a lot; thank you very much! So did you intend for all the stages except the second one to have ponytails? The lava demon concept sounds awesome.

Sorry, there was one other thing I wanted to ask you that occurred to me. In this shop here called Nightmare Academy, I was thinking of questing for an androgynous demon based on this same character. However, since the design is yours, I wanted to make sure it was okay with you to use them and transfer them from the Horror High shop (though I intend to keep them the same as much as possible in both personality and design). If you'd rather I didn't though, I completely understand. Just let me know!

sorry for the late reply just checked gaia again, and since they were just concept and never got finished I didn't really planned the ponytails so you can play around with that if you like, as for the permission sure thing just lemme see the outcome of that sounds interesting what other artist make out of my idea. biggrin
Thank you very much, will do! ^_^

General Description:

Personality:
(+) Outgoing - Hirzael has no trouble at all going up to a random stranger. Nor does he have trouble starting up a conversation with said stranger. What he does have trouble with is being able to tell whether or not said stranger wanted to talk to him in the first place. Nor does he seem to understand the meaning of 'personal space' or 'desired alone-time'.

(+) Playful - This little imp will happily make a game out of anything. He tends to do this excessively; so much to the point that he can be considered 'childish' and/or 'immature' by most of his high school peers. Hirzael delights in playing pranks and jokes. An example of one of his favorites is walking behind people on their way to their next class, unzipping their backpacks, snatching something from them, and zipping them back up in order to see how long it takes them to realize whatever it is he took is missing. If they don't realize they're missing something for over a month, he'll give it back (with some disappointment). However, this particular prank tends to give him a reputation so that he becomes the first person his schoolmates ask when they've lost something of theirs. What amuses him the most is when he can cause someone to check their backpack for missing items simply by stand behind them and snickering mischievously.

(+) Active - He has to be. How else would he be able to run away fast enough from those whose nerves he gets on? Well, there's always the shrinking factor, but that doesn't allow him to be fat and lazy. It just brings him closer to the analogy of 'cat and mouse'. Then there's the fact that he sweats a lot and wears sporty clothes, but that may be due to his internal body heat temperature as much as his activity. Whatever the case, Hirzael has quite a bit of energy to spare. Unfortunately, this gives him the tendency to act first, think later. He plans to try out for every sport he can (to see what friends he can make if nothing else), though in the past he's almost always been turned down except for track (where being small and agile counts for something). Hirzael also tends to play a lot of 'involuntary hide-and-seek' with students less tolerant of him and has gained the valuable skill of learning how to climb his way out of dumpsters after being thrown head-first into them.

(-) Spiteful - If someone wrongs Hirzael, be careful. He's just as childish in dealing with conflict as he is in dealing with games. He dislikes losing, being insulted, and being mocked. He also can't stand ingratitude or arrogance and has ways of humbling people. Sometimes, though, he goes overboard and will punish people with his pranks beyond what they reasonably deserve. Revenge is not something he will hesitate to stoop low for.

(-) Annoying - Hirzael has a hard time knowing when enough is enough - not for anything. You know those lines you don't cross? He can't see them; any of them. Not physical boundaries, not emotional, not personal, none. He will talk and talk and talk if a subject is brought up that he's interested in. If kids are showing off their basketball moves, he'll step in and try to show off his own (even if he doesn't have any, in which case he's fine making a fool of himself) just to get attention. This imp will go to great lengths to get people to like him, but often he ends up trying too hard and can be just plain annoying. It's really difficult to send him the message without blatantly telling him outright, though, so unless you're a good enough friend to be perfectly honest with him or you simply have no qualms about hurting his feelings, he will continue to be obnoxious. Politeness over honesty does not pay off with this guy. And when he does intend to be annoying? Well, let's just say he's exceptionally good at it.

(-) Mischievous - Trickster, prankster, mischief-maker, trouble-starter - call it what you want, but imps are pretty well-known for being up to no good, and this one is no exception. A lot of Hirzael's deeds are naughty and he loves to tease and taunt others. It's actually his way of making friends and getting them to notice him, but he doesn't seem to realize that feelings can be hurt in the process and that some people can take certain things very seriously. The fact that some monsters have no sense of humor is lost on him and will in no way deter his antics. The bigger their reaction, the better, in his opinion.

Favorite things: They like ketchup (and eat everything with it), clothes that don't constrict or constrain them but are insulated (and they wouldn't mind trying on a skirt or dress), enjoys paint and the messiness of it, particularly face paint and finger paint (especially with its consistency like ketchup), likes punk and rock music.

Background So Far: Eris grew up as one of the numerous Orphans from the Cache, born and raised in the Asphodel Gardens. Not realizing that she or the other Orphans were different from any other Nightmare, the Geist was happy. Eventually she found out that most Nightmares outside of the Academy had families and parents, but having never known her own, she found it hard to long for or miss them. All that mattered to her was that she wasn't alone.

From an early age, the Nightmare found pleasure in watching others. She loved the way their faces changed and was content to simply observe them, though when invited to join in a game or other activity, she readily accepted. Eris grew fascinated with different emotions and how each Nightmare physically expressed them, whether through a smile, a frown, or narrowed eyes. Though quick to make friends, Eris also became quick to lose them when she purposely did things to see their faces change. She couldn't understand why friends stopped wanting to be friends and was so hurt by each broken friendship that eventually she stopped interacting with others altogether.

After some help and a very special gift from a Geist mentor (please see 'Influential Past Event' below), Eris overcame her fear of losing friends and managed to make new ones again. This time she learned how to interact with them better and was more careful not to unnecessarily upset them. If she did happen to upset others, she quickly picked up how to properly apologize and make it up to them to be sure they knew she meant no malice or harm.

At this point, the Geist also taught herself not to get too close to any one individual or group of Nightmares because one never knew when they would turn on them or leave them. She didn't want to be dependent on anyone else, but she didn't want to be left all by herself either, so she learned to make the acquaintance of and be friendly with many different Nightmares as opposed to a few.

Influential Past Event: During the time that Eris decided to stop interacting with others and chose to simply watch them instead, a couple of older Nightmares complained about her to a Geist adult in charge. Evidently, she had been spying on them while the pair had been having an intimate discussion and they were angry by the invasion of their privacy. As Eris hadn't known what was wrong with watching them, she hadn't made much effort to conceal herself.

The Geist adult took Eris aside and asked her why she liked watching people. He explained to her that most Nightmares found it unnerving to be stared at, especially for long periods of time. Eris informed him that she had only been trying to memorize the peculiar expression on the couple - it seemed they had been blushing - because she had never seen such faces on anyone before.

Her mentor laughed and told her that people didn't normally make those faces in public because they were embarrassing (a concept that Eris, at the time, didn't understand and wanted to know more about). He also knew that the younger Geist was having trouble making friends when once she had gotten along so well with other Nightmares and realized that her habit of voyeurism must have put them off. In exchange for ceasing her habit of staring at others, the adult Geist promised to help her solve her problems.

The next day, Eris was presented with a crystal technology camera that she was told was very expensive and that she should take very good care of. Her mentor showed her how to use it and said that with it, she no longer had to memorize faces or stare at other Nightmares for long periods of time. Instead, she could just take a quick picture and she would have their image to keep forever.

The Geist girl was so pleased with her new gift that, despite her young age, it took her almost no time at all to figure out the new technology. She was very, very careful with it and cherished it as her most treasured possession - not because it was expensive, but because of what it did for her. Thanks to her new camera and the help of her Geist mentor, she was able to overcome her fear of losing friends.

She managed to make new ones in no time and was careful not to stare at them for too long in the case she started to make them uncomfortable. Moreover, Eris learned not to invest too much in friends and chose to make a lot of superficial friendships rather than only a few close ones. That way, even if others turned on her or grew apart, she could move on without being lonely.
