None the less, he bares the burden of a noble soul.
History:
Like most of the student's of DMWA, Daniel became inspired behind the tall tales of DMWA's legends.
From Maka's determination, to Black Star's might. All in all, the spartoi generation was filled with figures of many inspiring roles.
And as such, after the end of the first week of his first year. He decided, that he would become one of them.
Thing's were not easy. As, despite the talent one may show in school, going on a field mission is way different.
There are just, certain things that can't be taught but from experience.
Facing his first witch left a deep scar on his life.
Having his partner pay he price of his mistake, he sworn not to wield a weapon anymore.
But time, changed things. It always did, and would always do. Of course, this brief, episode of fear passed away. After all, he had friends to support her, teachers.
All of DMWA was but a big family. But he was still scared to wield a weapon. It was too much of a responsibility, and he feared he may fail again.
Such thing continued for a few semesters during the first year.
It was then when he was diagnosed by Stein as a stained soul
Apparently the witch had cursed him with madness, which manifested in his life as the ominous Fear he held towards failure, to harm others through his mistakes.
Daniel fought the madness condition within him at that time. Eventually using it to become stronger as a person. With a will strong enough to disperse it. Not eradicating it completely as his soul was deeply scarred. But he somehow held enough courage to live with it.
As such, he became an exemplary figure to break through fears, eventually becoming a rather popular sempai the next year. In which he met, his silent reaper.
Along the new students, there was a particular case that reached for his ears.
Apparently, there was a student that didn't held well with the others. All the opposite. She kept everyone away from her.
That wouldn't be good. And as a respectable sempai, it was his duty to see for his fellow under classmate and help her break through her ice barrier that isolated everyone from herself.
But that didn't work.
Week after week, the 2nd year there was nothing she could do to help her improve herself.
No matter how much he approached, how gentle, good intentioned he was, he was plainly rejected on the spot.
Even after a direct confrontation, explaining why she needed help, she neglected it, and showed she was actually annoyed to have him insist on such bothersome topic.
Not only that, but the cold eyes she held at him could froze all the high spirits he managed to build up to that day.
He failed, and not only that, but he made her an ice queen. Unreachable by anyone.
Hurt in both his pride and his aspirations. He couldn't believe he made everything worse, not only for her but for her classmates help.
The demons inside him were woken up, form the deep slumber he put them in.
Failure, such a horrid word that was. And so, he fell once again under the witch's curse.
After that fateful day, he would fail at everything he did, he couldn't just stand it. That single moment with the ice queen made him lose his cool and his confidence.
Why? Why was she so distant?
Why did it hurt that much?
How could it be that he managed to make her hate him that much? Enough to torment him even on his dreams.
The twilight of the second year was nearby, and Daniel was such a mess.
But he had to talk to her, one last time. At the very least apologize to her.
What he got, was something he did not expect.
"thanks for the concern...but i dont have any problems"
While the phrase, or the length of the conversation so far was limited to a single response from her, it was the way she had spoken that caught Daniel off guard.
It was neutral.
Sure, she didn't show any remorse or showed any signs of becoming a little more friendly. But there sure wasn't hate. The cold gaze she casted on him to curse his self confidence was gone. It was all, like an open sea.
This, inspired Daniel, it showed him that it wasn't the end of the world. Sure he made a mistake trying to help her out. But as of now, she showed him that she didn't hate him at least. Which was comforting. A light of hope within his inner turmoil.
With that, the sempai was back, but it was different, he understood it. There was no way he could help her. One must find their own path, all he could do was trust her.
With that, he kept on his mission to show up every now and then, say hi, ask about her day. Anything, just so that she could have at least a short interaction with someone.
That would be his way to support his under classmate.
The dawn of the third year was there, and with that the birth of a rather unique friendship.
Words weren't always necessary, neither long term conversations. Being near one another was just enough. To show a mutual support.
It was strange, so far he was unable to help her have other friends. But at least she was comfortable with his presence most of the time.
While he was still a little insecure. He reminded himself he had still a path of his own to walk through. And kept finding strength in his moments of doubt.
During the 4th year, he would be promoted. A Squad leader at it. His silent muse had pushed him this far. He couldn't just bare with another failure, not in front of her.
And by the time he would be taking on his new duty, they met once more.
"I'll be going for a while. There's something I must face by myself. And until I do, I would not be able to see you eye to eye.
Please, wait for me."
And without her permission, he stole her silhouette and embraced it in his arms. This was, after all, a farewell, at least for now.
"Do your best. I hope to see you soon, and with a lot of friends. You hold such a promising future. Make sure you live with no regrets...Lily san."
With that, Daniel left.
Training to conquer his inner demons. He disappeared from the school. Sure, he showed up to make quick reports on his missions. But as a promising student he was busy most of the time. And eventually was lost from sight to the other students, other than his colleagues.
It had been 3 years since then. Now a veteran on the field, he returns to Death city. Wondering just how much had he missed during all this years.

Cleansing Wave
- By focusing his wavelength on a specific point of his body. He encloses the wavelength until he obtains an orb of his own concentrated soul.
This orb is detonated. Allowing him to amplify the reach of his soul.
The skill gains his name because of Daniel's calm nature.
Generating a strong, but calm field around him which disperses madness.
As long as he has enough stamina to keep up, he can keep pushing he madness away.
Tidal Surge
- By concentrating his soul, it molds it's shape, creating a continuous flow which runs around Bryan and/or an ally.
This not only helps rising the mood of the target but also increases it's speed.
Upon activation, the user becomes swifter and has a chance to perform a U-turn like move against a target.
After colliding, the flowing soul would detonate releasing a cleansing wave, and pushing the user a few steps away or a considerate distance, depending on how much pressure it is used on the cleansing wave.
Ocean's Roar
- The soul is detonated with a wide blast radius, the power depends of the situation.
This move gets stronger with water nearby. As it actually resonates with this technique.
Lighthouse's Guidance
- A rather particular case of Super soul perception.
It's strong enough for Daniel to perceive when people are lying to him if he's close enough (3 meter radius). But also gains a wide perception in a cone, whenever his eyes are focused on.
Sadly, this leave wide blind spots outside his line of vision. However, those areas are covered by common soul perception.
