Requirement: One person in the party must have a herbivore egg. Quote: - It seems as if the villagers now want you to collect some more eggs. Those eggs are really delicious you know, and surprisingly enough, get you into the good graces of the villagers quite fast. - Your character is dropped off at the base of an even taller mountain The goal is to climb the mountain and get the egg. RP climbing it appropriately - As you near the egg, whatever is following you will try to eat it. Roll 1d6 to see what it is. 1. A sand crab minipet 2. A 100 foot giant snake 3. A baby wyvern 4. A zombie deer minipet 5. A sand whale (estimated 400 feet) 6. A rolling sand lobster minipet If by any chance a sand whale is the culprit, it automatically eats the egg and you have to try again. Otherwise, rp gathering the egg. - Now you must carry the egg down the cliffside of the mountain. Roll 1d6 again and see what is trying to push you off the cliff aggressively. 1. A sand crab minipet 2. A 100 foot giant snake 3. A baby wyvern 4. A zombie deer minipet 5. A sand whale (estimated 400 feet) 6. A rolling sand lobster minipet If the result is a sand lobster, you drop the egg, and have to try again. - You finally pass the cliffs into the forest region of the mountain. Roll 1d5 to see what tries to block your way. 1. A sand crab minipet 2. A 100 foot giant snake 3. A baby wyvern 4. A zombie deer minipet 5. A sand whale (estimated 400 feet) 6. A rolling sand lobster minipet If the result is a 100 foot giant snake, it squishes you and you have to try again. Finally, you make you way past all of that and you get to the base camp. Oh wait, something is waiting for you at base camp! Roll 1d6 again: 1. A sand crab minipet 2. A 100 foot giant snake 3. A baby wyvern 4. A zombie deer minipet 5. A sand whale (estimated 400 feet) 6. A rolling sand lobster minipet If a baby wyvern shows up, very mean adult wyverns land, reprimand you, and then extract the egg from you before flying away. You don't get an egg. Otherwise, success! gaia_star If you successfully get an egg to safety, you get wyvern egg. It is considered a quest item. Add it to your quest item list

What had come over her to agree to help another villager with an egg problem, she would never know. Maybe caught in the bliss that was holding AJ's hand. But as soon as they had gotten back into the town they seemingly got approached by a few more creeple with requests.
Before she knew it, the reaper and the monster were dropped off in another remote location. This time a much taller, steeper and worse looking mountain than the previous one. Maple had her usual reaction to such things, the color drained from her face and she just stared at it in horror.

Proof: HERE or HERE===================================== AJ observed the villagers did ease up when they saw the eggs they carried back, as if they earned their approval, a harder task was given. A quest to get the wyvern egg from a steeper mountain, more mountain climbing in other words. On their way to the base, with their hands interlaced, he asked, "Are you afraid, Maple?" Head was wailing for the separation with its eggs, the creature had acquired affection in such a short time that it was unwilling to let go. "The worst is we've to start over, and I'm with you. Nothing is impossible when friends supporting each other." He grinned. The eyes looked at the mountain and shifted, "Wanna ride a dragon, Maple?" He smiled.

So optimistic. How did she acquire such a friend that held the exactly opposite sort of outlook on life than her own? Though, she could probably agree to the sentiment, friendships were indeed powerful and handy. Because having creeple to help was so much better than failing miserably on your own. Maple sighed, defeated. This was going to happen.
Though, wait, "Dr-dragon?" What? Clearly she was curious what he meant by that. He didn't mean him, did he? He wasn't a dragon. She was aware that his natural form was supposed to look something akin to one though.

"Yup, dragon, have you ridden one?" AJ was amused by the partially surprised partially confused expression on Maple's face. "You know I am a dragon species right?" asked the boil. Once detached the skull pin from him, there were a giant two-head dragon quietly stared at the witch. The tomato colored eyes of the head with two pairs of spiral horns shoved its head close and gently snugged against the witch's body. A dragon indeed, but consists of serpent features.

Had she ridden one before? Well, if memory wasn't an issue after coming to the school, she honestly couldn't be sure given how many things ever happened to them. But, at the moment the witch simply shook her head no. It didn't seem like she had ever. "I d-didn't... think..." She didn't finish, her cheeks flushed again and her gaze fell to the ground. It might have been insulting if she had, she would leave it to a mix up.
When Maple looked up again, and really the transformation triggered her to raise her head. Being a surprise, of course she jumped back a little but really the witch was in awe of his natural form. It was so impressive, so large and the horns... Hesitantly, she reached out - reminding herself that it was after all AJ - but he beat her to the punch, one of his heads pressed up against her gaining a small squeal.
"D-do.. I j-just climb on?" It felt like a really odd question. She was going to.. ride a friend....

In natural form, the polar personalities can be viewed really clearly. While the head with the curved horns was calm and poised whereas the head with the straight horns at the back squirming non-stop with curious big eyes. The front limbs of the creature moved a small step and then the neck of the front head lowered down, the eyes shifted to the side to look at Maple. "Haha I seldom use this form. Yup, climb on and hold tight." That was the gentle voice of her friend. One of the front limbs moved backward, allowed her to step on it like stair. The body was smooth and paved with millions of small scales. When she was on his back, he said, "Grab onto my horns, they're less slippery. We're gonna make a short cut to the summit." If it was resting, the creature that pushed itself up gently was now ready to climb. Its body remained arched up in the middle to create a platform that the rider can rely on when it went straight. Like a lizard, it climbed up swiftly, it claws dug into the cracks of the stone surface and pulled itself up. The head at the end portion raised up to reduce friction and will catch Maple if she fell off. "Maple, they cooked the eggs, did you see that?" A younger voice next to her can be heard. "Why they cook the baby dragons? qq" It asked. It was uncommon when the one who talked to her was not the boil, but the tail head. Through back and forth, it'd asked about many questions about her, her family and whatnot. "We're there." The voice raised up from her front. The creature stopped, gently lowered its body and let the witch get off its body before he switched back.

His voice was unmistakable as AJ's even in this new form, it had a little more baritone and presence though befitting of his larger size. But he was still there, as she could hope for.
Still felt really weird climbing on top of him. Because it was him and it was something she had never done before. Not even any of her relatives' familiars. Only a broom, or a bicycle.. or a car. It was awkward, his muscles responded to her feet as she stepped on his limbs to get on his back and she only got more self conscious about the whole thing. Her hands went to his horns, as she had been instructed to do and held on tightly. Urg, so weird.
"Aa!" Her head snapped to the source of the other voice as they went on the move, "H-hopefully.. it wasn't.. f-fertilized?" It was often how creatures reproduced but eaten eggs... well, yeah. She could only hope - but she couldn't even recall the villagers even eating what they had brought back. Maybe they were different eggs? There wasn't an answer she could provide. And thankfully it wasn't something she dwelled upon on their trip up to another set of eggs.
The route had been so much faster, she had to admit (she would have to thank AJ in some way, and not just with a thank you or something. Well, he would get that.. but something else.... if she could manage). "D-doesn't.. s-seem so bad.. up here.." Though, what would they find below on their way back? Like last time?
But as he hands went to retrieve an egg, one for now and then another for AJ, a snake as on the other island appeared. It hissed at the small witch and tried to snap at her. Its tail rattled, ready to strike. Maple panicked but managed to grab an egg. She felt really bad about this, but she decided to hide behind AJ.

[Getting Egg]AJ immediately made a defense pose but had his eyes widened, Head has straightened its neck like a Cobra and hissed loudly at the giant snake. The hisses was not flat, consisting ups and downs that informed the snake they didn't want to fight but if necessary, they won't hold back. It was Parseltongue, the common language existed in snake's family. The snake seemed understand it would have been a tough battle, it hisses some more before it slithered away for something else for its snack. Having the witch waited him at a safe place, the boil moved forward to collect an egg. There was a deer alike creature opening its decayed jaws for the nest, he lunged at it to draw it away before he took the egg. Time to go down. It was fine when he went up in natural form, yet, going down from the cliffside, one slip can make both him and Maple fell off. Determined it was too risky, they agreed to go down in their student forms.

Of course she couldn't understand what AJ was attempting to say, nor that he was saying much at all in the serpent tongue, but she was able to notice that the hissing seemed to... have a few note changes like it was a language in itself. Whatever he was doing, more importantly, seemed to be working and it was only when the large creature was gone that she peeked back out.
The zombified deer took her notice, naturally, and Maple felt a small pang of sadness. Oh, the familiar she would never have. She forced herself to look away and continue down the mountain - now with AJ back to his bipedal form. (At least it saved her from asking him if she needed to carry his egg).
It hadn't occurred to her how the rocky the terrain had been given she had an easier time climbing up this time around. But she found it a little difficult in a few areas to navigate. It was a little steeper, and a little more loose. Maple took her time but perhaps not the best thing to do in a few of the areas. Given how a baby wyvern suddenly appeared near one of the cliffier areas of the mountain. It roared at the witch - it was actually kind of cute - and attempted to push her off. But she managed to not misstep and lose the egg. And got away.

[Down the Cliffside]It wasn't alone, another small one bounced out. While laughing at their deeds, one bumped into him. It roared like a kitten and picked up by the back of its neck. "Maple, do you think we can bring them home?" The wyvern bit at the finger wiggled in front of it, limbs brandishing. "Oh, haha. Too young for you to prey on, little thing." The boil chuckled loudly. The wyvern growled more, "Alright, alright, just kidding." He put the wyvern on a safe place before he set off again. Shortly, they arrived at the forest. Head was mumbling all the way they climbed down the cliff, "I'm much more adorable...." It seemed to be pouting.

Maple honestly wouldn't have totally objected to taking one of them, she already had a few minipets that looked a little similar and had similar natures. But, taking one from the wild didn't seem like the best idea in the world. "I.. d-don't think.. the v-villagers.. w-would want us t-too..." Was the best answer she could give as she continued down, following what looked like a trail and beaten path.
It lead her to what seemed like a small patch of forest. Trees weren't too bad but what blocked the path was. Maple's shoulder's slumped when she spotted the snake - perhaps the one from earlier? It totally seemed like the one from earlier, the way it looked at her. The witch tried to run, to hide behind some of the trees but its massive body loomed over her so quickly and body slammed into her. Th egg was crushed in mere seconds. All that hard work and now she was trapped underneath a snake.
"Aa!"

[Forest]It was a mistake that he loosened up when they reached the forest. Through the slope planted with trees, it would be the base. Walking behind the witch, AJ couldn't see what caused Maple's body frozen, but something suddenly divided them. In straight reaction, he leaped backward. "It was you again." He recognized it was the deer minipet he saw on the summit, it had a strange ring marking on its leg front limb. He dodged and charged forward, but the minipet moved to block his way. "Hey, what do you want?" He put his hands on his hips with a helpless smile. Simultaneously, a scream can be heard, "s**t, Maple!" The boy quickly switched to his beast form and lunged at the snake, it curled around and opened its jaws and sucked the fangs into the snake's long body. It hisses to tell it go away with a fierce look. However, it was too late when he rescued Maple, her egg was broken. "It's okay, I see there are some eggs on the summit. We can try again." He smiled. "I wonder if I'm the one attracts the snakes, or it's you?" xchirigami Let's roll 4d6 next post!

Maple still remained sprawled on the ground even after AJ had valiantly come to her rescue. Oh how she wanted to just lay there or something and wait out this entire event or sink in the ground. Or something. She sighed and rested her cheek on the ground. "We.. s-seem p-popular with th-them..." So many snakes. Hopefully she didn't develop an issue with them... like stairs for some reason.
Did she want to try again though? "Y-you c-can .. go on w-without m-me if you want..." Assuming his egg was still intact, she was sure it was.meegane Noticed you made yourself a new thread to complete the quest ~ sorry for taking so long! I'll go do the same *salute*

"I'm not going without you, Maple. Let's take a good rest before we try again?" AJ gently asked and sat down next to the witch. "I believe it was a test to our persistence. The villagers are so paranoid that they didn't trust outsiders at all," he explained, "Yet, their attitudes changed slightly as we proved ourselves by completing different task they asked for." He picked up a strand of hair slid onto her face, he looked at her with a tender expression. "Don't give up that easily, Maple. Failures will get you stronger, they provide valuable experiences, that's what my Shishou said." He grinned breezily.
