- It seems as if the villagers now want you to collect some eggs. Some untainted, un-miasma fused precious wyvern eggs from an exotic wyvern couple that sadly passed away. You must scale a very high mountain in order to get these eggs.
- Your character is dropped off at the base of the mountain. The goal is to climb the mountain and get the egg. To scale the mountain, you must write a jaunty 250 word post of your character scaling the mountain. You can do this as you please, there are plenty of angry nesting minipets, boulders, and possibly giant serpents blocking your way. As you reach the top, obtain the egg, and you are ready to begin your descent.
- Every single creature possible, especially rolling sand lobsters, will try to destroy your egg. Roll 1d4 four times and match your dice roll to the prompt below to reach the bottom of the mountain. Yes, repeats do happen if you roll a repeat. Your egg has 10 HP. If you make it down without the egg reaching 0 HP (breaking) you made it!
1) A sand lobster rolls right into your egg and nearly breaks it! -2 HP 2) Strange velociraptor minipets are hungrily staring at your egg. They try to attack it! -1 HP 3) A giant snake smacks you with its giant tail. Ouch! -3 HP 4) Nothing happens. You were lucky!
gaia_star If you successfully get an egg to safety, you get herbivore egg. It is considered a quest item. Add it to your quest item list!
Uttam had led the two students straight to a villager who began rambling on and on about getting some eggs that hadn't been tainted by the miasma - the stuff surrounding the village - and delivering them back to the village. Apparently the parents of said eggs had passed away, probably due to the miasma, or maybe all the ferocious and weirdly aggressive minipets. Uttam never had liked the things.
And, it turned out, they had to climb a very large mountain to get there. Uttam cringed at the peak, making hissing swears under his breath. Heights he was not good with, nor was he the best of climbers. The sand dunes did not need climbing, simply moved around or through. Mountains were for War and Death. "Nng." He turned toward the two boils, folding his arms.
"One of you go first, hm? i will stay down here, catch you if you fall."

Are you kidding?
Mellow who still holding hands with Torsten stared at the mountain in disbelief. Well, he could fly float up there, but there came problems. One, he didn't wish anyone seeing his stupid natural form. Second, considering the distance.....it would use up his stamina before he could arrive. Third, how about the remaining two? The equine demon quiet down and mused, got into his own world instead of moving.
He born as a water-affined demon, Ceffyl Dwr lived near water bodies but not mountains. He had no experiences on climbing a mountain, regardless of height. Looking up, he seemed to make out some dangerous inhabitants. He squinted his eyes to see clearly and sighed. It's gonna be a tough day, curse the driver taking them there.
Still in his own musing, Mellow didn't move an inch.
Torsten blinked as he looked up at the Mountain, glancing back to the other two he looked confused. Did they not know how to climb. Wasn't that just like babies knowing how to swim? It was natural right. The small boil looked at the two others before giggling. "Its easy Mellow. Watch."
Letting go of Mellow's hand the smaller boil used his natural levitation to gain a few feet of jump. Grasping a rock ledge he hoisted himself to a good firm stand. He smiled down at Mellow before easily jumping down to meet his companion at the base again. "See! All you have to do is find that first good grip. Its easy. if you would like I can guide you."
The small boil took both of Mellow's hands in his. "I'll be right beside you."

Uttam watched on as Mellow and Torsten did... well, pretty much nothing. Mellow seemed frightened of the climb, but the little dragon boil seemed to be almost ecstatic to climb the mountain... and very supportive of the other boil. Uttam piqued a brow at the both of them, almost sneering. "What do they teach you, in this school that you attend? Cowardice and whining?"
The horseman shook his head and undid his shawl, revealing the gaping hole of missing flesh and tissue that should have been his right ribs, and tied the tan article around his waist. "You are creatures of FEAR, scarelings. FEAR does not show fear, mountains and small creatures whose bites would be like flecks of sand dusted up by a strong wind are of no threat to you. You are FEAR, FEAR conquers all."
A skinny and rugged hand grabbed onto a ledge, a bare foot following, and Uttam began to make his ascent. The minipets who hissed at him were hissed back at, even a few swatted away with the back of his bony, gnarled hands.
He reached the top and found the eggs the villagers had sent them off to find. "Easy as mudpies." He grinned, picking one up and tying it inside his shawl, creating a makeshift satchel for the precious cargo.
Now all he had to do was sit and wait for the other boils, if they ever worked up the courage to scale the mountain. Uttam silently mourned for this next generation of youth, and their lack of gusto. If only they could all be like his Hel.
He'd stopped Torsten from his demonstration but he didn't. It might be the first time the horseman and the small dragon saw someone completely zoned out. It was already a deep rooted habit when Mellow mused something for a considerable time. Misunderstood, he wasn't afraid or else, he was simply trying to figure out the correct way to do it, whether to switch form and whatnot.
He gazed at Uttam as he scoffed at them, he could see the Famine Soldier looked down at Torsten and him. He sighed in his mind, it was a nice proof of his words that Sal was an elder. Compared to Sal, Uttam looked like an immature kid. He sighed more, of course in his mind.
Sal's body was covered by layers and more layers of fabric, thus it was the first time he saw the skeleton structure of the famine. Mellow stared at it, his mom if presented may say: That's a nice rib! The demon glazed over the lecture-like speech and watched as he climbed up like - in Mellow's words, a reptile.
Mellow turned his head and used a softer (not noticed easily) expression towards Torsten, he felt his pride shattered when another boil thought he was scared. Yet, he didn't stop his demonstration because it was cute. He nodded to inform the dragon he understand when he was back and his warmth delivered through the hands interlaced.
His minuscule pride however shattered like a wine glass crashed against the ground when Torsten thought he was afraid. His mouth invisibly twitched and he adamantly reached out for a ledge and pushed himself up. Bemused, his foot shook like newborn deer when he tried to push himself up. He was like a wet towel hung there, body straightened like a fish and not hoisting. The legs wiggled like a fish bouncing with its tail, he didn't understand why it happened and his eyes widened.
Torsten watched Mellow before leaping onto the ledge above him. Curling his tail around the other he lifted Mellow to the ledge. "Easy as pie. Now then...shall we retrieve those eggs? I'm sure we can climb up together." He spoke softly as he curled his tail closely around the pony. While Torsten was a small dragon compared with...well his entire clan. He made up for it with his agility and crafty mind. He looked to the other boil and felt as if he may have insulted him. Well, who wouldn't feel insulted. Torsten mentally smacked himself, he basicly treated Mellow like a child after seeing the other was nervous about the height. Torsten had to remind himself to keep others in mind.
Not everyone was use to mountains like he was. Heck his first steps were literally on a rock ledge. Heights and climbing were no big deal for him. He glanced to Mellow before leaping up and snagging a egg, his tail was long enough that Mellow could just reach out and touch the tuff at the end. Torsten left it there in case the other needed a lead up to the nests.
