Stretching her arms up over her head, Verusha tried to loosen up her joints and muscles. All this quest doing had her feeling a bit sore. But in a good way. It'd been awhile since she'd had this much fun all wrapped up in one day. And by the sounds of it, it'd only be getting better!
Apparently there was some kind of beast named the Sandwhale, roaming in the sand harbour, causing some sort of distress and havoc. The thing was dangerous, and plenty of the villagers were greatly concerned, with good reason. For Verusha though, it sounded like an awesome challenge she couldn't pass up. "Let's get going then, Canny." she once again urged her familiar, before heading off to check out this threat to the town.
Racing out, it wasn't hard to spot the massive beast in all its glory. "Would you look at that.." she muttered in awe, a hand raising and a low whistle blowing. Glancing around the surroundings, she noted the ballistas that were out for use, wasting no time in checking them out. "Alright then... let's get started!"

Thankfully the ghoul managed to round up just enough ballista's to take down the mighty beast. Setting them up, and prepping them for fire, she aimed them at the creature as it dove and came barreling right towards her and Cannon. Instructing her hound to move on to the next ballista in preparation, she stayed her ground and took the first attack from the whale while her ballista was shot off.
It was a hit! The whale let out a terrible screech of pain, which made the reaper squint, the gust of wind from its dive back into the sand causing her hair and clothes to flutter. Man... such power!

Booking it to the next ballista, wild grin cut along her face, Verusha was feeling the thrill of the fight coursing through her. She couldn't help letting out a little howl of excitement, from what was bubbling up beneath her. The ground shook as the sandwhale began to resurface for another attack, but the ghoul was poised and ready with her weapon, Cannon keeping right at her side this time.
She waited, watching as the colossal sand dweller swam closer and closer. Just a little more... a little more... and now! She shot off the second one, landing another connection, but also a heavy spray of sand that washed over her, knocking her back. Snorting lightly, the reaper shook off the clumps of sand that'd found refuge in her crevices, before hoisting herself back up, to jet to the next ballista, "C'mon Canny!"

Just a few more hits... just a little more to take this thing down! It'd been so long since she'd had a real fight, a real battle. Fist fights were great, but unfortunately that couldn't really happen in this case. But this was just as good. The power of the ballista as it recoiled with every fire was enough of a jolt through her system to imitate a knuckle connecting with a jaw bone.

The whale was getting slower, more sluggish, and the damage was racking up on it. Evident in the behavior it now expressed, becoming sloppy in its attacks and movements, Verusha's moral and drive only increased all the more! Taking the brunt of the feeble attempts the gigantic monster made to try and take her down, the queen of hounds had a fire that ignited in her own eye, a white flame that flickered and glinted with the flash of her pearly whites.
Cannon was feeling the same energy radiating from his summoner, his own eyes glowing brighter, his flames snapping about wildly along his back as he barked at the sandwhale with powerful gusto, announcing dominance.

With a final shot from the last ballista, the whale gave a mighty groan, and fell heavily into the sand. Shaking the ground for a final time, it disappeared beneath the shifting surface, and fled.
Verusha and Cannon were victorious, and let out a howl of triumph in unison.
