 Zavari was walking through the forest, she had left her brother and his mate at their cave. She had found a cave a little ways down the cliff side from them. The forest was teeming with life. She could feel it all around her. It had been several moons since she had left the herd and she thought about it often. She could remember everyone, from the foals to the elders. She sighed as she thought about it. Their old territory hadn't been nearly this rich. Her brother had definitely found a good forest to call his home. She smiled as she remembered the day she got here, thinking about how she would bring him back to the herd. How he would fix all of the problems that were there. She sighed once more remembering the words of her cousin. He had accused her of being just like her brother. That was what had stung her the most, it was after that when she had decided that what was needed was their rightful Protector, her brother. It had all gone down hill ever since her father had died.
Now she was here, with her brother and his mate. She looked up to the darkening sky. It was twilight, her favorite hour. She needed to stop thinking about the past and focus on where she was now. She had left the herd and it was no one's decision but her own. She had come to terms with how things were and she was starting to actually enjoy living in their forest. She came across the small stream that ran through the northern region of the forest. Slowly she waded into the water. It was cool and refreshing against her legs. She kept her ears on alert since she didn't know who or what may be lurking around in the shadows. She gazed up at the sky once more and the coolness of the water mixed with the darkening sky seemed to put her at ease. She smiled to herself still watching the sky. It was peaceful here she decided.
She was beginning to learn the lay of the land and remember where things were. In the mornings she would practice her fighting skills with her brother so that she stayed sharp. She would never harm and innocent and she would never attack without there being a threat to her life or the lives of those around her. Her skills were simply for self defense. She felt the breeze as it picked up, and she turned her face into it. She heard the rustling and the clinking of the bones on the necklace she wore. It was a reassuring sound to her. Something familiar and that reminded her of home.

Fiore went wandering again, where he headed this evening he didnt know, he never did. The graveyard was quite and the roses tended, his sisters were doing what they do so he went to try to find a clue as to his mothers whereabouts. He couldnt recall how long it had been now since she left them in search of vindication, revenge, redemption, peace? He wasnt sure what she sought, he wasnt sure she would even recognize her only son. With a sigh he headed into the depths of the forest amongst the shadows that were part of him and his mother.
He wondered how long he had wondered before he didnt recognize the smells and sounds around him. It didn't take long for him to pick up on the sound of a river near by. He stopped briefly and looked to the shadows of the trees. "Why can I not speak with you?", he sighed and continued towards the sound of the river. It was then that he noticed the smell of what seemed to be another soquili. He thought of going a different direction, but instead decided to go forward and ask if maybe they had seen a shadow mare in the area. It wasnt long before he arrived at the stream and saw a mare in the darkening surroundings. He slowly approached the stream stopping several feet from her his legs fading in and out. He hesitated on speaking knowing he was probably he her territory and one thing he learned was to respect boundaries.

Zavari was caught up in the night sky and the feel of the cool water on her legs to notice the newcomer that stood only a short distance away. Slowly she turned her head as the clouds moved from the moon to cast light down on the two of them. She saw him there, but didn't see him there for a moment. It confused her for a brief second as she took in the stallion. The shock of another being there crossed her face for a moment before she set it back to it's normal unreadable state.
She noted that he wore an armor mask, and that he wore a bit of shoulder armor. Idly she wondered if he was a fighter like she had been. She straightened her body as she moved to face him. "You have come into the Forest of Monsters?" she said in her cool and calm voice. It wasn't every day that someone dared to venture into her brother's forest. She was clearly intrigued by him and his presence there. "What is it that you wish from the Monsters of the Night?" Usually they would be playing the game, but since he had caught her off guard, this would have to do. She watched as his legs faded in and out like shadows, this interested her greatly. 'Does he have that much control over the shadows?' she thought to herself. She would wait for his reply, every action careful and practiced. She would be prepared if he dared to attack her. He would find that her bite was much worse then her bark.

Fiore gave a smirk and a light laugh to himself. 'Forest of Monsters? Interesting'. He looked down at his legs going in and out and willed them to be solid or as solid as they would be. He shifted on his hooves making his armor shift and clink slightly. "Monsters you say? Monsters and Shadows, seems fate that I wondered here."
His eyes trailed around him, glancing to the dark sky and to the stream, he took a few steps to the stream and looked at his reflection. "The night can be full of terrors and always shadows, but you say this is the forest of Monsters yet Ive seen none. As for what I wish, well nothing yet something just within my reach, just beyond the shadows. But the shadows deny me." He broke into a full smile and laughed to himself as he lowered his head and removed his mask, he never liked wearing for long periods of time, but always left it on when he left the graveyard. He carefully tossed it back to hang on his saddle on his back. "Forgive me, I most sound mad. My lineage is a strange one, you can say shadows are in my blood, but diluted in me to where they wont commune with me to tell me of my mothers whereabouts. I dont suppose you've seen anyone remotely like me? However, she truly is one with the shadows and hides within them, I was not blessed with that gift."no mask

She listened to him as he spoke to her in what almost seemed to be riddles. She tilted her head as she watched his mannerisms. He was different then those of her old herd, but in a way he wasn't so different from her own brother. She watched as he removed the mask and hung it on his saddle. It was a strange sort of armor, and something about the way it clinked together made her smile. It was an interesting sound, which reminded her of home. The clinking of armor and bones together in the wind, Chains rattling it was all familiar to her. She removed the mask from her face as well and shifted it so that it almost seemed like a sideways hat. Her runic markings almost seemed to glow in the growing darkness.
"Just because you do not see the "Monsters" does not mean they are not there... They could be lurking in the shadows just waiting for their moment to strike..." Her voice was still her normal calm and cool tone. This new male interested her. She would not easily give him her name or the name of her family. She was intrigued by him and his odd ways, though in some ways there were almost too similar. They way he talked about the darkness and the shadows interested her more then anything. After all she wasn't a Night Hunter for nothing. Her best time was the night. "I do not think you mad... simply... One of the night." She put it simply since there really wasn't a better way to put it. She had herself spoken about the darkness and the shadows in ways similar to how he just had.
Her expression changed to one of curiosity as he asked about a female like himself. 'Could he be looking for Demeira?' she thought to herself. She had become very well acquainted with the shadowy female, and her ability to blend into the shadows. She hesitated for a moment before she spoke. "I do know of one who can become shadow..." she said, her voice not revealing the curiosity and the concern that she now felt. "Although she does not look like you... and She has wings..." She said half to herself. He focused back on him once more. "I do not think she would be the one you were looking for... If you are really looking for one who Looks like you..." Her new "Sister" was a shadow walker but that was about as far as the resemblance went. She waited to see what the newcomer would say to this.
