- We at Nightmare Academy greatly encourage creativity, and questing is one of our favorite things to see! While you do not need to set up a pre-owned character for approval, this thread is instead used to help customers create characters and allow them free chances at getting their character via other means. One example is the Monthly Quest Raffle, where every month a list is created of approved quests and one winner is rolled.
However, questing comes with another perk. If your quest has been approved, you can get it done free of charge if you win it in customs! Interested in questing? Awesome! Please read this entire thread, then!
Label your quests with either [U/C] or [READY]. U/C means under construction and will alert staff to stay out of your thread, while READY will alert us to begin critiquing immediately.
You may have only three approved quests at a time! Once you've won the character you were questing for, please make a note in your questing thread and we will remove it so another slot can be filled.
Please only create one thread per character, unless the characters are twins.
If you are not staff, please refrain from critiquing threads unless someone requested your assistance! If requested, customers are more then welcome to assist one another, but they have no final say on staff critiques.
All quests must stay within race lore.
Do not argue with the staff critiquing your thread. However, if you feel like the critique was unfair then send a PM to Embi-lamb or nepsah with the details pertaining to your quest.
If you are questing a pet from another shop to be converted onto Nightmare lines, then please provide the cert of the original pet so we can confirm that you're the owner.
Images that go beyond PG-13 rating, such as gore, violence, or nudity should not be placed within your quest thread.
The use of slurs to describe your character is also not permitted.
Please refrain from using bright and blinding colors within your quest thread.
Please spoiler and warn users if your quest pertains an image of an insect or other potentially upsetting images.
Artists can take artistic license with the following:
• written descriptions
• altering proportions (things that look good on a chibi may not translate well on a NMA base--same with more realistically proportioned art.)
• hair style (hair can be very difficult to draw, especially when using cartoon references and translating in to personal styles)
• colors or color combinations (IE, using a color that is close but not exact as to what is requested in a design.) We have the right to tweak colours as needed to make it work with the design.
• outfits (outfits given will be considered inspiration from this point forward. Obviously we will try to translate things as well as we can, but due to limitations in artist skill and base size, outfits may not be exact.)
Guilt-tripping/whining will be enforced if the above is complained about.
Quests are now the only current way to get infected characters + illegal spells.
