The camp was a marvel of solitude, and the curiosity of engineering feats inherent to "secret" models of clandestine architecture, but for the interest of momentum it will remain mostly the former. Digressions aside, there were things done here which would suggest illusions were being pumped into the young Succubus' mind; a byproduct of the masterful planning made possible by the curious substances used throughout the more important parts of Underworld; and yet more questions along the aforementioned mindset.
Along either side was a tower. When looking at one the other would disappear, even though both should have been visible in the same frame from the distance they stood from the camp. Camp in itself was a bit of a misnomer. It should have been called a fortress; but alas an army is required for that title and Janus had none, mostly on intention. In the middle was an entrance of sorts which looked like an old beat-up door to some run-down castle in some place Americans can't pronounce correctly that lead to a court visible at the top of one's gaze when looking at the old door; but of course that too disappeared when one tried to focus on it. What happened to these pop-up structures is impossible to say, even for the cleaning staff. That too was part of the secrecy, to weave a web so complex and paradoxical that not even the spider could tell nodes from threads. "Well, here we are... Melanie?" Janus had set her bag down and was looking at her little shack, she called it sometimes, with the kind of tinkled eyes you'd expect to see some old-timer looking at an old schoolhouse with, even if he'd never been. The Alzheimer's was infectious as the GoD waited for Melanie to quit marveling at the place and say something.

Melanie sure did her best to keep herself near Janus at all moments. With all the disappeaing structures she feared that Janus might disappear as well any time soon.
After they reached their reunion point, she lowered her bag to the floor as well while looking at Janus, just a little troubled, but who wouldn't be in her place?
"Uh, yes..."
Melanie placed herself next to Janus, for safety reasons.
"What is this place? It doesn't look like any of the other camps I've been before."

"It's my home away from home: where I do all my best work." Janus smiled at Melanie and waved over to one side of the camp. "That side there, people only see it when they're not looking for it. That's why this place is so confusing. No one can really find it because they don't know what they're looking for; and when they do they're too focused on one thing to see what's really going on." This place looked old. It was possible that this was the first place Janus came to when she turned into a demon.
"Don't worry, you'll get used to it!" She giggled. "C'mon, you're gonna want to meet the staff."
Janus skipped off to the gate like a giddy schoolgirl. On the other side was a ghost town. A few moments would pass in eerie silence before a maid, or something, came to greet them. "Janus...? What the heck? Is something wrong?"
"No, ma'am! I just have a reason to be here now."
"I know! That's what's wor--"
"Melanie, Amanda. Amanda, Melanie. One of Lilith's new one's. The one's you've heard about." She reversed her pointed thumb on the maid. "And she's been with me for a while. She should know where things are if you get lost."
"Yes, ma'am..." Amanda offered to take Melanie's things if she needed help. There was a standing fog of distrust hanging about the camp. Even Melanie would be able to sense eyes burning holes in her back from windows and things shifting about in mobius ways.

Melanie would soon find a new roommate which apparently run the maid role. Giving a small reverence, Melanie greeted Amanda as introductions were made by Janus. "Pleased to meet you Amanda... I will be in your care." Melanie replied with a deep fluster. It had been a while, but she kept feeling she was being observed ever since she got here. Made her feel a little uncomfortable, but as long as she was by Janus's side, she would endure it. "Oh no, please I couldn't bother you with something as simple as this, I can take them myself." She commented, wondering where would they be staying at.

"Oh, it's really no problem... Please." Melanie said it herself; as long as it wasn't a big deal then the maid could just as well take her things. Even Janus shot the young Succubus a look. Hell to pay for making a demoness lose face.
Whether or not Melanie gave up the ghost on her luggage a tour was in order. Amanda wasted no time giving Melanie part of the tour on the way to wherever it was the redhead would be sleeping. "This place was built with a very special material; and it'll allow you create things according to your skill and level of magical power." She would go ahead an answer the next obvious question with, "That's why this place is so good for rookie illusion-makers! Creating a world out of imagination is much easier once you see it done for real!" She clapped her hands together and a sparkle rippled through her eyes as she thought of it.
"Exactly," said Janus picking up where the maid left off. "It might seem weird at first, but once you get the hang of altering reality here you'll be a pro when you need to create one from scratch." At this point they were coming closer to the central plaza. From the looks of it Janus was really a queen amongst demons. A ritzy hotel stood watch over the East side with regal velvet and exclamatory gold in all the right places.
"There it is; just as you left it, Lady Janus! Is there anything else?"
"No, I think that's it for now. We'll call for you when we're ready for the tour." The GoD turned to Melanie. "So, what do you think?"

"Illusions? But I've never done any of those before" She replied, intimidated by the rookie first timer experience, a typical case of fear to fail. The girl would look up to Janus as she provided with complementary comments as the maid explained how it was easier once you got the hang of it. But still, Melanie didn't felt that confident about her own skills, most likely since she had never tried them before.
As they reached a rather luxurious hotel, she felt even more intimidated by Janus's mastery at Illusions.
"A-am I really going to pull stuff like this?"

"You can if you want to," said Janus with a shrug. "Let's go out on the balcony; it's such a nice night." When Melanie looked over to the window where Janus nodded to there would be a balcony seemingly out of nowhere. This was a hotel, not a condo; but Melanie would find these changes didn't stop there. The entire plaza was changing before her eyes to match whatever predictable images associated with this new addition to a seemingly inconsequential piece of the scenery.
"Not bad, right? This is what it's like to make illusions. The only difference here is," she nodded to another maid girl who stopped pouring tea upon noticing the changes to wave at the two, "the things you imagine are real to everyone, not just you." Of course there was the danger inherent to this method in a false sense of security or a loss of realism, but this was a bridge to cross later; and could even prove to be an asset in Melanie's development.

"I-I don't think the tour would help me anymore" She replied with a chuckle, flustering lightly in embarrasment. Now feeling more jealous than intimidated by Janus's skills. Whatever the demoness was doing it sure worked to keep Melanie comfortable around the black haired demon. Waving back at the maid, Melanie turned moments later to meet up with Janus. "But how do I even start?"

The plaza was filling with people now, making it apparent that a city, no matter how fleeting, was an organism which ran most smoothly when filled with busy, cheerful microbes and cleaned of dust to within decimals of a mole per square foot. This was the way it was to work at the camp, and the workers looked to be elated at the return of their creative sun; themselves the campus to which delight could only come from worth hands. Somewhere amid the conversation Janus must've heard something to tip her off to an invisible presence.
"I think I know a place. Come on." Janus started off to the end of the balcony; which turned into a walkway itself with a nice railing that wrapped around the whole outside of the floor. It would lead them to another girl's balcony.
"Alicia!" "Hi, Janus..."
"Aw, don't say it like that. You can't be that bored of me. I just got here!" Janus had a giggle, Alicia silence. "...Anyway, Melanie, this is--"

"Melanie. Pleased to meet you" Melanie greeted this Alicia person Janus had introduced her just seconds ago with a slight reverence. She got the impression those two were really close, most likely due to how Janus acted towards Alicia. The redhead tried really hard to focus on the situation at hand, but with the ever changing environment it was hard for Melanie to keep her eyes on those two.

"I'm sure." Alicia was one of those special types of girls who was able to bored or else passive aggressive towards things and people and even ideas which hadn't yet been presented to her: presciently passe, if you will. This was the way those with a list of regrets longer than their expected lifespan tended to act. In keeping a great promise to be more friendly, she spoke again to the new one.
"... Janus tells me you're new. Lilith herself turned you, right?" And now searching, "that must be fun." Maybe not the most skilled at small talk, and invariably there would be some flicker of "EH?? I tried!" blinked at Janus through its own ever-changing path. At some point a Biker Rally razed the rim of the horizon with sounds of clacking and roaring laughter and engines and fiery pooled heat which allowed for the illusion within the illusion of a sustained heat wave dimension; one on which there existed peerless clarity on either side of that shimmering sheet.
"Alicia's one of our quiet ones; mostly because she thinks her brain is so big some of her precious gray matter will leak out of her if she opens her mouth." Janus had another giggle. Something about Alicia just made her that happy, and anyone watching this would be a fool to mistake this for anything but the highest admiration from, as she still considered herself, the highest of beings.
"Well, I least I don't have to play pretend. Right, Janus?" She decided to turn to Melanie, as it seemed they were using her now as the medium for their friendly little insult ping pong. "You may not know this one yet, little one, but Janus here likes to wear masks, so to speak. Oh, man! You should've seen her when she was young!" Now Alicia was stifling some laughter. Her smile was the essence of the sun behind her; capable of a few rays even on the way down. The threw her hands up, finally giving up this game. She and Janus had a little game: whenever they saw each other they would try to see how much of the other's crap they could take; how well they could play along; even if it was just to pretend to escape to that endless oasis of entertainment the youthful, ignorant, and perhaps enlightened liked to call___
"Alright, Jan, you brought her here for a reason. Really, just one more detail...?"
"Fine, fine," Janus said waving off the smoke from the overheating Alicia MX 5000. Curious model. "I'd like your help getting this one used to illusions, if you wouldn't mind. I know you're bus--ahahahaha!! Sorry. That was too hard even for me." Alicia scowled, then laughed herself.
"Wow, someone's in trouble. You don't even know how much you owe me."
"I don't? Oh, man... Isn't that how it works?" Said Janus shifting her weight to a more thoughtful/confused pose. "Ya know, that's kinda like slavery; if I don't know how much I owe, then what's to stop you from--OHH! Gotcha... Still, no, though." Alicia smirked and gave an eyebrow.
"I'll take that as a yes!" Janus jumped up and down a couple times and snatched up Melanie's hand to tell her the good news as if she wasn't there for it. "Melanie! Why aren't you excited??"

Melanie tried her best to follow, but her mind wasn't the sharpest. So, to her it was an awkward yet friendly meeting between the two, demons? This place changed so much and she was easily drift away bit its Illusions. For a moment, she actually believed them both to be human... not only that, but... real close to each other.
As Janus asked her why she wasn't happy about it, she temporally snapped out from this daydream as she flustered.
"I'm sorry... Would it be okay? I mean... I really know nothing of this... wouldn't I annoy Alice with my tardiness?"
Melanie grew quickly nervous, but at the same time curious due to how familiar those two were to one another.
"Pardon me... but... are you two... sisters?"

"Well, people don't really tend to know things like this until they're introduced to it, so yeah..." Alicia swept her hair over a little and took another look at Melanie, then to Janus, "So, what do you want to get from this?" Seeming to ask it to both of them. Janus answered first.
"Alicia, quit~!" She whipped her wrist playfully at the thought to dismiss it. "She's a pawn now. I don't think I have to tell you she's going to be working very closely with Lilith and I from now on; would you really trust a house if the leaders didn't know what was going on?" She took a cigarette out of her pocket; she'd always carried her packs in a shallow pocket with one cig standing taller than its brothers for this quick draw action, and took the inaugural drag.
"I want her to be able to at least not look like... This, when she has to deal with illusions." She turned to Melanie with a concerned mother's look. "Sorry, hun, but right now you look like Bambi. We need to have a chain of strong links."
"Pretty much..." The other demoness took out her phone and seemed to text something. A note? A text to somebody more important than Janus?
"Sisters?" Both laughed in unison; at once denying and confirming the assumption. Alicia took this one. "No, not really; though you could argue that all demons are related in some way. But I'm guessing you didn't mean that. We've just known each other for a very long time; after a couple millennia you sort of just become the
same person." "Same person." They answered as one again as Janus stepped over to Alicia's side of the balcony. "Now, you can either learn how to illusions or not, that's up to you, but we at least need you to be used to them. So, you can either just hang out her for a couple weeks or we can try to get you to make things with this awesome material," she said pointing the floor to reiterate the whole place was made from the aforementioned wonder-stuff which responded to perceptions and desired observations like a quantum physicist's wet dream.

Melanie flustered in embarrasment as Janus pointed out the redhead's current condition. "I'm sorry..." She said looking away from them for a moment. it wasn't much tho as she would soon return to have Alice confirm those two had known each other for a millennia... that was. Quite the time. "Would I get to be as cool as you after a millenia?" Melanie asked shyly, she was but a mere apprentice white those two had thousands of lives worth of experience. The more she tried to compare herself with them, the more she regretted her decision. They were just too much for her. On the other hand, the tail was excited with this new person, another possible victim waiting to be mauled between it's sharp blades. As the tail was healing, Melanie did had some free time to hang around Janus and Alice, but as soon as the gear felt it had enough change to kill or attempt to kill one of them it would do so even at the risk of killing Melanie in the process.
Back with the training, they showed her what illusions were made of. Staring at it with awe she did resembled the little deer from the books.
