Should Megastones be Limited to One Pokemon per Battle? |
No, I would prefer that we let people have and use as many mega pokemon as they want. |

Yes, but only during battles between two RPer's characters, so that RPers don't feel forced to get a team of mega pokemon to stand a chance at keeping the title of Champion or winning a PVP Tournament. |

Yes, Megastones should be limited to one pokemon per battle, period. |

Yes, but perhaps in this manner? (List your idea in a reply below!) |

We here at P:ER do try to keep things as close to canon as possible when it comes to game mechanics, but we also would like to allow as much creative freedom as possible. One of the things we strayed from with the game mechanics is the concept of Megastones. We didn't limit megastone usage in teams at first because mega pokemon aesthetics are nice to have, the designs are cool and the abilities helpful. However, having a team of mega pokemon each getting a boost to every single one of their attacks seems potentially excessive, and in PVP situations, such as a fight for a chance at becoming the League Champion of a region, or future potential tournaments between characters for actual rewards, it presures people to get teams with at least a few mega pokemon to stand a chance, even if they wouldn't normally want to, which often means claiming a megastone instead of another event item that they might rather have just in order to "keep up" with the rest of the members.
Therefore there's been some concern amongst both members and mods in regards to Mega Stones. Having a boost to all attacks, even if it's x1.3, is a large advantage in combination with a great deal of the powerful mega abilities granted with pokemon that can mega evolve, such as Mega Launcher, Filter, Drought, or Adaptability.
The question at hand is, should we limit Megastones so that only one pokemon can gain it's perks in a battle like in the games?
Therefore we would like your opinion on potentially limiting all pokemon battles, or at least all battles between Players to only allow the use of one mega pokemon, and we would like to put the decision to a guild wide vote. Please help us decide and explain your reasoning behind it in this thread!
Also, we would like to note as we did in the announcement that there has been an adjustment to the ability Adaptability. It's power has been reduced from x2 to x1.5 from here on out, so please make note of this change if it effects any of your pokemon. Thank you!

I'd be fine with making it one per battle, however the way I see it (using Mega Stones I have) Mega Camerupt gets the 1.3 bonus, send out Mega Houndoom who looks mega but doesn't gain the bonus. Since I don't want to be forced to change the sprite over and over.

I say max 3 mega evolutions per battle. That way its not as op as a full team of megas and we can see kanto starters vs hoenn starters mega battle lol During specific events or tournaments you can specify if these rules would be bent. I.e a true champions tornament, 6v6 mega battles. Or a movie type event.
As long as i can

Since I don't want to be forced to change the sprite over and over. If we did limit megastone usage it would be fine if you kept the houndoom looking mega during a battle, but if you chose to have your camerupt be your chosen mega Pokemon, your houndoom would not get the benefit of the megastone attack boost nor the mega ability, not just the attack boost. Just clarifying smile

Really all a mega stone is a form change item with a power boost that changes ability's. Unlike in the games we don't get the Hp, Def, Sp-Def, or Speed boost so really its no worse then a Deoxys change-form holding Choice Specs. Yeah its still stronger then normal but not by much. Really all we get is the ability's change which isn't always helpful. IE a steelix with sheer force is stronger then a mega steelix.

Actually, I don't think Deoxys gets an attack boost by changing form, since, as we have it, it can just change form whenever :0 I think there was sort of agreement that if it started gaining attack boosts, it would have to use an item to change form, to make things more even. Also, Choice Specs only allows the use of one move, and only raises Special Attacks o vo So Megastones are the only thing that raises all attacks by x1.3 as far as items go, I think...

Just going to mention. During battles In the game and Npc or PvP one can only have one Mega-evolved Pokemon at a time, even if the Pokemon who mega evolved fainted, another cannot mega evolve. That being said, I don't like that restriction when it comes to the guild or PvP battles. When pit against another sentient being, you'd like to have every advantage under the table to use at your disposal, however, having a full team of six mega's when the opponent only has one or none, hardly seems fair, even if they have every other advantage. So for NPC or even Gym/ Elite battles, I like having the option to have more then one mega evolved Pokemon at once, but in PvP have it only one can mega evolve.
Makes for a lot more stratigizing.
