The tail itself is a wonderful yet terrible weapon. You see, the tail feeds on the host's spine until it completely devours it and takes it place. This not only grants the bearer full use and potential of this gear, but if the tail breaks... well you may get an Idea of that would happen to your body.
It it said that the tail holds a personality of it's own, vicious and vindictive, it requires constant dotting and spoiling to keep it at bay.

About you:
Melanie is a amber eyed redhead which attends to Kuoh Academy in hopes the school would fix her rebellious tendencies. While having a conservative home, there's no need to say the moment she started replacing dresses for tomboyish looks, love towards heavy metal music and trash metal. Along with some rock music. Her parents started to freak out.
Hearing such good references from Kuoh academy she was quickly transferred there in hopes they would correct her problematic attitude.
Coming from a Doctor's home with both parents specializing in a different major in medicine. It was no surprise she was good at CPR and first aid courses.
With the over exaggerated discipline and expectations of her parents she's one of the most profitable students. With top scores on her tests. Of course there are lots of brainy students out there, so having good grades it's not the same it used to be, just the plain basis. Nothing to be really proud about it.
Regardless of her good grades, her intimidating appearance make her a little harder to approach. That hasn't stopped her from interacting with other people, just from forming any solid relationships.
As another hobby placed to her by her parents, she has been into gymnastics ever since she was a little girl. Which is why her body is so flexible. One could usually found her on awkward positions which makes it even harder for people to approach her.
