 Adrien wandered in the streets of the town, whistling to himself as he looked at merchant stalls, glancing mostly at the wares and valuables. He couldn't help but grin to himself, knowing that they would be missing some of their things the next morning. Adrien was a very skilled thief, and was very inconspicuous as well. He never left a trail behind, and would use a memory spell if anyone caught a glimpse of him. Despite all of this, he was still young, and not considered a master thief yet. But he would soon show his guild that he was the best thief in there, aside from the master himself. He suddenly stopped when he caught a slight glimpse of a young woman with dog ears. He rubbed his eyes, thinking they were deceiving him.

 Melody, an inu, was in the marketplace doing some shopping. She didn't have much because of her living a lower middle class life. As she payed for her food, she started off towards her home but noticed Adrien looking at her as she passed him. She blushed as she was embarrassed about her ears and tail. She was scared he was going to pick on her so she kept moving after putting her hood up, not wanting to be an outcast anymore.

Adrien blinked as he watched her put her hood over her head, then smiled a little as he slipped into an alley. Once there, he climbed up onto the rooftops so that he could follow the inu back to her home. He was very curious about her, but a little shy about approaching her. After all, she was the first inu he had met, and he didn't want to offend or startle her.

Melody walked almost to the slums of town. She was somewhat on the border and therew as an eviction notice on her door. When hse got the door open, she pulled the notice off of the door and was greated by a wolf sized Husky as she opened the door. He was pure white with blue eyes and his name was Tundra. Melody was crying as she put away the food and pet Tundra who whimpered as she said "Looks like we're gonna have to move back home with mom and daddy, Tundra. I don't know where else to go." She said as she brought her knees up to her chest and Tundra placed his head on her shoulder. "Thanks boy. I don't know of any other friends that would stick with me through this." She said to him petting the Husky's head gently as his tail wagged and he licked her arm as he was pet.

Adrien had followed her back to her house, and sat outside the open window, listening to her speaking to her pet husky. Then he sat up and poked his head in the window. "So, you're living on your own for what reason?" he asked curiously, his hazel eyes boring into her, carefully looking over her features.

Tundra then started to bark and growl at Adrien as Melody jumped and started shaking as she stood and looked at that had surprised her. "W-Who are you!?" She said in a scared way as she backed away.

Adrien smiled, seeming to be used to dogs barking at him because of his profession as a thief. "Sorry, name's Adrien. I saw you at the market this morning, and was kind of curious about you." he said, waving a little at her. Despite his just barging into her window, he was rather charming and cheerful in his disposition. "Shucks, I didn't even ask you what your name is. What's your name? And, your dog?"

"I'm Melody. Melody Inuzowa and this is Tundra....." She said placing a hand on Tundra's head as a sign to be on guard but to stop barking and growling, which he did. He sat glaring at Adrien hoping he would leave. Melody was terrified that Adrien was going to hurt her in some way. She was never really trusting of others because of her parents. "To answer your earlier question, I'm living alone because I.......well.......I'm kind of hiding from my ex........But I'm having trouble living on my own so.....we're going back to live with my mom and dad." She said with her ears back. She was not sure what to make of Adrien.

"Oh, I see..." he said, looking a little down. "Well, that's too bad. I had hoped to get to know you better. It's not too often a guy meets a dog girl. And a cute one, at that!" Then he twirled his finger on the windowsill. "I've been living on the streets all my life, so...well.. Maybe I could help you keep your house! I have a very well paying job, so I could help you pay the landlord!"

"Are you sure? I mean.......we did kind of just meet after all." Melody said calming down some before Tundra laid down on his bed by the old fire place, watching Adrien carefully having a bad feeling about him. Melody did too but she never did listen to the bad feelings she had.

"Hey, I'd like to have a roof over my head in the rain for once." he said, shrugging. "If you don't want me hanging around, that's fine... I'm sure I can find shelter elsewhere." This time, he started fingering his dagger belt, playing with the hilt of his dagger. Adrien then pulled out a coin purse, tossing it to her. "But, that should help your rent for another month."

Melody caught the money but thought about it. "Wait!" she said as she looked at him before adding. "You can stay but only if you promise to do your fair share around here." She added before looking at Tundra who huffed at Adrien not liking him at all. Melody then gave the money back to Adrien and said "Thank you for helping us. Would you like a drink or something to eat maybe? I don't have much but you're welcome to what I have." She then smiled shyly at him standing just below his forehead. She was an average sized girl but hoped that her hunch about Adrien was wrong.

"Y-you mean that?!" he asked, smiling at her. "Oh boy!" He excitedly hugged her out of compulsion. "Thank you, thank you!" Then he set the money on a table and smiled. "Don't worry about me and food. I can get my own food, at the least." He knew that Tundra was being very cautious around him because he was a thief, but he paid it no mind. He was used to the distance others kept from him, and sometimes, he liked it. However, many times, it left him lonely.

Melody blushed when he hugged her the way he did. It caused Tundra to start growling and baring his fangs. "Down Tundra!" Melody said before Tundra laid back down. When she was let go of, Melody smiled and said "Welcome! It's not much but please make yourself at home. We do have a spare room though it's a bit smaller than mine." She said blushing deeply as she started walking towards the spare bedroom door. "Our's is across the way if you need anything." She said pointing to another door where she and Tundra slept.

Adrien sat on the floor and smiled up at her. "You kidding? I'd be grateful to sleep on the floor! Oh, but I work late at night, and all through the night, so I really only sleep during the day." he said, smiling. "Even then, I've got training to do, and all that. So, I hardly ever sleep. But, if I need something, I'll let you know."
