Hollandaise startled as Estel jumped in front of her. Her hands reached out, trying to push the other girl away. "And why should I stop? He... he insulted the Great King! His loyalties no longer lie with the king!" Estel might have had a point about fighting... the in-fighting could not be healthy for the group as a whole. But Hollandaise tried to stubbornly cling to her convictions.

Lock found himself stepping between Holly and Estel. He didn't want to fight either of them and he certainly wasn't looking to cause more chaos. It was a momentary blip in time.
"I agree," he said to Holly, giving a glance to Gawain. Although Lock had worked with him and trusted the knight, it didn't mean Holly had to. Lock could see how one would draw the conclusion that Gawain was traitorous, and even he had his doubts. "Does attacking him keep the gate from being used or destroyed?" he asked calmly.
He lowered his sword for the moment, not convinced that Holly was without reason. "What are you priorities as a knight? Is it the king's reputation or is it the safety of the king's kingdom?"
A look was given to Estel. "You cannot keep them from fighting.." Lock was eerily calm through this all. He looked somewhat tiredly at Estel and continued, "Your passions are admirable, but naive. What is it you need to be doing right now? What is the greatest good you can perform?"

"We rank beneath him all the same!" Estel responded to Hollandaise. "Gawain is trying to stop Morgan from betraying the king and--"
She froze, staring at Lock as his words sunk in.
What is it you need to be doing right now? Not this. Gawain could defend himself. Leaving the two knights behind, Estel scrambled across the piles of treasure towards the gate.

"It is not a knight's place to decide what is done with the gate. I only know what I know," she said, a little desperately. "Gawain is not acting as a knight should - " She stopped and stared levelly at Lock. The girl could not deny that he made fine points, but she was right in this. While everything else was unsure, this was a surety.
She swallowed thickly. "My priorities as a knight are to follow the orders of my knight, Sir Galahad and the Great King. I can only do what I must." And with that, she tried to push violently past him.

Lock watched as one knight fled. At least he had maybe reached her.
The second one was more stubborn though. Oddly, he found that interesting. One hand reached out to stop her- he had more to say.
"We fight for the same knight," he told her, amused by and admiring her dedication to Galahad. "But is our greatest priority not to the code? The law-" Lock looked at her, eyes somewhat dark. "-says our first priority is to follow the individual code of gold." His eyes slid to the three great knights. "Not Galahad."

Hollandaise looked up at him, golden eyes narrowed. Then she laughed, a short, humorless thing. "The code of the knights of gold is to uphold the rules and glory of the knighthood. Tell me-" She swept our her hand towards the three knights still locked in battle. It was clear they would not stop until two of them were defeated.
"Tell me what about him is upholding the knightly code? I attack to defend that code and our king's authority. Even if I did not attack and let such sleights slide unmolested, do you think they would stop?" The last question was said not acerbically, but with a kind of innocent curiosity.

"I told you," he said somewhat impatiently, "I agree with you. He is not acting accordingly." There was no part of him that disagreed that Gawain needed to face judgment, but, "Now is not his time though. Now we must focus on the threat that faces us. The mirror, the Sidhe."
His face melted into surprisingly pleased confusion at her question. "I do not. That's why the golden knights exist."

"It is not my place to decide about the mirror or the Sidhe. All I can do is support true knights and oppose the ones who wear knightly face but hide treasonous hearts." She raised one brow at him. Then Hollandaise sighed and pushed past him once more.
As she past, she patted him absently on the shoulder. "Instead of arguing with me, isn't there something you should be doing?"
