There was just no end to these monsters, were there? One moment Wilson was in the courtyard fighting the generic shadowlings that swarmed everywhere, and next he was fighting this gigantic bird that had appeared seemingly out of nowhere.

While Jake might have taken a short breather from the impending doom of being swallowed by shadowlings, he eventually returned to the courtyard because there was stuff to be done, things to kill, and so on.
Unsurprisingly, it seemed some of the shadows had manifested itself into strange creatures, and Jake stared at it. Maybe... that thing had a weak point? SURELY these things must have a weak point. And since he couldn't really reach any other part of the creature aside from its legs, attacking the legs it was.

Sherry was doing everything she could to help. And if that meant jumping into battles with strange shadows and assisting knights, then so be it. She would do just that. And she did, she jumped right into the nearest battle and swung, no very well, at the creature. "It is certainly a strange type of bird," Sherry commented. Funny looking, aside from it's size. Well, and it was a shadow. As if giant eagles weren't bad enough. Banter. Real banter. Sherry couldn't help but laugh at the other two knights, which, sadly meant she wasn't paying close enough attention to the bird thing. But it was amusing to see someone trading barbs with Jake. It squawked something terrible, and tried to maul her. There was no time for Wilson to snark back at Jake, only time to confusedly fire arrows into its gaping mouth. Luckily, this seemed to do the trick and it fell over, defeated.

Jake only grinned. He was uncharacteristically not grumpy.
"Ok, well, I hold the record of not being eaten by that bird monster"

Still, the thing was down and they were safe... for now.

It seemed it wasn't ALL over yet, and Jake caught sight of something blue from the shadow creature. Moving closer to get a better look, he noticed it was... a berry.

"Yay!" Sherry was very happy to see the birdthing fall over. She was happy to be rid of any and all shadows, but especially ones that had attacked her.
She smiled at the others. "And it was nice fighting with you, Jake." She turned to the other person. "I'm Sherry." There was a wave added on to her greeting.
