Johan patted Fee's nose as he checked his gear. He'd been extremely relieved to see that she'd returned to the stables at Camelot after the fiasco with the bees on the last trip.
He hadn't found the King, but he had found a strange helmet. He wasn't sure it wasn't growing on him. Literally. It seemed to be alive. He hoped it wouldn't put down roots. However, the sweeping branches festooned with pink blossoms were a nice (if feminine) bit of color in a dark world. So, he wore it, and tried to ignore any snickering he heard behind his back.
With his preparations complete, he rode Fee out into the wilderness once more, hoping he might locate the King this time.

As Fee picked her way down the rough trail, Johan kept a wary out for bee hives. He really, really didn't want a repeat of last time. He was so intent on the ground around Fee's hooves, that he managed to overbalance in the saddle, and fall out.

With a sheer plunge into nothingness confronting him, Johan discovered he was apparently part cat. His frantic contortions in the air allowed him to right himself, and grab at the cliff face, halting his fall.
Breathing hard, he climbed back up to where Fee was waiting for him with a disgusted look. At least she was still there. Johan remounted, and checked his supplies. A small amount of food had gone over the edge with him, but nothing too crucial, thankfully.
A close call, but he could continue on his quest.

Safely off the mountain pass, Johan entered the forest once more. With Fee's help, traveling was much easier this time, even somewhat enjoyable, as Johan had the chance to take in the scenery, instead of struggle under the weight of his supplies.
The universe took offense to Johan enjoying himself.
As he progress further into the forest, Johan got to experience the sickness that had plagued his companions on the last trip. Double over in pain, Johan turned Fee back towards Camelot, and gave her her lead.

Oh, that hadn't been pleasant. Not pleasant at all. Thankfully, he seemed to have recovered enough to try again. The quartermaster gave him a funny look as a very shaky Knight-Apprentice requested some supplies.

On the trail once more. Johan was really starting to recognize this stretch around Camelot. Fee stepped out brightly, tack jingling, and for awhile Johan began to feel better about this trip.

As he rode down the trail, he suddenly heard a horrific snarling. Off the side of the trail, no doubt drawn to his food supplies, a small furry projectile launched itself at him. Fee screamed and bucked him off, retreating some distance, but not fleeing entirely.
Johan was left to grapple with the small attacker. As he was being horribly mangled, Johan could only think 'At least it isn't Dysentery.'
He finally managed to punt the creature over the edge of the cliff. Now rather bloody, he collected Fee's reins, calmed her, and then continued on his quest.

Fee was increasing restless on the next leg of the journey. When it came to entering the forest, she balked and would go no further. Sighing, Johan dismounted, gathered his supplies, and sent her back. It seemed that the animal attacking earlier had really shocked her. Hopefully, she would make it back and be able to rest in the Stables. In the meantime, he had a Quest to continue.

Back in the Labyrinth. Remembering the axes from last time, Johan tried a different approach. As it turned out, he should have stuck with the axes.
Another stone shifted beneath him, and behind him, a multitude of discs in the wall opened to reveal a slithering horde of snakes. They surged towards him with single-minded ferocity.
Johan ran, but the snakes kept pace. Some snapped at his ankles. More openings in the ceiling dumped snakes onto his head! Drawing his katana, Johan sliced his way through them, taking a good bit of damage in return.
When he finally stumbled out of the Labyrinth, the snakes remained behind, hissing and spitting at him from the exit before slithering back inside.
