Since she was young, Emiliana has wanted to go into the medical profession. Aware of the requirements, it's not unusual to find the not-as-social of the De Fiore twins studying in the library, or concentrated on a book around campus. Her nose always seems to be buried either in a good fairy tale novel, or a textbook from home that is so worn down that one can tell she's read it time and time again. Retaining information is also a strong suit of hers, so this is really just her way to hold it in. She's been reading since she was a child, and finds herself often carrying a book to tuck her nose in, just whenever she gets a free moment.
Swimming
She can't explain why, but she's always loved the water. Being in it, around it, it's just always been a part of Emiliana's life. She took to swimming like, ironically, a fish to water. She loves being able to race through the water, cut through it like a fish, and prove just how quick she can be. Though the 16 year old isn't on the swim team, she's fine with things the way they are. Competition's not really her style, and she prefers swimming in the large pool behind her family's home anyways. Since her childhood, about the time she was 6 years old, and they had already moved, she started swimming. Her mother taught her how, and they began to do it often. She makes it a point to swim every day, and she enjoys it.
Gardening
The one hobby she and her twin share. She enjoys being in the garden, her fingers deep in the earth. Something about putting life there....helping it thrive and grow. It's a sense of fulfillment that the girl enjoys. Knowing that the entire garden grows by their hand puts her at ease. It's relaxing to be able to just sit back there with her sister, weeding or planting. They often go out after school, and she makes sure to water her flowers every day, and check the soil level. It's been a hobby of hers since she was 12.
Yoga
Something the girl does to relax. Between school and her home life, she can get stressed out, and she loves rolling out the yoga mat in front of the TV in the game room, and going through the whole routine. It's so rhythmic...something patterned and easy. She loves the routine in her otherwise hectic life, and will occasionally go to a place in the city to do it with a class, even though that can be hard, what with Emi being only sixteen and all. Her mother started her doing this every day after school, from the time she was 10, something to keep her daughter relaxed and limber. It was also just something for them to do together, and this is the reason that Emi continued to this day.

Virtues:
||Follow my Heart - Innocent||
Since she was a child, the young woman has been known to have issues with the fact that she trusts nigh-on anyone. Emi's tendency is to follow her heart no matter what, and that can often lead into a bit of trouble. She loves to see the best in people, and often, when she stands in front of them, and they're talking, she refuses to see anything more than the best. Emi has always believed in the fairy tale mentality of everything good comes back to you, and so she treats everyone as though they truly do have nothing more than the best in mind. Instinct comes into play elsewhere as well, not just in trusting people. The fact of the matter is, this thought process, this sensation of the inherent good in everyone, seems to have come from her upbringing. Her family is very rich, which meant that everything came easy to Emiliana. Having never dealt with betrayal or heartache in this lifetime, her feeling of trusting everyone only growing stronger as the people she met never let her down. She's never had a reason to doubt....so why start now? Emi is happiest trusting everyone to be the good person, since it's her way of life, and a mentality she's not likely to change any time soon.

Let me Hold You || Motherly/Caring
Emi seems to have picked up the family aspect from her mother, and tends to be very loving and open. She enjoys being near people, and being there for them when they hurt, or when they need an ear. She'll be the one to cuddle someone even twice her size if they get hurt, the first to go for a first aid kit to patch you up. Emi tends to feel terrible seeing someone cry as well, and so she often ends up being the counselor, sitting there and listening to every word you say until you finally feel better, offering every condolence, and what little advice she can give for her young years of 16. She does her best to be there for everyone, and this can stretch her thin at times, but in her mind? It doesn't matter. Because hey, if you can be there for everyone, you're doing a pretty good job. When she's spread thin, her tendency to offer help is limited to those closest to her, as people outside only manage to agitate her, make her feel as though she wants nothing to do with them. Usually, she can only stand about a week, maybe two of dealing with people's issues (and this is a week or two straight), before finally she cracks, bending under their problems, and finally breaking. Breaking can bring her to her knees, crying and tired, often refusing to come out from her room. It will often take a week before she finally will emerge, right as rain, and ready to go again.

Give Til It Hurts || Charitable
Everything about who she leaves her to offer herself to people. She loves finding homeless people on the street and dropping tens, even twenties in their cups as she passes by. Street performers get tips like crazy, and waiters always get well paid when Emiliana's around. The girl has a need to give, and often will feel guilty if she doesn't, her heart breaking for people in need. The problem with this is that it often ends up with her drained both emotionally and monetarily (as she does give off an allowance given to her each week). The young 16 year old gives every part of herself and holds nothing back, a willing person, with a big heart. She will often be upset if there's nothing for her to give, often going quiet, and think on whatever it was over and over until she's satisfied that it is truly not meant to happen. Like, if she's broke and can't afford to give. Or if she's emotionally drained and can't help anyone.

Flaws:
Don't Turn Your Eyes || Insecure
The young girl has some problems with her overly-emotional nature, however, and finds herself often taking criticism (even jokingly spoken) very personally. Taking a joke is nigh-on impossible, as half the time, she'll take it as a personal attack. It's hard for her to be social because of this. The several instances in which that this has happened has brought her to tears, and usually ends in Emi running from the room. Even just a lighthearted joke can be misconstrued into something it's not. It doesn't take much. When she was younger, a lot of hardship was endured shortly after the move to the United states, bringing she and her twin into the new schools, and about new people. The fact was that neither twin spoke English, and this made it a bit hard for her to fit in. As such, ridicule did occur, and made the girl feel very awkward about herself, just all over. She doesn't mean to take offense to everything....it's almost natural. She seems to find herself just feeling like something's meant to be offensive, even when it's not meant to be...and it drives her crazy sometimes, knowing that she might be taking it wrong.

The only people to ever have been known to be behind her barrier are her family. Her mother, father, sister, nanny, and grandmother have been the only ones she's never taken offense from, mostly due to the fact that they were there for her throughout the hardship that left her this way. It was why they switched to the prep school later on in life. Getting past this can be tricky, but after maybe a year or two, it can be done.

What Are You Saying? || Overemotional
Emotionally speaking, Emiliana is very much easy to push over the edge. She takes things very seriously, and is the type to often cry. Her emotions are very much 'on her sleeve', worn so that others can always know how she feels. The only true issues with this is that she tends to be very much over-sensitive. The trait in and of itself basically describes how every emotion she feels is taken over the top. It's not hard to make her cry, especially since she tends to take things personally. The fact that her emotions are always obvious makes her a terrible liar as well, as her eyes will always tell you whether or not she's telling the truth, as she can never hide how she really feels. This over-sensitivity stretches into other parts of her life as well. She's often very touchy about her actions, not liking it when someone tells her she's wrong about the way she's doing something. Another word for this trait would be over-dramatic. The way her emotions react to situations are usually tending to flare overboard. For example: when surprised, she'll often scream, even if it's just coming up from behind her, or, when sad, she'll often break down sobbing almost instantly.

There's too many... || Anxious
Lending itself to these traits, and to her own need for hobbies that require all her focus is Emi's tendency towards anxiety. When she was younger, it was not uncommon for her to find herself near hyperventilation when faced with something she was unsure of. Much of her own insecurities can cause this to flare up, however...There are some physical and social stimuli as well. Being touched without warning can startle her badly, and then of course there's just the every day pressures of life and looking out for her twin! After all, Emiliana is consistently feeling pressure that 'oh god what's Luci going to do without me'. This is an extension of her own over-critical nature, her mind sending a spiral about her mind, creating small panic attacks. These also happen when she is threatened.


PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes:
Her eyes are rather beautiful. Wide, with long lashes that flutter down across her cheek, they draw attention to them, especially as she lines them with slight amounts of dark liner. Her left eye is a bright blue, with a soft fleck of brown in the right side, and her right is a pure blue, a stunning mix of colors.

Hair:
Mid-back length hair graces Emi's head, with a deep chocolate brown color. It's razor-cut so that it flutters around her shoulders, and fans across her back. Her bangs sweep to the left, across her brow, and just above her eye, natural coppery highlights sparsely throughout.

Face:
Her face shape is a soft oval, small, delicately boned, with high cheekbones, full lips, and her eyes positioned perfectly. Her nose is slightly more broad, but not enough to be too terribly noticeable.

Clothes:
Emi will tell you right off. She loves the idea of being a princess, and getting to wear girly clothes is her top priority! She takes after her mother in wearing high fashion outfits, generally dresses or skirts, not too fond of wearing pants. Her colors are also generally rather muted, with pretty tones of peach and white, or pink and purple.

Father:: Rafaello Lucio De Fiore - 49
Rafaello is a very powerful business man from Venice. Running a large textile company from home, he is a family man through and through, and that's likely what makes he and his wife such a good team. Both Adelia and Rafaello are people who prioritize their families, and this is what prompted the man to bring his family here. It allows him to work from home, and his family to stay close together.

Emi adores her father, often staying close to him, hiding behind him when she gets too nervous. He treats her like a princess, and it couldn't make her happier to know that she really is in his eyes. Though she's not as close to him as she is to her mother, she knows that she gets a fair bit of his attention, and enjoys what she can get when he's not away on business.

Mother:: Adelia Sierra De Fiore - 46
One thing's for certain. Adelia Sierra De Fiore is not a woman you mess with. She's devoted to her familia, protecting her children, keeping a tidy house, and ensuring that everything is always absolutely perfect. Adelia doesn't do well when even one thing is out of place, and makes sure that nothing ever goes wrong on her watch. If it does, you invoke her wrath. Like her husband, the woman is a devout Catholic, and keeps small reminders of their faith all over the house.

Emiliana is truly Adelia's baby. The little, delicate girl is often found with the woman, learning things like how to sew, or cook. She's very much devoted to being behind the woman's skirts, either helping in the garden or helping around the house. The two share a very close bond, one in which Adelia dedicates a good amount of her time to her daughter. They shop, enjoy tea, and cleaning Luci's half of the room at times. Emi tends to try to bridge the gap between Adelia and Luciana...but...

Sister:: Luciana Maria De Fiore - 14
Her beloved twin sister, and the one person in the world she'd never leave behind. Since they were young, the two have been inseperable. Emi used to be completely caught up in fairy tales, and Luci would always call her the princess.....and that's when the girl decided to call her Emi's Knight in shining armor. Luciana protects the far too delicate girl, keeps Emi safe from herself and others. They honestly couldn't be closer.

Emi will never go anywhere unless she knows where Luci is. The two are connected deeply, and Emi is very reliant on her sister. The elder is not only her protector, but the one that Emiliana will go to when hurt or scared. Any side of Emi, Luci has seen, because she is the person that the girl trusts the most....always.

Grandmother (Paternal) :: Celestina Rachele De Fiore - 72
A devout catholic, Celestina is the matron of the household. Her very nature is control, mostly of her son, and she and Adelia are slightly at odds in the household. Celestina is the woman that even at 72 can walk into a room and command respect. She's very serious and cool-natured, though to her son or granddaughters is warm, but this is likely to do with the fact that they are direct family. Celestina doesn't quite feel that Adelia has earned her place in the familia yet.

Emi has nothing but respect for the elder woman, and treats her as a Matron, bowing her head, and doing as she's told. She enjoys the fact that her grandmother is very warm with them, often treating them with special gifts and candy, but is all too aware that the woman doesn't like her mother. This doesn't sit well with Emi...but this is her grandmother.....so she is very careful to remember that you must always respect your elders.

Nanny:: Carmelita Teresa Ruiz-Morales - 54.
Selected as the girls' nanny while they were still infants, Carmelita has been around for so long that she is unofficially a part of the family. She suprvises the girls' schoolwork and ensures that they get to any planned activities they have. She also tends to fuss and meddle, much like an aunt who lives with the family except she is paid for her time. A devout Catholic,she has ensured that the girls say their prayers and observe all of the proper holidays, and attempts to serve as a mediator between Adelia and Celestina.

The nanny never meant as much to the girl as she did to her sister. Emi knew that Carmelita wasn't quite right in the family from her young age, but would calmly deal with it, taking it for what it was. She seeks out the woman for counseling if she has something she doesn't understand, and sometimes when she's worried...but most of the time, the young girl will be with her sister.
