Alright, as a new forummer, what is it that I need to do in order to get started? I've browsed the forum looking for a starting point to it, in order to try and figure out how to jump in properly, but to no avail.
I am assuming I need to make a meister profile. Or do I need to start by picking a race?
For example, do I choose which school I want to go to, and then decide if I want to be a witch, meister, or weapon?
The current activity level makes me think DWMA would be more fun, but I was actually thinking of joining DWA.
What do you suggest I do for my first character?
Races don't matter so much as classes.
Though I suppose that's a trivial issue.
I take it you want a character that can
be easily integrated into the most active
setting here, which is why you're taking
care in crafting a character. But, rather
than do that, what if you did the opposite?
Design your character and then fit your
world around it.
Like, when I was making my first char.
all I did was go through the skeleton
and mash in some random choices for
where he went to school and all that.
Then I had a bio that took me, admittedly,
a couple drafts to get anywhere close
to right that was sort of, how should I
say, not important as far as his daily
interactions would be concerned. Like,
I had an origin story for his personality
and an end goal that is, more likely
than not, unattainable, and blamo, a
character that can do whatever it wants
and get hella active. Now, whether or
not you pick the right school might not
matter in the grand scheme of things
because of how things tend to shift
around here. Sure, Shibusen's hot
right now, but as soon as the arc's
over I'm predicting a massive upswing
in DMA activity. That said, I'm a
huge butterfly effect geek, and will
say that there's no reason your char.
can't be the catalyst for such a shift.
