DUDE, WHERE'S THE BUS? when worlds collide a little too literally
Overview
MAY 03 2015 A school bus full of high school students and a smattering of faculty disappeared while returning to Lafayette High School. Part of the wreckage was found – the front half of the bus was lying in a ditch off the interstate, metal mangled. However, not a soul was to be seen, not even a drop of blood or any footprints. Bad weather was determined to be the main cause of the crash as there was a heavy thunderstorm that evening, but the search for the survivors continues.
ERROR: TIME UNKNOWN Several dozen humans appear along the south beach of the Lady’s Light as dusk settles in. The remnants of a gaudily decorated metallic chariot are strewn about in what was presumably one a carefully curated flower garden. On the other side of the small peninsula, about a half mile away, on a rockier beach, is a tall white lighthouse with stucco cracked from where the chariot bounced off it during its descent. A half dozen young ladies in matching white robes are being shooed inside the lighthouse by a monstrously tall four-armed knight.
All is quiet for several minutes, until a shadow stirs in the water. A long serpentine figure is weaving through the waves, periodically lifting its finned visage above the frothy caps. It curiously regards the carnage and the visitors with glassy red eyes and lowers its head a couple meters to get a better look at the humans. Translucent blue and green fins reflect the lowering sun.

Profiles
Everyone’s first character must be one of the victims of the bus crash. They should (though you don’t have to do this) have also spontaneously developed some sort of magical power or ability. What that ability is, is up to you.
After you have made one character and have posted with them a couple time, you will be allowed to make a second character, who can either be another student, or a denizen of this world.
Please send your character's profile to me in a PM title "In the Parking Lot".
Everything on the profile form is required, unless otherwise stated.

Debra Shipley
Character Name Debra Shipley
Gender Female
Age Sixteen
Grade 10 (Sophomore)
Personality At one time, Debra had been a cheerful and outgoing young woman, but at the age of fourteen she had completely changed practically overnight, becoming a reclusive, bitter, and hateful person who was rebelling against everything that she had believed in before, and against her paternal grandmother in particular, who is now Debra's legal guardian. Her apparent interests in witchcraft and Satanism are a form of her rebellion, but to be perfectly honest, it's just for show. She has no friends to speak of because she believes that friends are a waste of time.
Appearance Debra is tall and slender for a girl her age. Her hair used to be a chestnut brown and frequently braided into a pony tail, but now she keeps her hair dyed a raven black and hanging loose. She uses a type of make-up to turn her face and neck a deathly white, which makes her thick black mascara, purple eye shadow, and black lipstick stand out even more, and she uses black fingernail polish. Debra wears black clothes all of the time, with a heavy preference for a particular black dress that she has owned since the age of fourteen. Her ensemble is completed by a necklace with a large black inverted pentagram and matching earrings. Debra calls it her 'Goth look', while her grandmother calls it ugly and potentially Satanic. Debra Shipley
Power Debra can create a poison that's the venom of a snake with an element of magic that will slowly drain the life of the victim while the poison is in effect. This poison can be produced in the form of a poisonous cloud that will choke the victim or tiny droplets that Debra can fling at a target, and the blades of weapons can be coated with the poison for additional injury. This poison isn't very strong right now, but enough of it will cause serious harm to the target. With time and practice, Debra will be able to make a poison that is very deadly to most living creatures. For now, she'll have to be happy with killing off small birds and rodents.

Sharar
Character Name Sharar Rahab
Gender Ostensibly female
Age Appears to be somewhere in her thirties, but has been walking around for much longer than that
Occupation Guard of the shrine of Lady’s Light
Personality Sharer has a temper like Krakatoa, explosive and scorching and with a fallout that lasts for a very long time. It’s kept under wrap, but it’s always there, brimming at the surface, waiting for a moment of weakness. To control her horrible temper, Sharar makes concerted efforts to meditate every morning, and keeps a singular focus on her duties as a guard. Anything else – such as ambitions, relationships, and the like – falls by the wayside.
Appearance Sharar is most decidedly not human. She is a literal monster – almost eight feet tall, her body rough and scarred from a lifetime of brutal combat. Her skin is dark as the night, with a purple tone, and her mane of hair is wild and curly and just as dark. Her eyes have pitch black schlera, but her irises gleam a reddish-pin. With a pair of horns, a long thick tail, and an extra pair of arms, it wouldn’t be a stretch to assume she was an evil demon. [x]
Power She has immense strength and fortitude, and is a formidable opponent. Outside of that, she does not have outstanding magical prowess.
Played by welian
Omazige
Character Name Omazige
Gender Male.
Age Lost count.
Occupation Guardian of the Lady
Personality A towering giant with a humble soul. He COULD flatten everyone around him, but it gets boring after awhile. Just don't threaten who he protects; you won't live to regret it..
Appearance Standing over ten feet, Omazige is more comparable to a walking fortress than for what he is; a demon of terrifying power and brute strength prepared to tear apart and rend his foes. Clad in armor thick enough to withstand great blows, very few have seen under the helmet. Those who have, have sworn to secrecy. Not at Omazige's behest, but because it INFURIATES everyone else. [x]
Power Omazige utilizes his immense strength and near-constant healing factor to not only control any stage of combat he sets foot on, but to demoralize adversaries, calling on their errors in combat- right to their face. Outside of combat, well, a majority of the construction on the surrounding areas are his doing..

Locations
Lady’s Light A small, lush, and oddly uninhabited peninsula that the students and faculty of Lafayette High School woke up on after their bus crashed. The area is tiny, hardly a mile wide, with sandy sloping beached on the west side, and just enough rocks on the east side to protect a lighthouse from sinking into the sand. At the base of the lighthouse appears to be a flower garden that was destroyed by half of a bus falling from the sky, and what seems to be a sort of temple. The buildings are all white stucco with gold trim, and while there are no forests on this peninsula, it has a few palm trees, lots of tall grass, and many flowers. There is a cave at the south beach that may or may not lead anywhere.
Off in the distance, across the water, more lights can be seen…
Seijun A small seaside nation comprised mostly of islands, with a fairly major port on a peninsula that branches off from the mainland country Djighan. Seijun features a tropical climate, with many fruit-bearing trees, wild boars and goats, and relies heavily on fishing, trading, and naval expertise in order to maintain a sense of sovereign power. However, it has relied for ages upon snowy neighbors from the North Sea for additional protection from roving pirates.

S H A R A R
As the afternoon rolled into the evening, and sky deepened in color as the sunlight began to wane, a streak of violently brilliant light shot across the heavens and struck the lighthouse tower. Sharar saw it with her own eyes, a bolt of lightning thrown right at the Lady’s abode – an act of war, she was sure.
And nobody knew war like her.
After all the maidens were safe inside the shrine, the four-armed knight bounded down the beach, an equally massive halberd in hand, leaving massive prints in the damp sand. It got in her greaves and clung to the hem of her armored overskirt, but she would not be deterred.
What she found though, was quite unusual – humans. Well, no. Not that humans were unusual. But these humans were unconscious, and wore strange clothes. They were surely sent here by a foreign force, perhaps to declare war on Seijuin. The young age only further cemented this conclusion in her mind – fresh recruits, sent to a sacred site to distract and offend the Lady while more skilled solders, probably disguised as Djighanian pirates, would be en route to set fire to the capital. Sharar had seen such things before.
The knight crouched down, her upper pair of arms tensely holding her weapon and her lower pair crossed in a highly disapproving fashion, as she stared down at the unconscious bodies of the teenagers. Around them, the waves silently lapped at the shore, and dunegrass waved in the salty breeze.
The beady red eyes of a serpent in the water observed from afar, before disappearing under the water. The faintest shadow could be seen moving up the shore, toward the lighthouse.

gaia_nitemareleftDebra Shipleygaia_nitemareright Everyone dies. It's just that some die before others.
Debra woke up with a groan. The last thing that she remembered was sitting in the school bus for the return drive from the field trip, and she had been next to some dork of a boy who had kept babbling on and on and had acted like he had never been that close to a girl before. He had asked her something, but she didn't know what because she hadn't been paying attention to him. Debra had responded by giving him the finger, which had gotten him to shut up. And then something had happened. She didn't know what, but she guessed that it had been an automobile accident. Unfortunately it hadn't killed her. The aches and pains that she felt indicated that she was still alive. The strange thing was that she seemed to be lying in some sand. Had she been thrown from the bus? If so, why wasn't she dead or hurt a lot worse than she felt? Debra forced her eyes to open, and sat up with a groan as she took a look around. "What the hell?" she mumbled to herself.
It appeared that she was on a beach, which was very strange because she didn't remember the bus going by any kind of a beach on the way to the field trip. Was it possible that she had died and had gone to some form of the heaven that she used to believe in? That seemed unlikely because if her old beliefs were true, then she should have gone straight to hell. Debra couldn't say that there was anything in her behavior over the past couple years that would have gotten her into heaven. Or maybe she was lying unconscious somewhere and this was a dream. A really intense dream. Debra turned as she continued to look around, and that's when she spotted the four-armed demon that was crouched near her. "Holy s**t!" Debra exclaimed as she tried crawling backwards away from the demon. She was too startled to think about standing up and running. Maybe she had died and gone to hell. If so, hell wasn't quite as dark and fiery as she had expected.
Her eyelids were closed but she felt at peace. The salty aroma filled up her nose and sent her body into deeper rest. The sounds of the waves crashing against each other echoed into her ears. The soft sand that shifted slightly with each breath that rose from her chest. Her dark curls flowed in the wind. This should be peaceful. Why does she feel like something was completely wrong? Slowly, her eyelids open and all she could see is the beautiful crashing waves, she was merely inches from the latest wave. Lucky for her, she didn't get wet but came close to. Sand? Confused, she laid there on her belly for a moment as she started to think. She started to shift slightly and noticed how sore she was. What happened? Why was she here? She needed to recap and see that maybe, thinking about this, she could figure out what just happened.
This morning, she put on a thin semi sheer white dress with black tank top underneath it and blue jean shorts. Along with that, she wore long laced boots that reached slightly below her knees. The only jewelry she had was the necklace she had wore since she was little. It was iron chin with emerald in the middle. It was rough looking, not one of those fancy shiny stones for sure. Had breakfast with her big brother who was also her guardian. Then she went to school where they had to do a field trip. On the way back, Willow was focused on her hands as her friend was asleep at the window. And then... and then.... why can't she remember what happened next? It was then when someone yelled that snapped Willow from her thoughts and had her quickly sat up. It was then, she saw a massive creature by someone. Black skin, horns. Her emerald hues widen, she didn't believe in demons and ... yet there was one in right front of her. Are they in hell? Without thinking, Willow took a handful of sand and threw it at the demon for it's attention so the girl won't be harmed. "Hey!"

Will hurt, he felt like he'd been worked over by an orangutan with a bag of sand. Okay, so maybe he was exaggerating, but he still hurt. He went back over the last things he remembered before he woke up. He remembered being on the bus returning from the field trip to the something-or-other. It was storming, and he could hardly see out the window. Then there was a bright flash, he'd thought it was just lightning, but then the bus had started shaking. Oh geez, he thought to himself, We crashed. I'm probably dead, but then why do I hurt so much?
He opened his eyes. He shut them again.
That can't be right. There couldn't really be a, well, demon, for lack of a better word, could there be? He opened his eyes again, but the thing showed a stubborn refusal to be just a figment of his imagination. Now that he was reasonably certain that he wasn't dead or hallucinating, he took stock of his situation. He was lying on a sandy beach strewn with his apparently unconscious schoolmates and one giant, armored demon. Things looked a little grim, though, to be fair, it hadn't butchered them all in their sleep, so points in its favor.
It was about that time that he noticed movement from some of the other students on the beach, then heard shouts, and saw one of the other students, a senior he thought, throw a handful of sand at the fiend. Not the wisest course of action in his opinion, but he had to admire her gumption. Deciding that he wasn't about to let classmates get killed without at least trying to do something about it, he started moving slowly and carefully towards the back of the creature, hoping he would go unnoticed long enough to get the jump on it if things turn ugly.

Oh, how joyous. They were awake. Sharar blinked, staring at the enemy soldier to respond – a spindly thing, a female with dark hair. Her reaction, to scramble away, told the giant demon all she needed to know – that these were not very well-trained trained soldiers.
The second female woke up, and Sharar very quickly changed her mind. This one had the gall to throw sand at her! It was a pragmatic and effective tactic, however, it did not work as well as the second girl probably intended. The four-armed demon stood up, her thick tail swishing angrily and drawing marks in the sand.
“Surrender!” she commanded them, in a deep, rumbling voice. “You are invading sovereign territory, and you are outmatched.” As she gripped the handle of her halberd, the sun glinted off the blade, and her second pair of arms unfolded into clenched fists.
“This is your only warning.”

Areiya was out of breath she was running and her eyes stung from salty tears. She looked behind to see several dogs barking and growling behind her,"Damn it all I feed one the rest think they can eat too."She held on tightly to her beef jerky, it wasn't any beef jerky it was home made by her mother, which meant it was well seasoned and to literally die for. As she neared the next corner of the block she realized there was no longer a ground but a black hole.
Areiya jumped up bracing herself for the long fall, when she noticed how her nails went through the sand below her. She looked at wiping sleep from her eyes trying to remember why she was on a beach instead of the bus heading back to school. Oh the crash! she remembered before her mind was overtaken by blinding pain. "Ow Ow Ow sand in my eyes, sand in my eyes, it burns!" She quickly shut her eyes blinking quick enough to draw tears to try and ease the pain. After several minutes of blinking she was able to see again and had to focus on keeping her hands away from her eyes. She looked around again trying to remember where the bus had crossed a beach but could not remember any. I am definitely suing when I get home. She stood up stretching before she noticed a few of her classmates, and what looked like some type of demon. Is that a two legged, four armed cow? she asked herself allowing her gut to control her thought process.
She watched as the oldest among them through sand at the Demon and she cringed slightly remembering her earlier bout with sand in her eyes. She was surprised the cow woman could talk. well mooing at her isn't going to help. When she saw the woman wielding what in her mind looked painful, she decided she liked living and slowly tried to ease away looking for a bush or tree to hide behind. Hungry, confused and terrified she ducked down wanting to escape everyone's notice.
gaia_nitemareleftDebra Shipleygaia_nitemareright Everyone dies. It's just that some die before others.
"Thank you, Captain Obvious!" Debra muttered to herself in response to the demon's statement that she and her fellow students were outmatched. Her intial shock had worn off and so her normal 'attitude problem' had made a comeback. Needless to say, the demon was correct in its observation that the students were outmatched. None of them had any weapons. That is to say that none of them were supposed to, according to the law and school regulations. To be honest, Debra was keeping a butterfly knife in the concealed pocket of her black dress, but she wasn't going to pull it out now. Clearly it will be useless against this demon even if it wasn't holding that big spear thingie.
What she wanted to know was what did the demon mean by 'sovereign territory'? As in whose sovereign territory? The demon really didn't look like a representative of the good old US of A. By now Debra had concluded that she had not died and gone to hell. Instead of babbling about 'invading sovereign territory', the demons there will be happy to see new arrivals and will gleefully stab the new arrivals with pitchforks before tossing them into lakes of fire, or so Debra imagined. The fact that it hadn't attacked anyone yet and it's surrender demand were both good signs, and they were fortunate that the demon spoke good English. Debra was assuming that it was speaking English because she could understand what it said.
Surrendering to the demon seemed to be the best option. Fighting it was out of the question, and making a run for it probably wouldn't work either. The demon looked to be very capable of running down anyone who tried to flee. Of course if all of the students ran off in different directions, the demon will not be able to catch them all at once, and so some of them might get away. But assuming that she managed to escape, where would Debra go after that? Besides, she didn't want to risk being the one that the demon chased down and caught. Even though Debra had decided that surrendering was the best thing to do, she didn't see why she had to be the first. Let the older girl and the older boy take the lead.

Her body started to shake as she was trembling with fear and... well. That was just it. Just fear. When the demon suddenly stood up, her eyes widen even more out of fear as she crawled few inches backwards when it shouted for them to surrender. That they are invading a sovereign territory and- wait. What? A sovereign territory? While the creature glared towards the other students that started to wake up and be alert of what was going on, her emerald hues glanced around at the location they are in quickly. This was puzzling. This de-... no. Creature was able to speak the same language they are speaking. They weren't home, that was for sure. Have they landed in some other world? When she noticed a male was going to try in attempt to take down the creature, Willow quickly stood up to get the creature's attention, her hand slightly extended at the male and moved an up and down motion with her fingers as if telling him to stay back. Her body was shaking but she still stood her ground. She felt responsible for those students, if something were to happen....
"W-We didn't mean no harm... w-we are confused.." Willow started as she spoke the truth. Her voice was soft and gentle spoken. She felt a painful burning like sensation at her back but she ignored it. It wasn't the first time she felt it. Doctors couldn't figure it out what it was. It was at that moment where a twin bladed scythe appeared at her hands. The staff that held the blades together were purely white, as there was some rather angelic like designs on it. The rune markings appeared at her back, caused Willow to wince softly in her pain but she was obviously too surprised at what just happened. She jumped but didn't let go of the weapon for a reason, this strange creature before them had one. Otherwise, she would've dropped the weapon right there on the sands. Willow held it rather awkwardly as her feet shift. Well. If they were going to fight, at least Willow could buy the other people some time to run. "Please, just..." Her honey like voice started to trail off. What was she going to ask? Spare them? Take them home? Pinch them to see if they were having one same bizarre dream? Take them to a territory where they aren't 'invading'? Kill her and spare the others? The breeze continued to flow, bringing the smell of the salty sea to everyone. Odd. She never been at a beach and she's most likely going to die there. The thought of death this early made her taste bile at the back of her throat, but she wasn't going to back down.
OoC: If you are curious of the rune markings that appeared on her back or her weapon, it is on her profile.
Gonna quote everyone, please let me know if you did not wish to be quoted
