She had been very grateful for her sister's words. Gwen knew her well, and knew that an alternative educational plan would be needed. After all if she were placed in an ordinary level math class, she would get bored fairly easily. But if placed in a normal literary class, she would not only be bored and irritated, but also extremely behind. The girl and absolutely no interest in the written word apart from what was necessary. Like signs, she was a bit believer in signs. Especially the ones that said "caution" or "danger". In particular, she liked to do the exact opposite of what the signs advised.
Before too long they had arrived at a spaceport. It was her first time being in one, so she was naturally curious. By first sight, it looked busy. People, well...what she assumed were people, were walking at fast paces across the floor. They all looked like they were in a rush, maybe they were? Even niftier were the several robots around, and it reminded her a bit of her sister's inventions. Maybe Gwen could build stuff for spaceports? It was an interesting idea to the young teen, whose only goal in life was exploring. She had no idea what she wanted to be, none at all. She had practically avoided the subject of it, for the entirety of her existence. She would continue to avoid it for as long as she was able. Heck, she might not even live to be old enough for it to matter. Gosh, that was a bit grim? She followed her sister and -- father, through the spaceport to where they needed to be. She certainly was interested in this place they were going, but at the same time she was almost reluctant to go. As curious as she was about the place, she already missed her home. Heck she wouldn't be going if Gwen weren't with her. Father or no father, Gwen always came first in her mind. Gwen was...almost like her mother. She had taken care of her, loved her, and made sure she survived till fifteen. Sounded like a mother to her.
---- I'm so tired of being here Suppressed by all my childish fears Why did you have to leave I wish that you would just leave Your presence still lingers here and it wont leave me alone These wounds wont seem to heal This pain is just to real Theres too much that time cannot erase. ----

From Parallax onward, it was merely the process of scanning through their belongings for anything potentially dangerous without invading their privacy, getting set for the soonest flight, and setting off. It was a large spaceport, numerous ships heading off to different settlements across the galaxy. Unlike the planes of long past, the passengers of the ships often had their own cabins, complete with a bed, bathroom, television, and a few other things. Without hesitation, she picked to share a room with her sister, immediately opening the window to see as they were ascending. As far as waiting would go, the flight was due for about eight hours, which was an amazingly short amount of time from when the first spaceships came to be. “Whoa, a 2492 Galaxy Trekker Aurora with an Umbra engine!” she exclaimed, her hands on the thick glass, peering out at one ship in particular. It didn’t really matter whether or not they were flying first class, she was more interested in gazing out the window and looking at the numerous models of ships that flew by. It was a fancy cabin, looking more like a luxury suite, a relatively large with two beds and an extravagant light design that gave a lovely contrast of neon blue, white, black, and steel. Who would’ve thought that they’d ever see a room so gorgeous?
In about a minute or two, they’d be permitted to explore the public areas of the ship. For first class, they’d have access to a cocktail lounge, gym, spa, and casino accessible to them. In the open locations, there was an arcade, a courtyard with various snack bars, and additional restrooms. “I feel like checking out that spa. I admit that my back’s been killing me since I was looking through the junkyard. Want to come?” Her aching back could’ve seriously used a massage right about then.

Adam Payne ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Adam displayed far less interest in Parallax than his two daughters had. He had yet to realize how new all of this really was to them. For the first hour he had known them the Senator believed his daughters were trying to play his emotions by making everything seem new. It was only now that he began to realize they had not been acting. Going through the terminals leading to the ship had been easy and once Adam's daughters had settled into their rooms, he had Rick and Edd bring in their luggage, and cats. Oh they had so many cats. Adam assigned Rick to guards the door to his daughters' room. Provided they wanted to leave, Rick would escort them around as a silent guardian. Then Adam retired to his own room.
He did not find the small luxuries inside the room awe filled in any capacity, if anything he felt this was a rather standard form of first class. He could complain about his bed's firmness but it could be adjusted. Once inside his room Adam motioned for Edd to stand outside the door and then Adam sat as the desk provided by the room. The Senator made the decision not to work while on the flight. Casting his gaze casually to the window Adam let out a slight sigh. Being a father was going to be a pain and least one Earth he would be able to manage the children more effectively.

((When I have some awesome coding for her, i'll post it after, but please... bare with me here.))
Xeribus Arese
For an hour, she had been waiting, watching the people board the ship, many different people, who mostly just shied away from her... of course they would. Who'd bother someone with her looks? Gazing around Parallax Station, the pale woman in the dark clothes, sporting goggles to hide her eyes seemed to be searching.
Seeming to come to a decision, she finally boarded the ship, dropping her bag in the first class room that was paid for her. She was here to protect a girl... an Escala. Several years younger then her... probably a lower class-men by the time she graduated. Checking her self, she tucked her hands into her pockets of her jacket, and headed for the dim arcade. That is where she was suppose to meet "Smerf_Lover23".
Stepping into the dark room, she looked around, the games flashing bright colors, each making sounds, trying to pull your attention to each one. Finally stopping at one of the games, she looked it over... it seemed simple enough... take the fake gun, and shoot the targets. Different colored targets get different amounts of points. Paying the machine, she picked up the toy, and started blasting away, easily scoring on all the targets. By the time she was done, she had almost beaten the highest score... just off by two points. "Damn... so close du..." Shoving the plastic back into the holster, she started to look around for her employer again... They said they meet her on this ship, in the arcade...

“Not bad, but you still haven’t beaten my high score,” said an unfamiliar voice, which was revealed to be some girl with white hair and a slim figure—making it relatively obvious what she was. While she looked like an adolescent, especially only standing at 4’ 9”, which was average for her race, she classified as an adult. In her left hand was a raspberry smoothie, a holographic display on her bracer. Her right hand, more specifically her fingers, were typing away on the keyboard. It was a Holobracer from Cadmus Enterprises—expensive, useful, and honestly nothing more than a glorified wrist-phone—she was likely the employer. Aside from the technology, the holographic screen, when read backwards, was the portfolio for the bounty hunter in the network. “I imagined you a lot taller. Anyways, guess who?” Her tone and overall demeanor made it clear she was of the Stratos Lunar Colony’s youths. In other words, though she maintained the potential to be brilliant like others of her race, she chose to be reckless and adventurous instead. “Name’s Minesmé, and I’m your employer, in case you didn’t figure that out,” she said, forming a wide smile. Minesmé was likely to get into a bunch of trouble, so a bodyguard was a must. Young, adventurous, troublesome as ever—it was all in her unwritten portfolio.

Her head snapped around, to look at the Escala who approached her. When the girl, Minesme, finished speaking, She simply shrugged off the comment, "I vans't going fur ze high score... I vas just vasting time til you arrived." She murmured, and shoved her hands into her pockets, watching the woman, "And vhat did you expect? I'm 'alv Escala." She shrugged. She was a few inches taller, and much thicker then the pure Escala in front of her, but hey.. she didn't choose her genetics. "You are ze only von whos spoken to me... it vas my first guess who you vere."
Adjusting her dark goggles, she looked around, "... Interesting place du choose, du meet up vith a body guard." She murmured quietly, but just shrugged, "Vhat ever, as long as I get paid in the end."

Minesmé cringed at the comment regarding the game—it took like five minutes to hack it to get her that far, which mentally took her forever because she was so impatient. “How are you so tall? I feel like a midget around humans, now my own people too?” Minesmé was not from the home world, but she recognized the accent that came when learning English, so it was safe to assume her bodyguard was native. Her lack of education also meant that she wasn’t fully aware of what the ideal features were aside from the hair and skin, so the woman before her, at least with goggles on, looked relatively like her vague view of their race. It was the height that made it seem unusual, seeing as they were generally like skinny, little elves as far as height went. While she thought the goggles were weird indoors, she didn’t think it too unusual to comment about them.

"You are ze normal height of Escala people. My height comes from my sperm donors genetics. I'm 'alv Escala.. and 'alv Suldari." Arese said, and took her goggles off, tucking them on the top of her head, revealing the markings on her cheek bones, and her black, fathomless eyes. "I kept ze goggles on, juzt in case you didn't zee ze only picture of me vithout zem." Tucking her hands back into her pockets, she looked at the girl, and asked, softly, "Do you ztill vant me az your boudy guard? It's not to late to change your mind. I have no raging need to fight... Though, I shall never back down from one. I will be of no danger to you, if you decide to keep me."

It was a very humble thing what the woman just said, but alas her mind was too immature to come up with a straightforward response. Instead she giggled like a little elf and said, “You said sperm donor…” It was even funnier because she talked funny. When Minesmé realized she wasn’t talking sense and sounding like a child, she shook her head to wake herself up. Seeing as she said sperm donor, the part that wasn’t their mutual race was of the father. “Are you nuts? You sound so badass. Does that mean you’re super smart and super strong?” Her imagination had the best of her, imagining her as having all the awesome skills of both races. “What’s your name? I’m Minesmé—wait, you already knew that.” Minesmé liked saying her name because it was her chosen name.

Arese just sighed, she was always asked that when someone found out what she was,"No... I am not az amazing az you zink I am, Minesmé. Everybody asks that, and I disappoint zem all. I'll put it zimply... vat you zink I am is a 'Double breed', Von who has both the fullest potential of ze best genes of both parents.. Vith me, zat is not true. I am an 'alv breed... Ve all know zat ze Suldari 'ave thicker bones, Stronger skin and muscles, and more durable organs, and a 'ealing factor of a sort... My body is not as thick, or durable, my muscles not as strong, and I 'ave no healing factor, but vat I lack in brawn, I make up in brain power... Zo, I ranked last in my clasz ven I was still a young adult. Zo, you zee, Minesmé... I'm nozing special." Taking a breath, she looked the girl over, "My name is Aresé." Noting the girl's childish behaviors, she decided not to give the girl the option to call her whatever she wished.

“I don’t know; how many badass hybrids are there for hire?” As far as she could tell, there were no others, but that’s probably because the recruitment catalog was too damn long and she just happened to spot Aresé there with satisfactory success under her gun. “Anyways, just so you know what we’re headed for—we’re going to Bostrom to meet up with this one guy from Stratos that will take me on amazing adventure!” she said excitedly. “And since you’re coming with me, I’ve got one less thing to worry about, right? You know what that means? Adventure!”

Not like it happen ven i'm around, but still..." Aresé just shrugged, and lent against one of the games, wishing she could light one of her ciggerettes, "Until you release me, conzider me your zecond zhadow." Looking around the arcade, the woman raised an eyebrow, "... I've never been in a room dedicated to video games before... Let alone played many of zem. Zeeing all these machines dedicated to nozing but video games...It iz... veird."

“Captain Zedekiah Shiloh of the Duchess?” Zedekiah was a famous explorer who ventured out to the unmapped sections of their galaxy; his findings were on television relatively often, a celebrity of sorts. In the Republic he had a flawless reputation, though he couldn’t say the same beyond the Parallel. “And wow! Never? You ought to see my basement then,” she said. Minesmé wasn’t kidding about her basement; it was like a game shrine, just a perk of having the house to herself.
