I was wondering what everyone was using. Personally I use Kecha Wacha because sweg and I really didn't want to go through the motions of plate farming again.

I'm using the Tetsukabra armor because I wanted a bit more defence, but I'll probably swap back to the Great Jaggi armor cause I like the Sharpener skill

Arzuros. I want that spd gather, gluttony.
I was going to go for Velo, but early game atk and def boosts from armor skills mean nothing, especially since you're capped at what you can farm for at the beginning.
You mostly want something that'll benefit you throughout the fight, rather than statistical bonuses.

Kecha Wacha was my first set I moved to from the starter.
I loved it, made me feel like Wukong from League of Legends with the Insect Glaive!
I surprisingly got my first Rathian Plate on the second Rathian fight off her tail.
I got my second plate on the first Rathian+Rathalos fight from the rewards screen.
Rathalos off second Rathalos Capture reward screen.
So my set for Rathian & Rathalos armor has for the first time in MH history, was stupid easy..

i've finally moved from the Derring Armor, I liked it a lot but once I started doing some Gathering Hall missions, I realized I needed to pull my weight so I made the quickest set of Kecha Wacha. I don't feel like an HR1 hunter anymore even though I am...need that def though!
I'm really loving this game though...

I moved from Derring/Leather (for full gathering bonuses) to Tetsucabra, and now I have Narjala.
Tetsucabra is a really great, very easy to obtain set for beginners. Tetsucabra skills give increased health and defense, giving it almost the dependability of higher ranking regular armors with no investment. Not to mention he's not very tough to kill, his pattern is relatively simple, he doesn't move from place to place as much as Kecha, and he is very susceptible to mounting in the areas he hangs out in.

Went from Jaggi -> Rathalos -> Gravios U -> Regios X -> A mix of Regios and Diablos which gives some amazing gunner skills.

I worked hard and got the centaur armor. I use dual swords the vast majority of the time so the increased sharpness and speed sharpening are almost essential.
