With Houndour knocked out Simon left the tower to head into Icirrus City where he healed his entire team up. Taking a seat he looked up the stats on this city's gym, he was mistaken on the name of the leader having called him Bryce when it was Brycen. Apparently he was a former actor and because of that Simon wondered if he knew Diantha who was a famous actress from Kalos.

According to the message boards Brycen's team consisted of level seventy ice Pokemon. Not even could his Greninja handle a team like that and his strongest fire type was only in her forties, the Pyroar that was resting at his PC. After returning to Dragonspiral Town to catch the two Pokemon he wanted from there he would just travel to another area to train and to catch more Pokemon.

Opening his badge case Simon counted the badges within, from Unova he was at six so far. That meant he couldn't control Dusknoir in battle and one more level and he couldn't control Golurk in battle either. The entire reason he wanted to get to Skyla was to be able to use his ghost Pokemon again only to not have it work out. That meant he would have to strive to collect them all again. Sadly he'd get to that point where he would have to possibly start all over again in a new region if his team got too powerful. With the fire Pokemon now getting stronger maybe that meant that he could try again against Valerie with Houndour and the other Poison Pokemon to beat her.

Returning to the city Simon went to the Pokecenter in order to heal up and look at the Pokemon in the area. Healing his team up just because he sat in one of the booths, Combusken would only learn fire moves when she evolved so she would need more training as well. Braixen was more of a psychic fire type with the emphasis on psychic over fire.

As he was searching for places to travel an excited young woman ran into the Pokecenter asking for Nurse Joy to heal her Pokemon up. She was loud so Simon couldn't help but hear that she was excited that she won the Freeze Badge. Once they were healed she sent out her champion so that Joy could see that her team was led by, "Simisear the ember Pokemon. When it gets excited, embers rise from its head and tail and it gets hot. Arriving in the city Simon felt that surge of excitement he always felt when taking on a gym. Returning Noivern for now until it was his turn Simon removed his jacket from his pack. He did this because he had learned that Brycen, like all gyms, decorated his gym like his type. However this was because he had literally made his gym out of ice. Walking into the gym he recognized Brycen because he was wearing the same costume he wore in his last movie. "My name is Simon Davis and I would like to challenge you for your badge." The man in blue smiled and came down to the arena. "I accept good sir and I hope we have a spectacular battle." Swallowing hard Simon nodded as the referee came out and raised a flag. "Battle Begin!"

He figured the opponent would most likely send a fire type out, given it was well known what he specialized in. Which meant he likely wouldn't have any type advantages, but he could get at least some damage done here.

Like any actor doing a performance Brycen threw his Pokeball high into the air, underhanded, as the ball bursts open revealing, "Vanillish the icy snow Pokemon. They cool down the surrounding air and create ice particles, which they use to freeze their foes." Readying himself Simon threw out his own Pokeball revealing Houndoom who howled, not to lower attack but to possibly scare Brycen and Vanillish. "Go ahead and start the battle with a flamethrower!" Simon called out as Houndoom breathed out the waves of flames.

By the way, it might be good to practice using the system and stuff by doing the calculations for your attacks as we go, and then comparing them to how I do them o ~o To kinda see how they match up and such. Just a suggestion, to maybe make future battles easier...

This was it, knowing that fire would be best Simon had brought Houndoom but also knowing that a lot of the ice Pokemon were part water as well he had Bisharp. Once Walrein came out Simon returned Houndoom and sent out Bisharp. "Start the round off with metal sound."The blades came out of both sides of Bisharp's hands as he rubbed them together making an awful, high pitched sound lowering Walrein's special defense 2 stages.

After Vanillish had fainted and Brycen sent out Walrein, he didn't regret using Super Fang against the Bisharp that was sent out in response. He did, however, decide to change tactics, albeit only slightly. "Alright Walrein, let's follow up with a yawn!" he instructed. The pokemon before him stretched its maw open wide, yawning loudly and then closing its mouth, looking tiredly across the battle field at its opponent, tail hitting the ground lazily.
