Name: Ava Marie Duhamel Nickname: Age: 16 Birthday: March 2, 1999 Sign: Pisces Gemstone: Aquamarine Blood Type: AB Fav. Food: She has a love for almost all types of pasta's however her favorite is a toss up between portabello ravioli or mango shrimp pasta. Hated Food: Anything bitter which includes most teas School: Crystal Academy - Her family is not rich, rather she got in on a scholarship. Hobbies: Her hobbies are in part influenced by Chromesthesia which is a Sound -Sight Synesthesia. Please read here for more details. Also, please watch this for a visual. Art (mix media and digital)The majority of her art is traditional media which is then often times touched up when she posts them online. Every so often, in the winter months when going outside isn't an option, she does practice digital art with her Intuos tablet and laptop. Her art is a bit unique in the way that it seems overly saturated with color splashes and lots of movement, it has a sort of life to it. When asked how she chooses her colors and why things seem so lit up her response is often vague because it is difficult for her to explain that she is simply drawing what she sees. Her love of mixed media is what often prompts her to taking several different electives or after school classes that allow her to explore new techniques with watercolor, acrylic, guache, and oil paints. Music (piano and violin) Ava started playing the piano when she was four almost five years old when she began showing interest in her grandma's upright piano. Upon her passing, when Ava was about eight years old, she had left the beautiful instrument to her in hopes she would continue to play beautiful music. By the time she reached the fifth grade, when the school curriculum required students to join either band or orchestra, Ava followed in her mothers footsteps and picked up the violin. Since then she has continued to take lessons, participate in recitals, joined the Destiny City Youth Symphony Orchestra, and even helped out the drama class on a few occasions for their musicals. New Books Rarely will you ever find Ava in a library or used book store. There is something about getting something brand new, right off the shelf that is so alluring to her that she is willing to save her allowance to buy a new book instead of borrowing one or getting a 'like new' copy at a discount. Creases on the cover of books are a bit annoying especially ones that have artwork that wraps around the front and the back and so she takes meticulous care of the condition of the small collection she has. With this being the case, Ava frequently visits the small family owned bookstore cafe's or larger chain stores like Barnes & Nobel's or Boarders when looking for something new to read. Virtues:A shoulder or and ear She is great for moral support and as cliche as it is, she is a good listener. If there is ever anyone that needs to vent out a frustration or has some pent up feelings they need to let out, she is more than willing to listen and either be a lending ear or a shoulder to cry on. As a rule of thumb she generally does not offer advice unless asked for unless someone is really worked up and she is trying to help them calm down. Under Lock and Key Your secrets are safe with Ava, unless she feels you are a threat to yourself or someone else, she will not tell anyone something you ask her not to. Much like doctor patient confidentiality it really is nobody else business other than your own. If an outside party is curious about what is going on they can speak to the individual directly because it really isn't her place to say. Flaws: Asocial : Because of the synesthesia she avidly avoids having to partake in any large group activities (house parties, concerts where the crowd is super loud etc) as the many bursts of color in a packed area at one time tend to be a bit overwhelming. Every day sounds such as birds chirping, cars going by, people walking along the street don't bother her and she can normally ignore those sounds. However she does not ever tell anyone that is the reason as she does not want to be perceived as a freak so she plays it off as 'I'm too busy' to do that sort of thing or 'just not into that sort of thing'. Guarded: Though she has no problem listening to others don't expect her to open up to anyone. After being an ear for everyone around her for so long she is well aware of the weight and the pressure it puts on a person and will not do that to others. Feel free to ask her how her day was but don't expect her to go into oh woe is me detail about any of it and don't bother trying to prod her about how she's feeling or to get her to divulge any personal stories. The only exception to this is if she trusts you 100% and believe me you'll work damn hard for that trust. PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION Eyes: Soft pale yellow Hair: Light teal / wintermint colorChanging to a pinkish tone... hair that reaches her lower back. For the bangs please see the avatar below. Typically worn down or in a simple style; braid, pony tail, or bun. Nothing too over the top unless the occasion calls for it. Face: F1 template Clothes:Simple, no name brands. Prefers clothes that have a pattern or solid color as opposed to logos, symbols, or t-shirts.

QuestSenshi: Sailor Kochab, Senshi of Sound Challenge: "I shall enjoy the sound of your defeat " Fuku Colour: Main Color: Wintermint Secondary Color: pale yellow Fuku: Eternal outfit Attacks: The instrument Kochab summons looks like a treble clef which has vertical strings running through it. At first glance it looks like it is a unique harp however it is played like a violin. here Like this but smaller and different style. NOTE: Her instrument is not a physical weapon, it is merely ethereal magic in the shape of what is linked above. - she cannot hit you with it - she cannot let it go Sailor Scout Attack: Low Pitch Part 1: The summon Holding her hands out in front of her, Sailor Kochab grasps a hold of of the above mentioned instrument and bow. She then brings the instrument up as if she is about to play a violin and pulls the bow along the longest string which causes what looks like one gold ring about 3' diameter to form around her. Once done playing the note the instrument disappears and the single ring around her splits into 4 rings that move away from her in different directions (typically they fan out towards an individual if there is a single enemy, or if there are multiple people the rings will go one in front, one left, one right, and one behind her) up to 10' away from her. At this point no sound can be heard, no sound comes from the instrument. Part 2: The attack Rings: Quantity four 3'D rings, hover 1' off the ground, move at the rate of a jog, and does no damage if touched. Effect: Unless you touch them or try to jump over them, no sound is heard. If you do touch them they latch onto you for 15 seconds and emit a loud yet low pitch constant sound which disorients the opponent and givings the sensation of a great weight upon them. After effect: Opponents ears ringing lasts 10 seconds after the ring disappears to account for the lingering after sound a person hears. Range: 10' Max people affected: 2 Uses: 3 times Video Visual 50 second mark Don't run through the ring go around it. Super Sailor Scout Attack: High Pitch Part 1: The summon Holding her hands out in front of her, Sailor Kochab grasps a hold of of the above mentioned instrument and bow. She then brings the instrument up as if she is about to play a violin and pulls the bow along the shortest string which causes what looks like one gold ring about 3' diameter to form around her. Part 2: The attack Rings: Quantity four 3'D rings, hover 3' off the ground, move at the rate of a super senshi running, and does no damage if touched. Effect: Unless you touch them or try to jump over them, no sound is heard. If you do touch them they latch onto you for 15 seconds and emit a loud yet high pitch constant sound giving the sensation of vertigo, dizziness and no doubt a nice size headache. After effect: Opponents ears ringing lasts 10 seconds after the ring disappears to account for the lingering after sound a person hears. Range: 10' Max people affected: 4 Uses: 3 times Video Visual 50 second mark Don't run through the ring go around it. Eternal Sailor Attack: Sound Wave Erruption Sailor Kochab manipulates the sound waves in the near vicinity gathering them into a sound pressure orb in the palm of her hand. She then takes the orb and tosses it at the ground up to 15’ away from her. Once it disappears beneath the surface it begins emitting sound waves causing the area above it to ripple; it is like standing on top of a really big speaker and where the effects of her attack will be heard to its full effect. Outside the AOE it is similar to standing next to someone listening to music too loud with their headphones; muffled sounds. In a 10’ radius from where the orb landed the ground begins to ripple in slow waves as a very deep sound pulsates beneath opponents causing the same effect as her base attack (Low Pitch: Disorienting sound that feels like a great weight is upon them.) and gradually picks up pace as the pitch increases resulting in the wave frequency to become more intense and the effects transition to those of her super attack (High Pitch: Constant sound giving the sensation of vertigo, dizziness, and a nice size headache.) All this happens within 20 seconds. Sound waves rippling beneath the ground makes it hard for people to remain upright or keep from stumbling. If there is anything glass in the AOE by the time the pitch reaches the highest frequency, it will shatter. Ears ring for 10 seconds after the ground becomes still again. Useable 3 times

Hey there Shan! I have a couple of concerns with Kochab that need to be addressed, before I can drop a stamp! The first thing that is bothering me is the ‘weapon’ that Kochab ‘summons’ to do her attacks. Senshi are not permitted weapons, and yes they can have a visual basis for their magic, or their magic can be formed to look like something or cause something to appear, what you have written is that this violinharp is actually what causes her magic to come into existence, and that is much more of a trait suited to knights. The second thing that I am not quite sure about her attacks is, when you have the fact that she sees the faeries, but you make it a point that the attack makes no sound unless it hits someone. Her condition should only be affected when there is actual sound coming from something, correct? So why would she be seeing something nobody else can when there is no sound coming from something. =< In her eternal attack, you have that her ‘spell’ lasts for 60 seconds, and again, senshi don’t have spells, they have magic which can have effects that linger, but the actual ‘casting’ of the magic does not, and should not last for as long as the effects. Honestly, I think it would be a lot easier to portray this character a knight, perhaps a knight of Neptune, since they are the musically inclined ones! Your attacks aren’t bad, but they just don’t read to me as senshi attacks as they are now! Please quote me with any changes you have, and we’ll try to get her stamped! <3

Hello Orange, Please see below for my responses. There was a lot to address so I formatted it in a way to minimize confusion. Quote: It is clear I had missed an important detail that I have been careful about noting in the past. Kochab does NOT have a weapon it is ethereal magic much like my quest for Pherkad, senshi of fans; and Hatsya senshi of swords. It is a visual representation of an object that if she lets go the magic will end prematurely. I have edited this information in above the attacks where I have visuals of the instrument The second thing that I am not quite sure about her attacks is, when you have the fact that she sees the faeries, but you make it a point that the attack makes no sound unless it hits someone. Her condition should only be affected when there is actual sound coming from something, correct? So why would she be seeing something nobody else can when there is no sound coming from something. =<Quote: She is standing at the epicenter of the rings when the magic is cast she would hear a sound so long as the rings were around her and for the 1.5' as they started to move away from her; she just wouldn't be affected by her own magic. The main reason for me putting it there was a kick back to past life importance that would be fleshed out upon obtaining her. In her eternal attack, you have that her ‘spell’ lasts for 60 seconds, and again, senshi don’t have spells, they have magic which can have effects that linger, but the actual ‘casting’ of the magic does not, and should not last for as long as the effects. Quote: So long as she is performing the motions of "playing" the instrument for the time allocated for the attack, the attack remains. Interrupting her would end it prematurely or simply out range it. It is an attack that requires concentration similar to Acrucis' hands which must be held in prayer at eternal, or like Pherkad who must hold her fan with the tip pointed upward while she rotates hand in a circular motion clockwise to make the whirlwinds continue to encircle her. I have changed spell to magic per your request. Honestly, I think it would be a lot easier to portray this character a knight, perhaps a knight of Neptune, since they are the musically inclined ones! Your attacks aren’t bad, but they just don’t read to me as senshi attacks as they are now!Quote: Although I appreciate the suggestion, a Neptune knight for Ava is not an option for me. Water has nothing to do with her as a civilian and I don't particularly enjoy playing that particular faction unless I'm getting a character older than 21 since senshi are not allowed to awaken at that point.

Okay! So I have no issue with her making the ethereal violinharp, it is just the showy part of her magic, and I get that, but there is a very big issue for me in the channeling aspect of her magic. I am sorry if you have other quests that you used this for and it was approved, but this is not how senshi magic is supposed to be. Senshi are supposed to do a wiggle dance and summon some hopping frogs to surround their opponents for thirty seconds or something akin to that, but they don’t have to be, and shouldn’t be wiggle dancing the entire time. I also understand that you may want the faeries to be a kickback to her past life, but since you are making her a corrupt, she should have no connections to that past life regardless of her condition, so I am sorry but this is not going to be able to be a thing that she alone can see. Even if she was a normal senshi, her condition may allow to see bursts of color, but flying faeries have nothing to do with sound and I feel that it only serves to single her out as a senshi who gets to see more from their attacks and have a connection to their past without going to her homeworld. This is what past life memories are for, not attacks, and if she is a corrupted, she will not be getting past life memories unless she purifies. =< I am sorry, but as the attacks are written now, I can not stamp them. They do not read as senshi attacks to me. Again, please quote me with your changes!

Also something to note; there IS a senshi of noise that may conflict with this. In fact they are almost the same thing, really?

Tonberry Queen X Also something to note; there IS a senshi of noise that may conflict with this. In fact they are almost the same thing, really? Noise is a subcategory/ specific kind of sound. Just as frost flowers is a specific kind of frost, or static (approved and obtained first) is a subcategory of electricity. Similarly how we have rivers and rapids (which are a specific portion of a river). Sound encompass the full spectrum of volume, frequencies, wavelength, wave number, amplitude, sound pressure & intensity, speed of sound, and direction; where as noise is a perception of sound, specifically an unwanted sound such as construction workers, dogs barking, kids screaming, nails on a chalkboard, etc . Therefore I must disagree that they are not the same thing; noise does not exist with out there first being sound.

Hello Orange, Sorry for not replying sooner. I wanted to do a bit of research before replying. I have been spending time familiarizing myself with current rules and guidelines regarding senshi attacks and had found a lack of information. Therefore myself and a few others began reading recently approved profiles to get an idea of allowable mechanics. As it stands, her original attack allows her movement around a battlefield which is highly possible if you have ever seen Lindsey Sterling (Dub Step Violinist known for dancing as she plays). Logically, having her stop plucking strings would then cause the sound waves to cease resonating from her. Unlike the recently approved Sailor Canterbury , senshi of carts, who summons a physical object that she can then hit people with, Kochab’s instrument is just as you put it: a showy part of her magic that disappears once she is finished. It cannot be used to strike someone with. Since it does appear that what I have is a firm no-go on the attacks as they stand, I took the liberty to create three alternate eternal attacks for your review. They were constructed using the scientific properties of sound which include: sound waves, sound pressure, frequency, pitch and volume. I have listed them in order of my preferred preference Option1: (protection + offensive) Quote: Sound Waves (3 part attack) Part 1) Manifest: Sailor Kochab manipulates the sound in the immediate vicinity gathering the sound waves into a barrier of sound pressure which protects her and up to two others that are within arms reach of her. This shield lasts for 30 seconds and can be used twice Part 2) Defense: Melee attacks which land a hit against this barrier cause sound waves to erupt from the outer shell with a booming sound knocking the aggressor backwards. Range attacks cause the same booming sound however, since the aggressor is not in range, it instead throws the attack back in the direction it came. Part 3) Dispell: Upon the completion of her magic attack (or having sustained up to 5 attacks by a 3rd stage character) the sound shield bursts into one big and loud wave of of sound knocking over opponents in a 10’ radius. At bare minimum the opponents would likely have the wind knocked out of them and hear a ringing sound for the next 10 seconds while they try to reorient themselves. Anything beyond that is up to the character owner. Note: This attack takes normal sound waves from everyday sounds and gathers them up in order to build up sound pressure into something more physical. Attempting to break the barrier releases some amounts of this pressure in small bursts of sound waves causing a knock back. Upon breaking it completely, or the duration runs out, all that pressure is released at once. (Like turning on a speaker at a concert when the guitarist plays a chord) Option 2: (offensive + crowd control) Quote: Sound Waves: Sailor Kochab manipulates the sound waves in the near vicinity gathering them into a sound pressure orb in the palm of her hand. She then takes the orb and tosses it at the ground up to 15’ away from her. Once it disappears beneath the surface it begins emitting sound waves causing the area above it to ripple; it is like standing on top of a really big speaker and where the effects of her attack will be heard. In a 10’ radius from where the orb landed the ground begins to ripple in slow waves as a very deep sound pulsates beneath opponents causing the same effect as her base attack (Low Pitch: Disorienting sound that feels like a great weight is upon them.) and gradually picks up pace as both the pitch increases resulting in the wave frequency to become more intense and the effects transition to those of her super attack (High Pitch: Constant sound giving the sensation of vertigo, dizziness, and a nice size headache.) All this happens within 20 seconds. Sound waves rippling beneath the ground makes it hard for people to remain upright or keep from stumbling. If there is anything glass in the AOE by the time the pitch reaches the highest frequency, it will shatter. Ears ring for 10 seconds after the ground becomes still again. Useable 3 times Option 3: (balance (-) opponents (+) allies) Quote: Sound Waves: Sailor Kochab calls the name of her attack summoning her ethereal instrument. Instead of running the bow over a single string she begins playing a string of chords from the highest note to the lowest note and back 5 times (10 seconds). From where she is standing four chains of 1.5’D rings extend out from her 9’ and begin to pinwheel around her at a fairly quick pace (she does not have to remain stationary, like Lindsey Sterling she can move around while playing). Like her previous attacks it is inadvisable for opponents to try and jump over them like a Skip-it as touching or going over the rings will cause it to fixate on an individual. After the 10 seconds is up the remaining rings disappear as does her instruments. The ones encircling their targets begin to produce sound for the next 20 seconds. Opponents: Players may choose which pitch they wish their character to hear (Base or Super attack) Low Pitch: Disorienting sound that feels like a great weight is upon them. High Pitch: Constant sound giving the sensation of vertigo, dizziness, and a nice size headache. Opponents ears ringing lasts 10 seconds after the rings disappear to account for the lingering sound a person hears. Allies: Allies who are encircled by the rings hear an upbeat melody of their choosing (ie. dubstep) This energetic sound grants the allies a boost in energy granting them the use of a previously used attack up to their current level. This attack can be used twice however two full minutes must pass before the same individual can be effected by the rings a second time. Instead of choosing one, please critique them individually so I may pick which one, based on your critique, I’d like to pursue. As previously stated my order of preference is listed above. As for seeing the fae I am well aware that corrupts have no connection to their homeworld. However, my reasoning for seeing them has little to do with a homeworld connection and is based on the following: 1. Her seeing them affects nobody (players or characters) nor do they benefit her in any way. 2. Kochab cannot interact with them or touch them, it is just a perception of the sound emitted from her own attacks just like the wisps of light from everyday occurrences while in civilian form. 3. Magic exists outside the laws of science and so it seems reasonable that the perception of at least her own magic could in theory take another form than just the wisps of light. 4. While homeworld for a corrupt is not feasible, past life and DF meta sub-forums are still an option. So while I am willing to rework her eternal attack so that it fits more in line with the notion of Senshi Magic, I ask that you reconsider your stance on her visual perception of her own magic. The bottom line with the fae is that it only really benefits me in having some fun with RP’s. Edit: I did make one change to her profile by re-inserting her original 3rd hobby (new books) since it does not seem to be uncommon to have 3 hobbies while still having only 2 virtues and flaws.

Shan, It is not that she is moving around while using her magic, it is that she is still channeling her magic from an ethereal item. In the shop, one of the major distinctions magically between Knights and Senshi is that Senshi do not channel their magic from an item. By making her so reliant on her weapon to use this attack, it is reading more as Knight magic to me, and I think it is important that there is a distinction. To use Sailor Canterbury as an example, she is not channeling magic through the cart. Her magic creates a cart that serves as a temporary prison to trap enemies. Sailor Kochab's magic is not creating and manipulating sound, she is creating an instrument that she then must play and channel magic through. Her instrument is not just a showy part of her magic, instead it is absolutely vital to her magic as it is written (if she stops playing, the attack stops). A showy part of her magic would be a unique twist on it that ties into her sphere. Like Canterbury's attack is a mechanism that traps an enemy, the 'showy part' of her magic is that it happens in the form of a Cart, to tie into her sphere, and allows her to cart them around for the duration of the attack. In the rewritten attacks that you have provided, Option 1 is far too close to Sailor Themis’ Eternal attack, and with him having a sphere that is already dangerously close to yours, this is not going to fly. Your second option seems feasible. I am not certain which stage of magic this is for or if this was just written to give me an idea of what you intended to theme attacks off of, but before I can leave proper crit I am going to need to see this written as basic/super/eternal attacks and come back for proper crit/stamp! As for the visual faeries, my answer is still no. No senshi, may have anything from their past life in their attacks. Even if it has no effect on anything what so ever, it is a tie to her past life, which can only be taken from visiting one’s planet or wonder, not from seeing something in their attack, so I am sorry, but this must be removed. Please quote me with your changes.
