Name: Selena Brooks
Nickname: None unless someone gives her one.
Age: 17
Birthday: September 20th
Sign: Virgo
Gemstone: Sapphire
Blood Type: O+
Fav. Food: Angel food cake or cheese cake with chocolate syrup and strawberries.
Hated Food: She doesn't really have any particular food she hates. Her motto is "I'll try it at least twice just don't tell me what it is if it isn't obvious".
School: She currently attends Crystal Academy on a gymnastics scholarship.
Hobbies: Gymnastics: Starting out with the tumble tots program, Selena has been doing gymnastics since she was 5 years old. Her parents never pressured her to being the best instead they taught her to do what she enjoyed, so long as you're having fun keep it up once it's no longer fun find something else. She is an all around gymnast participating in floor, beam, uneven bars, and the vault though she excels at uneven bars and floor. Roughly two years ago she made a mistake on the balance beam while doing a back-flip combo managing to fracture her shin because she didn't get enough air. This has planted a seed of fear in her when doing flips on the beam but she is over coming that little by little.
Going to plays/ dances: From A Mid Summer Nights Dream to The Nutcracker to Wicked, Selena enjoys going to the local theater with friends and family to watch productions of various plays and dances. Though she's not all about getting the best seat up close or on the balcony, she rather goes for the cheap seats and is happy grabbing binoculars. One thing worth noting is she loves to support the local school's drama class/ club and quite enjoys going to the school's renditions of classic plays or their own originals (especially if they are a comedy). Her favorite play to this day was a school musical of Le Miserables.
Baking: Now there is a difference between baking and cooking. Don't even think about asking her to cook for you or she will mentally pie you in the face. However baking is another story entirely. Every time Selena's grandmother would come visit the two of them would commandeer the kitchen and bake everything from banana chocolate chip breakfast bread to brownies and cupcakes. The house always smelled of sweets or fancy bread (zucchini bread, carrot cake, the works). When her grandmother passed away when she was 12, Selena picked up a tradition Tuesday Treats, every Tuesday she goes on a baking spree either for her family, friends, or special occasions doesn't matter but she bakes these treats mostly for others.
Virtues: Encouraging: Selena wants to see others succeed. Growing up with parents who encouraged her to do what she loved and enjoyed she wants to spread that to others. It is like someone who has fallen off their bike and needs help and encouragement to get back on so they can keep going. This is one reason why she has not given up on the balance beam, yes she fell (literally) but she's not going to give up. This is a virtue she takes to the extent of lead by example, if she were to give up without trying why would anyone bother listening to her words of encouragement? She would sound like a 'do as I say not as I do' hypocrite. She is seen more as an adviser and less of a cheerleader, she is not going to stand on the side lines yelling "yeah you can do it woohoo"(unless she is at a sporting event) rather she will be there holding a persons hand and helping them till they're ready to go on without her. Sometimes all a person needs is a little encouragement and a friend to help pick them up to get them going again and Selena's that person.
Focused: Though she can multitask like most women Selena would prefer not to have to split her attention she does her best to completely finish a task before moving on. What this means is that what she is working on has 100% of her effort time and energy and she is least likely to make mistakes. If at all possible she rarely gets deterred however life is unexpected and things happen, you have an appointment to get to/ phone rings and someone needs you now. In those cases she will go take care of whatever it is then come back to what she was working on as soon as possible. One thing she does know is the value of resting your mind, take a mental breather then come back and see things from a new perspective. Though this is not limited to multitasking this also goes towards conversations with others or even school. Whoever is speaking has her undivided attention, for important things such as events, due dates, meetings she promptly writes it in her datebook/ journal so she doesn't forget it.
Organized: Most of the time Selena can be seen carrying around a datebook/ journal to where she keep schedules, appointments, and to-do lists in. It would be strongly advised against moving her book if she were to set it down somewhere. She will flip a room trying to find it (then put everything back where it was or will clean the room entirely if it was messy before once she's found the book). Her room and house are both fairly clean and organized as well, don't go to bed with unclean dishes and clean up your mess entirely once you're done were two rules that were impressed upon her when she was a kid. You will rarely if ever find her in a clutter mess unless she is doing a deep cleaning and dumping out drawers to get rid of things. But this also means if you ask her for something she can tell you exactly where it is (or should be) without having to get up.
Flaws: Oblivious: The biggest downside to being focused is that Selena get's so absorbed in what she's working on / doing that she is quite oblivious to what's going on around her. If she were in the middle of doing something and someone were to try to talk to her or remind her something she may respond with a 'yeah, ok' but then later when confronted why something wasn't done she will be very adamant about 'you never told me that'. Unless she has physically stopped what she is doing and is looking directly at the person, she's not actually paying attention. Other than lack of eye contact, one tell tell sign she's oblivious to what ever you're saying or let alone that you're even there is if she doesn't write anything down.
Rude: Selena was raised by parents who encouraged her but also raised her to be polite and considerate of others. However on the flip side she has low tolerance for those who are not courteous towards others (be it mean remarks, demanding, or inconsiderate of others time or feelings). It would start out with a hard unblinking watchful stare that essentially speaks volumes of I am not amused and you need to stop. She won't say anything initially but if the person just can't take a hint she will snap at them quite viciously. With this being the case Selena is very picky on who she associates with, it is very unlikely she is willing to associate let alone converse with someone who does not meet her moral standards and have a disregard for manners. You would be well advised to say please! Unless you ask nicely and say please, Selena is more likely to stare at you with an expectant look than do what you say. If you're known to not say please ever she will deliberately ignore you. One of the few if only exceptions to this is if there is an emergency happening.
High Expectations Selena has high expectations not only of herself but everyone else. If you're going to do something don't be lazy and half a** it, put effort into what you're doing. It's okay to need help which is where her encouraging nature chimes in, however if she thinks you're not putting in actual effort if she's trying to help you then she will stop and walk away. Also if in a group and she feels like you're not pulling your weight, she'll first confront you about it and try to fix the problem, if things don't get better she has no problem cutting you from the group or just leaving the group herself. Some things she holds to high expectations include, being on time, putting fourth effort, politeness, and being organized.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: Navy blue - teal flecks (see below)
Hair: See my image below for her hair style. The color is suppose to be a blue teal (not a green teal). Her hair reaches to about the middle of her back.
Face: round/ oval somewhere around there.

Senshi: Sailor Pherkad, Senshi of Fans Pherkad is one of the stars in the ursa minor constellation. Pherkad and Kochab are also referred to as the "Guardians of the Pole". Challenge: "I'll blow you away" (I hope it's not taken) Fuku Colour: Main Color: Navy Blue - Teal gradient Secondary Color: Gold or Pale Yellow Fuku: I would like the fuku to be similar to the one I designed on the right. I don't know which phase my current concept would fit best: normal senshi or super senshi. Collar -- Bow -- Bodice -- Sleeves -- Brooch -- Bottoms -- Tiara -- Choker -- Shoes -- Gloves -- Accessories -- One accessory I did not include is each ear has two piercings dangling open fan on a gold chain and above it is a second piercing that is a sapphire stud. Your MAIN COLOUR should dominate. Your SECOND COLOUR should be used for trimming. Attacks: Sailor Scout Attack: Wind Blades Reaching up above her head Sailor Pherkad grasps a hold of a magical partially transparent closed fan bringing it down to in front of her face. With a snap of her wrist the fan opens up, and brings her arm back and with a sweeping motion waving the fan directly at her opponent. The fan disappears once she finishes the sweeping motion. This attack produces three 1' gold glowing crescent shaped blades which are propelled forward at staggered distances by wind with the equivalent speed of someone running. This is a frontal cone effect with a spread of 45 degrees and reaches 10' from Sailor Pherkad. It is possible to dodge the blades but still get brushed by the gust of wind (easier at a distance). The strength of the wind isn't enough to knock a person down (unless they are already off balance) but it can make a person stagger backwards a step. The blades cause the sensation of shallow cuts if they successfully hit an opponent and disappear after contact or when they reach 10' away from her. The lingering sensation lasts for 30 seconds and this attack can be summoned twice. Visual Video: 3:38 mark Super Sailor Scout Attack: Wind Blade Barrage Reaching up above her head Sailor Pherkad grasps a hold of a magical partially transparent closed fan bringing it down to in front of her face. With a snap of her wrist the fan opens up, and brings her arm back and with a sweeping motion waving the fan directly at her opponent. The fan disappears once she finishes the sweeping motion. This attack produces five 1' gold glowing crescent shaped blades which are propelled forward at staggered distances by wind with the equivalent speed of someone on a bike (25 MPH?). This is a frontal cone effect with a spread of 45 degrees and reaches 10' from Sailor Pherkad. It is possible to dodge the blades but still get brushed by the gust of wind (easier at a distance). The strength of the wind can knock a person down if are already off balance or not paying attention, otherwise it will make an opponent stagger backwards a couple steps. The blades cause the sensation of receiving a mid to shallow cut(s) if they successfully hit an opponent and disappear after contact or when they reach 10' away from her. The lingering sensation last for 45 seconds This attack can be summoned once. Visual Video: 3:38 mark Eternal Sailor Attack:Turbulent Whirlwind Encircle Two magical partially transparent closed fans appear on either side of Sailor Pherkad in which she reaches out grasping a hold of both. With a flick of both wrists the fans snap open. She makes two large sweeping motions with each arm creating four (7' T x 3'W) whirlwinds. (see image below for placement / visual of this attack) Once the whirlwinds have been created she closes both fans bringing them together combining them into one fan. With the tip pointed upward she rotates hand in a circular motion clockwise to make the whirlwinds begin encircling her. The speed at which the whirlwinds are encircling her is mid way between her first two attacks (Faster than a run slower then a biker in a hurry) but they are dodge-able if timed right. If an opponent gets touched by the winds of the whirlwinds it will pull them into it. The whirlwinds do no damage but spin the opponent inside it for 10 seconds before tossing them out 5' away from the center where Sailor Pherkad is (this should be far enough away that it wouldn't grab the person again unless they stumbled backwards into it). The dizziness lasts for about 20 seconds. The attack itself lasts for 60 seconds unless interrupted by a direct attack which causes her to stop rotating her fan in which the whirlwinds slow down then fade away. The whirlwinds begin to slow down at the 50 second mark and fully disappear at 60 seconds. Visual of attack: placement of whirlwinds** Note: will discuss with opponents about attacks and whirlwinds before a RP regarding weather or not it would make sense if a whirlwinds could mess up their attack.

Hi Shan! Let’s get going on getting Pherkad stamped!
ON THE CIVILIAN SIDE
Hobbies – these look good! I think it’s really cute that Selena doesn’t cook but she DOES bake! These are all reasonably social and should be just fine. C:
Virtues - I don’t see the need to mention ADD under “Focused” since it doesn’t seem to relate to the trait at all? If she’s not ADD there’s no need to bring it up; mental disorders can’t be traits, and it’s really not something to casually mention.
Flaws - Again, “Borderline OCD” – OCD is really serious and can badly affect people; if you intend her to actually have Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, that can’t be a flaw, as it’s a mental disorder. Otherwise simply calling the trait “Obsessive” and removing references to OCD in the text is ideal! ON THE POWERED SIDE:
Could you provide a link to the astrological body that provides Pherkad’s name, please? A wiki page will do. c:
Also, Pherkad’s attacks appear to actually materialize a weapon, which is against the rules! It would have to very clearly be a translucent magical fan (basically totally nonphysical/for visual only.) Other than that, though, I think the attacks look great and definitely make me think of fans/fan dancing; I always tie them together with wind!
Quote me with changes and I'll give her another look-over!

I use to have a blurb on the attacks that the fan is not physical I don't know when or why I deleted it but I put it back up there to clear up any confusion. Shan!

Okay! At this point I'd just like to see that focused virtue expanded on - does she ever get deterred? If a project doesn't go well, what does she do? Things like that! A little more information c:

Hi, Shan! There's just a couple of things I want to discuss before dropping a stamp in her!
THE CIVILIAN
Selena's Clean Freak flaw isn't exactly reading like a flaw! I mean, it could be a flaw when handled the right way, but right now it really seems to be something that's sort of a benefit to other people! I sure would like someone to clean up my kitchen every once in a while! Clean Freak is kind of a difficult flaw to work with! I'd like to follow up with Song's suggestion of using "Obsessive." You definitely want to steer away from OCD, but a general obsessiveness could definitely work here, particularly if that obsessiveness resulted in her behaving in any way overbearing toward other people! It would make the flaw a bit broader and more likely to get a negative reaction!
With flaws, you want to approach them from the angle of "What is it about this trait that other characters would not like about my character?" Kyu's used a gossip analogy before for things like this. "What are some of the bad things about my character that other characters might gossip about? If another character was going to say something mean about her behind her back, what would it be?"
THE POWERED
As far as her attacks are concerned, for the most part they look good! Range and usage limits are acceptable! The only thing I want to touch on here is her Eternal attack, where she creates tornadoes with her fans! There's already a Senshi of Tornadoes, and while her attacks are different, you might want to steer away from using the word "tornado" to describe the effects of the attack! The effects themselves (pulled in/spat out/dizziness) are fine, but I would probably call it something like "whirlwind" just to avoid any confusion!

Hi Sunshine, Sorry I didn't notice you had posted, Song had to tell me lol. Civilian: For some reason I thought I changed it to obsessiveness. I'll definitely change that now because you're both right on that. I'll think on the flaws, this is definitely one of my weakest points hands down. Maybe something to the effect of ' comes off as rude ' if someone interrupts her when she's concentrating on something. If she has to stop what she's doing before she is at a stopping point she gets irritated and impatient kind of like hurry up and get to the point. But I'm not sure if this could conflict with anything. Powered: I'll go ahead and change it to whirlwind smile

Oh my God, I'm so sorry, I know I meant to quote you just in case you didn't get a notice! Song is so on top of things!! XD Flaws and virtues can definitely be tricky, especially flaws! A lot of times it's easier to imagine the best in someone and when you get to the negative bits it can be a little murky wading through it! What I like to do with flaws sometimes is I look at the virtues I have and try to come at it from a negative angle. I ask "What about this virtue can be a bad thing?" So if I have a character who is "Focused", like Selena is, I might give her an "Obsessive" flaw since "Obsessive" could sort of be the other, more negative side of "Focused." Sometimes it's easier to make flaws out of the virtues, like if your character took their virtues to the extreme! This isn't always the case, bit it can help! For example! I have a Chibi Senshi (Perdita) with virtues of "Clever" and "Determined". She's rather intelligent and precocious and knows what she wants and does what she has to in order to get it. Out of those I developed the flaws of "Know-It-All" and "Bossy." She likes when she's right about things, she likes when people know that she's right about things, and she also likes when things go her way! Then I have a Page (Palatine) with virtues of "Driven" and "Self-Reliant." She's hardworking and can take care of herself; she doesn't need very many people to lean on! Out of those she has the flaws of "Workaholic" and "Reserved." She focuses on her work so much that it can and has affected some of her personal relationships, and she doesn't find it easy to get close to people at all, to the point where it seems as if she doesn't care about them (even though she does) or doesn't want to try being friends! Looking at Selena's virtues, "Obsessive" can definitely work for her! The thing with flaws, however, (and virtues, too, for that matter, but your virtues look great so there shouldn't be any problem there!) is that you don't want them to be conditional! If they're conditional then they're not really true flaws, since a certain set of sometimes very specific circumstances need to be involved in order for them to show through properly, which could potentially never happen! You want to think of traits that would affect her on a day-to-day basis! If she's only "Obsessive" about cleaning, this might not work since that's a single circumstance that could easily be avoided! Or would she obsess over whatever happens to have her attention/whatever she might be focusing on at the time? Keep that in mind with "Irritable if Interrupted," too! That "if" makes it conditional, since the flaw would only come into play when she's interrupted! Is she never irritable otherwise? I hope that helps a bit! I know sometimes my wording can get a little convoluted, so if you have any questions, please ask! I'd be happy to help! :3

No worries I managed to get the note. What you mentioned is a good way to look at them and I'll definitely keep it in mind for future quest bio's. I changed Clean freak to Obsessive though I'm not sure how I should edit what it says or what I should include to make it better fit Obsessive. I also changed to irritable if interrupted to rude and added a bit more to it. Otherwise when thinking about her I don't think much else would really make her irritable to be honest but I couldn't be sure till I RP her.

With "Obsessive" you're going to want to look at how it affects her and other people beyond just her obsession with things being neat/cleaned/organized! Does she obsess over people at all? Especially with people she considers friends. Does she try to ingratiate herself into other people's business, perhaps in a pushy way? Does she try to force her opinions on people at all? Does she have a hard time dropping a subject or letting things go? Does she ever hold any grudges? "Rude" is looking a little better, although it's still reading bit as a conditional trait! Is she ever rude in other circumstances beyond being interrupted?

Hey, Shan! Sorry for the delay! "Oblivious" looks good and should work fine opposite her "focused" virtue! "Encouraging" and "Focused" also look good! At the moment, it's just the "Rude" flaw that's still a little problematic as it's still reading as a conditional trait! If she's only ever rude upon being interrupted (whether this is in the middle of a conversation or an activity) then the flaw can be easily avoided! With all of a character's personality traits, you want them to have some sort of an application in a variety of circumstances! She's rude when interrupted, but what about in other day-to-day interactions with people? With her "Encouraging" virtue it seems unlikely that she'd be outright mean to someone intentionally. But she does seem as if she might be a bit "Particular." She seems like the sort who likes things to be a certain way. She gets annoyed when she's interrupted in the middle of something, so she doesn't like to be disturbed when she's intently focused one something. Also, with her "Organized" virtue and her habit of writing things down to remind herself, it sort of makes her seem like she could be a bit "particular" or "picky/finicky," so that could be something you might want to consider if she isn't quite so rude under other circumstances!

Oh man x_x I am sorry I totally meant to work on the flaw this weekend but I didn't even so much as turn my computer on crying . I tried to look up a list of flaws but couldn't really find one to fit. Selena was raised by parents who encouraged her but also raised her to be polite and considerate of others.
