"Sprout tower" Connecting Land Routes: Violet City
Sprout Tower is a three-tiered tower with multiple eaves. Like the Bell Tower and the Burned Tower, it is constructed solely out of wood, creating a multi-story effect. The design of Sprout Tower is inspired by Buddhist temples in the Nara Prefecture of Japan, such as Kōfuku-ji and Hōryū-ji temples. Before the tower is a beautiful lake in the center of Violet City, hosting a couple of modern bridges that stretch across the water. Sprout Tower is dedicated to the gentle and peaceful nature of Bellsprout. The giant spine-like pillar located in the center of the tower acts as a support for the old tower structure, and it even protects the tall tower from sudden earthquakes. Entering the Sprout Tower, Avikna stopped to drop to a knee, calling out Lexera to use a revive on the fallen sheep. Mave strolled up, sending glances towards the monks who stopped and looked over towards her. She likely looked like such an odd creation before them. Though she was used to the stares, it didn't stop her from feeling the need to stare back, it made them look away a lot quicker. Regardless, with the Experience share in her maw, she sat down beside Avikna. "I didn't want that thing." Avikna stated firmly, resting a hand on Lexera's wool covered body as she stood up wobble-kneed. 'Are you sure? I think you could use it.' Mave replied. 'I want to know how it works.' She quickly added. Avikna quickly grabbed for the object, but Mave stood up, holding the object out of Avikna's reach. 'Don't be so stubborn.' Resting a hand on Avikna's head she knocked Avikna to the ground, though it wasn't her intention. 'Sorry.' Setting the object on Lexera's head, the sheep cocked her head, adjusting to the odd shift in weight. It wasn't uncomfortable, but it did feel odd.
Rising to her feet, Avikna straightened out her dress shirt. "Fine, I'll use the stupid thing." Crossing her arms, she thought on the training she could achieve from this place. Sprout Tower, named after the story of a giant Bellsprout that had died and this building was built around the Bellsprouts stem... kind of sick if you think about it. With Lexera wearing that thing, she no longer needed to send her in to battle to ultimately get utterly blown back. She hated the idea of cheating in this fashion, but facing humiliation because of these weakling was even more embarrassing for the red-head. It certainly sounded cold, because it was.
Other than Lexera, she still wanted to make Zelda and Bahamut stronger. Sending out the dead kelp, she greeted the floating soon-to-be-dragon with a stern look. "We're going to challenge the master of this tower." Avikna stated, and with that small explanation she headed up the stairs to the next level.

None of the monks seemed willing or able to battle Avikna. She understood she was far overpowered considering the weakness of Bellsprout, but this was ridiculous. She even heard as she traveled further up the tower that their leader, the head monk, wasn't feeling well. What was the point of coming to this place if she was only going to face excuse after excuse. At the top, she found the head monk, resting on his legs, facing out towards the setting sun. "Good evening." He greeted, never turning his head or any part of his body to see whom had entered the room. "I suppose you're the one causing such a ruckus?" Was she causing a ruckus though? She'd simply walked through the tower asking for a battle with several of the monks, only to be rejected. Had someone come in before she had, just a short of time for her to have missed them, but not enough time for the Monk's Pokemon to recover? That thought had crossed her mind as well. Avikna folded her arms. It still wasn't worthy of being called a ruckus. "I will challenge you, trainer." Slowly getting to this feet the old man stepped forward, releasing a Bellsprout as his first Pokemon. Avikna motioned Zelda forward.

The battle lasted no more then ten minutes. It was honestly pathetic, but it wasn't like Avikna had expected a challenge. Zelda wasn't quite where she wanted her, but Avikna couldn't deny her Skrelp was powerful. All her Pokemon were powerful, but not so much as she felt she could take on her father and win. Nodding her head in approval towards Zelda, she turned her gaze on the elderly monk who was staring directly at her. "You're strong..." he seemed to hesitate watching as she crossed her arms. "...and I sense a strong feeling of determination coming off of you. You've raised your Pokemon to be strong, but... I fear you've done so with little love or admiration." The red-head expected this. The whole "Raise your Pokemon like friends" speal. She knew it all to well. It wasn't like it was drilled into her head growing up or anything, but it was more or less an unwritten rule among Pokemon trainers. Pokemon were not weapons, but companions. "Then you're blind, old man." Avikna replied. Lowering a hand down to one of Mave's horns, the wolf pushed up into Avikna's touch. "I may not always come off as caring or kind, I do need to improve in these aspects, but if you knew anything about how I live or how I operate, you'd understand my Pokemon are happy, I'd do anything to protect them." Mave nodded her head. Though it did catch the wolf somewhat off guard for Avikna to spill this all out to this old man. He nodded shortly, sitting back down on his pillow. "My apologize than. I only say so because you remind me of another challenger that once came here long ago. My memory is as sharp as ever, and that man... he shared your eyes, the eyes of determination, but I suppose even I, in my old age, might just be seeing things." Avikna's hand clenched. He didn't need to say much more... she could almost see it herself.... the man of which he spoke of. Avikna had learned long ago that her father came from Johto, he'd once done the whole 'travel the world' thing. It was likely no coincidence that she 'shared the look of determination' with anything other then her father. It pissed her off.
Turning away she headed for the exit. She'd done what she'd come here to do.

The ground here was a lot softer than their past few landing locations, and Jas gave a great yawn before laying down as they climbed off him. "Are you sure it's even smart to be collecting these things? We don't know what they do.... they could be poisonous or something. Give off some kind of radiation," ZK sneered, even as he dropped onto the ground to follow her towards the large tower another wishing star had disappeared into. "You don't think you or Jas would have picked up on that?" was the blunt response he got. Grimacing, ZK looked around, his gaze sweeping the area. This was the closest they'd come to a populated area, and Ajicka wasn't the only one that seemed to be looking for the wishing star. There were figures wandering in and around, looking curiously around. Which only made him more reluctant to watch Ajicka pursue this. What if they had to fight for these.... or they were being collected by people who had an actual idea of what they were, and what they were capable of?

While some stepped curiously into the tower, Ajicka strolled with purpose. She had a good idea of where the wishing star had landed, though as far as she was aware, maybe there were several. Even as they had glided down back to the earth, she'd seen several more plummeting down around the region. She wondered what was causing it all.... where were they coming from? Her thoughts turned to the sky as she climbed the burned tower, she wondered about Deoxys. Where was he? He'd been gone for so long. She'd felt brief moments, she supposed, of something at the back of her mind, but she wasn't even sure if it was him. Without any of her usual psychics around, she was so much more aware of a psychic absence-- and any presence. And there was something vaguely nudging at the back of her mind, too, with Deoxys gone so long.... but she couldn't pinpoint what.

The floor creaked under her footsteps, but Ajicka didn't slow down as she strode up the rickety staircase, and stopped at one of the floors. She was pretty sure the thing would have hit the wall at this floor, given the angle it had entered at. And she hadn't seen it exit, so....
She'd gotten higher up than most others. Those that were there, were admiring the remains of the building, or getting tangled with bellsprout. She kept a hand on one of her pokeballs, and started looking around, her mind moving on to her next objective. She would need to figure out whether this changed her plans or not.... and just how many she wanted to collect before moving away from this distraction.

Without so much as a glance around, Ajicka stealthily pocketed the item, and headed back for the stairs. She stepped down, realizing on her way, that ZK had stopped following her at some point. She found him leaned against Jas, who was taking the chance to nap, the zoroark's own eyelids lowering drowsily as he struggled to stay awake. "Hey. Think you can make it one more stop?" Ajicka asked flatly, her eyes on ZK, though it was a little hard to tell who the question was for. The zoroark quickly straightened up, shot her a glare, and surreptitiously made sure his disguise was still in place. Jas gave a rumble and drew himself to his full height, large teeth bared in a tremendous yawn. He could make it-- but he'd probably need to sleep shortly thereafter.

Lafayette peered up at the swaying tower before him, the corners of his mouth twitching against the frown they’d been set into. It was one thing to wander through the abandoned burnt remains of towers and mansions who, by their very nature of existence, were unstable structures due to the damage they’d suffered. It was another to step into a structure that was designed to be unstable, to wobble and weave at the slightest gust of wind.
It was an impressive piece of construction; the Aussie couldn’t deny that. He’d stumbled in on conversations between his dad and his mates about different projects throughout the regions and learned just a bit about the Sprout Tower from it. It didn’t make much sense to him to build something that mimicked the sway of a pokemon. A Bellsprout no less.

He wasn’t here to critic what mastermind thought this was a good idea. He was there to search for another one of those damned wishing star fragments. With a huff and a shuffle with pokemon in tow, he made his way up the stairs and into the swaying tower before him. There were others already in the area; monks, if he understood correctly, who occupied the swaying tower, offering to combat the occasional trainer if they wished. Lafayette considered for a moment if he ought to take up this offer. It was certainly more exciting than the scavenger hunt he was on. He caught sight of a young trainer doing just this and opted to pause and watch, sending his pokemon off to search for their query while he did. Noah attempted to argue of course, he wanted to see some fighting as well just like his trainer, but a sharp look was enough to send him off to do what was expected of him.

Unfortunately, the fight was a disappointing watch. Lafayette folded his arms over his chest, watching as the young girl’s pokemon was downed only after a few leaves smashed it into the ground. It was clear from the get-go that she was more on the new side with a weak team. The Bellsprout that the monk had been using was clearly on the weak side as well. Underpowered pokemon weren’t exactly a challenge for his team. What a disappointment.
Still, the Aussie watched with some level of bemusement as the pair duked it out, the girl bringing forth a Sandshrew as her next pokemon option. He wasn’t the brightest individual in the world, but even Lafayette knew that this was a poor match-up, cementing his suspicions that she was just very, very, new.

The battle ended as he expected it would, with the poor sand rat being obliterated with another blaze of leaves. And then another poorly suited pokemon followed and was downed and the girl slumped in defeat. The monk was humble and kind about the matter, returning his pokemon and approaching the girl to pat her on the shoulder, confirming with gentle words that she had done her best and that he was impressed with her tenacity in the face of disadvantage.
Basically, weird hogwash that was meant to keep her spirits up in the face of imminent defeat. Lafayette scoffed silently under his breath, glancing about the tower. He wasn’t one for that kind of thing; it was better to tell people the truth; that they’d made poor choices and deserved to lose for it. After all, how were you supposed to get better if people never told you that you sucked? At least, that was his logic and (as poor as it was) it’d done him well enough throughout his life. A little more wandering and checking his surroundings and his pokemon reappeared, Noah presenting the glowing shard to his trainer with a puff of his cheeks.

✧✧【The walk through Violet City to get to the tall wooden tower was an easy one, Eveline taking a bit of time to take in the quiet, calm atmosphere of the area as they crossed the twin bridges over the lake to get to their destination. Violet felt a lot more like a small town than an actual city, maybe it was the lush abundance of greenery surrounding the place or the beautiful looking pond the Sprout Tower itself sat close to. Lumiose never had anything like this… While she did have a strong, nostalgic attachment to the city and some good memories growing up there, sometimes the constant noise and bright lights was a bit much. After spending much of her life in a place like that, it just made visiting all of these quieter, more laid back kind of towns that much more refreshing.
Entering the tower itself, the first thing that immediately caught her eye was the enormous swaying pillar that continuously swung back and forth like a pendulum, almost hypnotic as she found herself idly tracking the motions with her eyes. The constant swaying of the pillar seemed to make the entirety of the tower itself wobble and vibrate as if it was meant to be unstable, supposedly the pillar’s flexibility helped to protect the tower from earthquakes. Strangely fascinating… Apparently the legend was that the swaying pillar had been made from a Bellsprout that had been at least a hundred feet tall, honestly kind of silly in retrospect but admittedly impressive if such a thing had actually existed. ”Right, suppose we can get in some more training too while we’re here,” she said, reaching for a couple more Pokeballs on her belt. Deciding to give Chardonnay a break for now since she’d trained so much in the cave, Eveline decided to call out a couple more Pokemon who could certainly use the experience. Merlot yawned and shook herself as she was sent out, the Nickit looking like she’d just awoken from a long nap as she peered up curiously at her trainer with her deep green eyes. Armagnac, on the other hand, was quite eager to finally be called out again ever since hatching from the egg back in Galar Mine, brandishing his sword-like limbs in an aggressive eagerness.
”If you two are up to do some battling practice, be my guest,” she said, gesturing for the two to go on ahead if they were so inclined, ”Just don’t antagonize each other too much, please.” Armagnac hadn’t exactly been introduced formally to most of her team yet, but given that he had been an experimental Pokemon deliberately bred this way by a Void scientist for… Arceus knows what, the Scyther could possibly be a bit of a wild card that she had to be careful with.
Merlot and Armagnac shared appraising yet apprehensive looks with one another, each one sizing the other up carefully. Though the Nickit didn’t let it show on her usually impassive face, she was honestly quite intimidated by this big bug she was supposed to be training along with. Of course part of it was the sheer size difference, but the fact that she knew virtually nothing about this new companion of theirs immediately had her on edge. The Scyther narrowed his eyes briefly at the little fox, though made no move to raise his scythes in a way that would indicate aggression. Seemed he didn’t see her as a major threat and had no reason to outright attack her then and there, so she supposed she’d accept it for now. Dipping her head in reluctant acceptance, Merlot turned and padded off to see what sort of challenges this place had to offer with the Scyther tailing after her. It hardly took long to find something, at least, as the sound of sinister snickering from close by caught her sharps ears as a pair of Gastly materialized in front of her.】✧✧
