Lore's Parn1000/1000 vs. Gormlaith's Kobold1000/1000 Quote: You will make an introductory post and roll a 100-sided dice during your introductory post. This post is basically you walking onto the stage once more with your Pokemon in a Pokeball or next to you. Then your opponent will do likewise, also rolling a 100-sided dice. Person with the highest roll goes first. HP/Attack bonuses count if your Pokemon has them. Pokemon that cannot evolve any further have 1000 HP. Pokemon that can evolve one more time have 900 HP. Pokemon that can evolve two more times have 800 HP. Now for every attack post, you roll one 6-sided dice which will let your opponent know how to react to your post. 1 = your attack misses, 2-5 = your attack hits for 100 damage, 6 = your attack hits for 200 damage. Even stuff that normally does not do damage - such as growl - will do a kind of unseen damage in that it will hurt your opponent's dignity or whatnot. Super effective/resistance/immunity/whatever do not count. Although please don't say you punch a Ghost Pokemon in the face. That's just not elegant - try to make all attacks seem reasonable and keep beauty/grace/cuteness/etc in mind. Also try to humiliate your opponent if possible - you are making your own Pokemon look good and your opponent's Pokemon look bad! At the end of every post, please include your Pokemon's HP. After 5 posts from both sides (10 posts in total not including the intro posts), time will be called and the battle will end regardless of if a Pokemon has fainted or not. You will be scored on both how much damage you have done, your general performance throughout the battle (so RP your best!), and your creativity throughout the battle. A response post from each side after the 10 damage posts in response to a KO or finished time is allowed to bring the battle to a culmination. Judges will post shortly after to let you know who won. If you do not make a post within 24 hours (subjected to change) of your opponent's last post, you are automatically disqualified and your opponent wins the battle. We will then alert you of your next battle.

Gormlaith was pleasantly surprised to hear that Kobold had passed on to the next round. So far that... bug was showing his worth by being successful in contests. Seeing how he was horrible at just about anything else this made him worth keeping. It would help her Gormlaith persona if she had such an award winning pokemon.
As she walked towards the stage she glanced at the Volcarona flying next to her. "Remember Kobold. Make yourself look good and the opponent like a fool." She whispered. She received a nod in return and she faced forward. When their names were called she walked onto the stage with a nice smile and a wave. Kobold flew next to her and then fluttered towards the middle of the stage. Once there he hovered waiting for his opponent to show up.

Lore walked in with Parn riding her shoulder. The spider was more than ready for a fight- it was, in fact, more her style than a performance. She hungered for the satisfaction of defeating one's opponents with guile and efficiency. Her six eyes, filled with cunning, locked on the Volcarona's two. So this was the pokemon she would be fighting... She would have to watch out for fire attacks, if that was any indication of what to expect.
While Parn had had time enough to recover for a battle between then and now, her trainer was more out of sorts. She was hungry. Why hadn't she thought to bring snacks? The smile had disappeared from her face; hidden in the shadow of her hood was a distant, glaze-eyed expression as food danced before the eyes of her imagination.
When Parn scurried down her side to stand on the floor, Lore realized the battle was about to begin and introduced herself.
"Ah, er... 'sup. Nice to meet you!" She waved at the other trainer. "I see you've got a bug too, eh? I'll watch your show on a screen later. Well then, hope we have a good fight."

Let the battle commence! It was time. Worrying that Parn might not have grasped the spirit of the competition, Lore chipped in suddenly with something which was half signal, half reminder: "Show 'em what you've got, Parn! IN STYLE!" The spider replied with a loud "TULAAAA!" and leapt upwards into a vigourous pirouette, unleashing luminous, squiggly shots of electro-web silk in the general direction of her airborne opponent. She glowed with charge as she spun with her legs spread, almost like a furry, brightly coloured four-point throwing star. She hadn't formed a web with it, or shot with precision; but that was part of her plan. Parn landed back on the arena floor, static sparks crackling across her fur. She had made contact- but only with a minimal area. No... rather than simply see if she could shoot her opponent out of the air with a net, she was putting on a show, as Lore had annoyingly reminded her. Ke ke ke. Gormlaith mentally scoffed at the other coordinator. Have a good fight. Pah. Did they not realize this wasn't like normal battling where damage wasn't the main goal. Whatever. If this person didn't realize this then that was their problem. Instead of showing her disdain for Lore she smiled sweetly. "Yes I have a bug too. And yes let's have a good performance." She said. The signal for the start of the battle appeal went off and the spider pokemon began to move. She didn't tell Kobold what to do this time. He could figure out how to deal with some electrified web coming his way. Kobold flew slightly higher when Parn launched herself up at him. When the electro-web came his way he burst into flames. He began to dance around the squiggly shots and whenever they came into contact with him they burst into flames.
Once Parn was done shooting web strings at him he danced around in the sky above her, still on fire. Soon he was darting down at her and dancing around her while shifting little embers from his body.[Moved use: Fiery Dance] [Moves available: Fiery Dance, Hurricane, Quiver Dance, Morning Sun] [HP: 900/1000]

When the other bug flew in close with its fire dance, Parn unflinchingly met it with a dance of her own. Many in the audience gasped with amused recognition as the lightning-marked Galvantula hoisted herself on her front legs and spun while unleashing a disruptive bug buzz upon her opponent. Rattling her abdomen and back limbs above her while shifting from pinprick front toe to toe below, it was undeniably a breakdance. Dispelled by the bug buzz, the Volcarona's embers did not make it through- but the heat of proximity to her flame-engulfed opponent left Parn's backside slightly singed regardless. Yet, when she leapt back into a battle-ready pose at the end, she buzzed once more and made a taunting motion with one of her front legs. <You bore me already, simpleton. Let me show you some real moves.> Her voice dripped with sweet venom. Lore barked out a laugh as she watched, and slapped her knee- it seemed Parn was going to keep to the electric dance club theme of her prior performance in the appeal round. Who knew spiders could breakdance? And ah, there was that smugness again. Although Gal Galvantula Tulaa meant nothing to her or any other normal human, the message came across, clear as day. Gormlaith watched as the other trainer acted so undignified. The pokemon was at least able to turn around Kobold's dance. "Kobold! Show her the other side of dancing!" She called out with a smile. Kobold didn't reply, he had been taught that him talking back was a big no-no, and instead flitted back some when the spider began to break dance. Hearing his trainer he fluttered from side to side.
Suddenly he rose up and flapped his wings hard several times. A strong wind blew, strong enough to pick up a small pokemon or keep them firmly on the ground. Then he began to slowly dance around her making sure the wind kept up. It was almost as if he was performing a ballet in the sky to contrast her break dance. He finished his dance with a flip backwards in the sky and posed with his wings spread just as the wind died.[Moved use: Hurricane/Quiver Dance] [Moves available: Fiery Dance, Hurricane, Quiver Dance, Morning Sun] [HP: 800/1000]

When the wind started to pick up, Lore realized what attack her opponent would be using. "It's gonna be a hurricane. Make the most of the weather, eh?" She spoke to Parn, stuffing her hands loosely into the pockets of her open jacket to keep it from flapping around. Parn watched as the Volcarona rose, palping the air very slowly with her little bug arms. Something buried deep in spider instinct spoke to her. It would be her first time ballooning, but... she was well equipped for going airborne, grapples and all. There was nothing to fear. In the depths of her mind, she calculated- within moments she found the right strength and direction of wind and let loose a long, thin strand of electro-web. Instead of letting the hurricane pick her up and toss her around, she was going to ride it. Surely as a kite, the Galvantula lifted off- and let go of her line just as she reached her opponent's altitude. Now that she could aim true, she shot a tether of electro-web directly to the ground at the hurricane's center, wrapping it securely around her front legs so that she could face the Volcarona. All of this buffeting around was a little... well, winding, but dizziness or not, she was gonna light up the stage. Colorful circles of notes were sung in crystalline tones as she shot multiple Rounds at her opponent. The music broke up as it travelled in the wind, however, and while the effect was pretty, the attack missed- and the stadium was now filled with a sound something like dozens of windchimes ringing all at once. Kobold didn't have to worry about avoiding the Rounds. They were gone in the wind. As the wind died the sound from the Rounds remained and he began to dance again. It was still a slow dance but he kept drawing closer and closer to Parn. He sliced the rope tethering her to the ground before she could do anything to help prevent her from falling out of the sky. He watched her begin to fall now.
Before she could get too far away from him he fluttered over and gave a slight bow. Then he flew right up to her and held her lightly. He danced with her in the sky as they slowly descended. This time instead of a ballet he danced to the fading windchime sound. It looked romantic as they were dancing like it was a waltz.
Soon they were just a few feet from the ground. Kobold went to spin in a slow circle but was going a bit faster than he thought. He also lost his grip on Parn and sent her flying away from him and towards the ground. Whoops!Gormlaith was impressed with how Kobold turned that around and smiled to herself as he danced gracefully down towards the ground. The smile froze on her face when his clumsiness reared its ugly head. It had been perfect until he threw his dance partner to the floor like she was some piece of trash not worthy to dance with him. Oh she was going to yell at him later for that! [Moved use: Quiver Dance] [Moves available: Fiery Dance, Hurricane, Quiver Dance, Morning Sun] [HP: 800/1000]

The wind began to die down and Parn felt her spin begin to slow. It was finally time to execute the plan she'd laid down since her very first attack, for while previously the other bug's fire had made cinders out of of the silk that came too close to it, all of the escaped strands of electro-web had hit their true target. The ground below was a bug zapper waiting to happen, coated haphazardly with strands of sticky, conductive web that she could send a Volt Switch through anytime after her landing. Parn's opponent would have no doubt insisted on remaining airborne without a little... persuasion. The Galvantula took aim- but before she could fire a shot, her cord was cut and loosened! She faltered for a moment as the Volcarona danced around her, slowing her fall with buffets of air. <What is this?!> She objected, eyeing the firebug with affront as they slowly bounced and drifted downwards. This display of chivalry was out of place; they were in the midst of a battle-! Oh, right- it was to win over the crowd, was it? A clever strategy, and one that had foiled her plan. Or so she thought before she found herself spinning in an unceremonious toss to the ground. Splendid! She mentally thanked him for the fumble, rather than get offended. Now she could take him down with her, albeit not as hard as if it had been from a greater height. Parn shot electrified silk at him like a grappling hook as balls of spitting light formed around each of her front claws. These Volt Switches were much more powerful than those she'd used in her appeal. She fell to the ground on her hind legs, a hard enough impact to be painful- but she dragged her target down too to finally meet the silk wiring in squiggles across the floor. Something about what he'd done earlier tickled her ego, though, and she cut her line on him before he could fall. If that's how he'd wanted to play, then she could impress the audience with her mercy, too. But not without showing them what her plan had been, so that they knew that letting him fly free was an intentional act. She brought down her claws on two of the squiggles on the floor and the Volt Switch coursed through them like liquid thunder; bright veins of lightning crackling around them with brisk snapping noises. Mythee Hopefully Nana will count this..... but I would also like to see how this ends. XP And yes that's cool. Also what a perfect time to miss, good time to use the one attack he has that doesn't cause actual damage.. XD Kobold was hit with a string and felt the tug as Parn began to pull him down. He drew even closer to the ground but before he landed or was slammed into it the line was cut. He wasn't able to fly away fast enough and some of the electricity jumped up to him.
Taking a cue from the lightning jumping around them he slowly began to ascend. As he did he began to glow until it looked like he had come from the electricity on the ground. He made sure to dart about in the air much like the lightning was doing below.[Moved use: Morning Sun] [Moves available: Fiery Dance, Hurricane, Quiver Dance, Morning Sun] [HP: 700/1000]

Lore placed a hand on her chin and nodded, fascinated at how Parn seemed to have gotten into a game of Charm one-uppance with the Volcarona. The nature of the battle had changed, ever so slightly. She watched as the Volcarona rose back up in the air, making a good show of it even though the lightning must have hurt. Peeking at her holo-caster, Lore noted that the match was coming to an end. "Time's almost up, Parn. Give it your best!" What- already? While he was out of reach, stealing the spotlight? Might as well try to go out with a bang. The spider redoubled and tripled her input of Volt Switch on two selected wires, running as much current through them as she could. Her entire body appeared to glow- yellow fur spiked and stood on end with the static; and in the heat of the moment she began to Bug Buzz, adding to the crowd's anticipation as electricity built up. Fountains of lightning seemed to spring up from the leylines, thin, frail branches of light that existed only for brief moments. Finally, the desired effect was reached; with two powerfully energised, but physically separate currents, the laws of physics saw to it that a circuit chose that moment to complete itself. A huge electric arc, thick and glowing blue-white, formed between the two ends of the seperate sprays of conductive silk with a mighteous snap. It was tall and dangerous, turning the air into plasma where its fabulous arch deigned to wobble. The smell and deafening sound of electricity filled the arena, as well as a burning white light that drowned out other colors. It was maintained for as long as Parn could keep it up- about four and a half seconds, in fact. And then she stopped buzzing, and let go- the entire room suddenly seemed much darker as the bright source of light disappeared. Parn herself was still glowing, a glow which faded slowly as she bowed and waved, a little unsteadily from how much energy she'd just used. She'd probably never do that again. But it had felt like a good ending, one worthy of this most... interesting battle. In the end, the fight- and her opponent- hadn't been quite so boring as she'd initially claimed. Lore stood agape before she realized what expression she was making. Creating electric arcs had been an idea she'd coined to her adorable spider daughter, but she'd never expected Parn to actually do it, especially on such a large scale. The traveler quickly corrected herself and her posture, finally bowing to her opponent first, and then the audience. Kobold wasn't worry about time being almost up. There should be enough time for one last chance to steal the spotlight. He felt the electricity that Parn was building up rather than saw it. He felt it all around him just about and soon felt it above. He flew a little lower before looking up. He saw the great arc of electricity connect above him and stared in awe for a second.
He decided to make use of the arc while it was there and continued to glow. He positioned himself in the air to make himself directly center between the arc and the floor. When the excess light from the arc (and the arc itself) disappeared he continued to glow. He looked down and saw Parn was also glowing but beginning to fade.
He made his own glow fade along with her and slowly descended. Before he could reach the ground the glow on her and himself was gone. He waited a second for the new 'darkness' to register to the crowd. Then he made his wings burst into flames just above Parn which sent some embers spiraling down at her. He gave a few last twirls and flips in the sky making it slower and slower until he finally stopped and the flames went out. What was left was a smokey outline of a pair of insect dancers.Gormlaith gave a slight bow when the crowd applauded the final two moves of the show. She then smiled at Lore and returned the bow she gave. Finally she moved towards Kobold to stand next to him so they could take their final bow together.
